I've always loved Kim and Kim's nails. However I quit going as so many technicians do not speak English to clients and only speak Vietnamese to each other. They make a point to speak as little as possible to the client This is very rude. It is a trait from the past. Nowadays successful nail salon techs speak English to their clients and show interest in them. Kim only says a loud hello as clients come in.. then a goodbye. Overall, we had a very terrible experience and the service was VERY disappointing to say the least. Kim's nails need to have more equitable and fair practices of servicing EVERY customer regardless of age or race. This is NOT the place (trust the reviews on here - there's a reason it's 2.5 stars). My grandmother is 98 years old and just got out of the hospital weeks ago. All she wanted to do was feel nice and get her nails done since they were very overgrown while she was in the hospital. We drop her off at Kim's Nails at 2pm, I come back to pick her up at 4:15pm.. 2 hours, 15 mins later. I walk in and see her at a station alone with her nails soaking just being seen for a manicure highly distraught saying she will never come back here and is having the worst service here. She's also the only person in the salon without a nail tech near her (I also notice she's the only immigrant and elder person as a client out of maybe 8 clients in total being serviced at the time). I ask the nearest technician which worker is taking care of my grandmother since no one is at her station and why she's not done after close to 2.5 hours of being there. The lady ignores me and then mumbles she doesn't know. Another tech comes right away after she overhears me ask my grandma if she'd like to go to another salon somewhere else. The tech goes on to tell me they were waiting for my grandma's pedicure to finish up before doing her mani (which doesn't make sense since most nail salons will do both mani pedi at the same time to save time). My grandma goes on to tell me that they saw 3 other people before her meaning they were intentionally taking other people before her. She finishes up her nails close to 3 hours in (mind you, we missed another appointment due to Kim Nail's negligence and lack of respect for others' time). The pedicure itself was done decently (the only positive in this review) - the manicure was mediocre as far a quality. However, as my grandmother is paying the bill, I ask her nail tech what they could do since she was waiting 2.5 hours. The lady ignores me and I say, "Excuse me, I'm talking to you. Can you offer her a discount or some incentive for next visit for her wait?" The lady refuses to look me in the eye and shakes her head saying "no." I see another white client come in and is told that she can be seen right away. As we're leaving, the nail techs are all laughing at my grandma as she's asking about her shoes (which happened to be on her feet but again, she's 98 years old and can be forgetful). It was just very rude. Long story short, I highly recommend going somewhere else that shows respect for its customers and has integrity. I cannot recommend and highly suggest going elsewhere due to the very poor treatment my grandmother and I received at this nail salon. read more

I just had the most painful and awful experience. The man who did my nails always sits in the back left corner. He RIPPED my hands up today. My middle finger is down to the skin. No cuticle left. I can barely even type. All Of the bloody utensils that he used on me were also just put right back in the box and not disinfected. He also used his bare hands to put some sort of glue on my skin to make the bleeding stop. Who knows how many other people's blood is in this bottle of glue. He also then used a file that had blood on it from me and put the file back in his drawer. I am literally repulsed and think this man should be fired. The salon should be inspected. read more

When I first arrived I was greeted. When I asked if I needed to wear a mask she said it's up to you. I said I have been vaccinated and she you're safe so have we. My nail tech motioned me over, never introduced herself and the employees immediately started laughing & talking in Vietnamese. Which made me feel like I was being talked about... I showed the tech what I wanted and asked can you do this? She said yes. Long story short... she didn't do what I asked and my nails look horrible. I'm from out of town and wanted to try a different salon. This nail salon had good reviews and was close to my hotel. I will definitely be visiting my nail tech when I get home. She didn't even clean up the polish around my nails. Maybe I shouldn't have mentioned that I was from out of town. I've had a few pedicures and at first I loved it here, the chairs were so nice, it seemed like the best bang for my buck- until the girl started doing my nails. She took her tool and went at it with my big toenail- she clipped straight down my nail almost to the nail bed. And now a tony piece of my nail is piercing my toe- and i can't get it bc it's under skin. The worst nail paint job, ever. There's paint on my cuticles and my skin, it does not look professionally done. paid 68 dollars for a shitty job. After I pointed it out to Kim all she said was, "it will come off when you shower." What came off on my toe was part of the Gel on my nail along with what was on my skin. The color doesn not have enough coating and there are spaces on my nails that hasnt even been touched with color. I got annoyed with pointing out the simple imperfections. I just went and got them redone some where else. Even the technician where I got my nails redone questioned if I tried painting my own nails. My nails were uneven and the coloring was so bad, after I told him I spent 68 dollars he was flabbergasted. I should have known when I called to make an appointment not to go to Kim's. There was no business etiquette. The person answered the phone with "hello" which made me question if I called the right establishment. They were nice once I got there but my nails came out horrible, even my boyfriend refuses to believe I didn't do them myself. The worst part is when I asked for the problem to be corrected, they wouldnt do it and gave me an excuse. She burnt me with her nail shaving tool and I never received and apology, just a "oh, some people tell me some people don't." As a customer, I expected to be heard not ignored. I will never take my business to Kim's again. Nice people but not worth the money for what looks like a 4 year old can do. read more

