Just FYI, you've lost a large of customers because of this case (our family, my friends, and co-workers that I've shared our incident with). She told my friend that there was a strict exchange policy, despite the fact that my friend was not told this when she checked out. She then added, with a more than unnecessary tone, "and, you need your receipt." Mind you, she never once asked if she had it with her in her shopping bag (which she did). I've worked in customer service for years. Not once have I treated a customer with that kind of disrespect, regardless of how they spoke to me. As a smaller business, I urge you to do better.