I had never been to Kim's before. I received a gift certificate for Christmas and decided to use it today before we leave for spring break. They were so busy!!!! I was there at 5pm and when people were walking in without appointments for pedicures they weren't able to get them in until 8:30! People were frustrated, but Kim was working hard to help them figure out a time that would work. They were even staying open late to accommodate the spring break rush. Don did my nails. Yesterday, I came in for a dip manicure and my cuticles were absolutely butchered I called in the next day because my fingers were still hurting and was told nothing could be done to make it right. Stereotypically bad. The woman barely speak English, don't make any attempt to be friendly or courteous, and either speak to one another in their language or talk on the phone during your service. They treat you like a bother the moment you walk in. They demand to know what service you want, then demand to know the color. Then order you to a questionably clean chair. I've been treated for a fungal infection on my toes and one on my leg after visiting this salon. I was also disgusted by the fact that they don't sanitize tools between clients. They also offer dip manicures, but don't brush the dip on, so this is only as clean as the last however many people came before you. Finally, you can't tip on credit card. You can pay by card, but then must tip with cash. I wasn't going to tip after how I was treated, but I couldn't have anyway. Who carries cash? lol read more

I took my whole bridal party and some girl friends to Kim's before my wedding. I called a month in advance to reserve 15 chairs. I know it's a lot but they said that they were happy to have us. But when the day came they were all terribly rude. They were literally taking my friends by the arm and bossing then around on where to go. They split my group up so most of us were the back and like two were in the front. They didn't have to do that because there were enough chairs, but they were just in such a hurry and not organized. They did a poor job with most of my friends and just rushed everything. Everyone was bossy and rude. I had to say several times that my nails were too long to have her fix them. She was incredibly rough and actually hurt me. Plus most of the nails were crooked. This was for my wedding! And she knew that. One of my friends wanted her nails shorter and the women responded with "they're short enough". What was supposed to be a fun Time ended up being really awful. I would've paid to not feel the way they made us feel. I'm embarrassed for choosing this place for my bridal party. read more

I was loyal to Kim's for some time, until recently when I made an appointment for 7:15, showed up promptly on time and was told I was late and would have to return in 30 minutes. When I clarified my appointment time was 7:15 several times to try and nicely clear the air, I was continuously told I was wrong. (There is absolutely NO WAY I could have made it there by 7, so I know I did not make a mistake) Kim was extremely rude to me, yelled at me in front of other customers saying "I have been in business 20 years and I know when someone says 7:00" I will NEVER be returning there, I did not deserve to be treated in such a way. I am now going to the salon across the street and have been much happier with my customer service there. read more

I have always been very pleased with the service I receive at Kim's. My polish from my pedicures always lasts a long time. I have been other places where they begin to chip off after only a few days. The staff is always very friendly. I have also had nails done here. I have always been pleased with the results of regular manicures and shellac manicures. The shellac last 2-3 weeks. One thing that had changed in the past year or so is that if you are paying with a credit card, they do not except tips in the cards. Make sure if you plan to pay credit or debit, that you have cash for a tip. read more

I had a pedicure for only $28, and the end result was good. However, the salon was busy, hot, loud and not particularly relaxing. Additionally, my technician was a little rough and used a foot razor, which made me somewhat anxious. I won't go anywhere else for mani/pedis. Prices are affordable and the staff is great. My only suggestion would be not to go right before they close. They tend to rush things and the finished product is pretty mediocre. Any other time of the day they are awesome! Also, you have to have cash for a tip even though you can pay for the service with a credit card. Kind of funky, but it's their way! I would say my experience here was middle of the line. I went on a Wednesday early in the day. They weren't terribly busy and this was by far the fastest shellac manicure I've ever gotten. The staff was very pleasant but the overall quality wasn't great. My nail artist cut my cuticle (which wasn't a huge deal) but she put glue on it to stop the small bleeding which really freaked me out. She proceeded to paint my nails immediately after cleaning my cuticles without ever filing my nails which I thought was super weird!! The paint job was ok. This was my first experience and I might give them a second try in the future. read more

I've been here twice. The first was a pedicure, and the lady did a nice job. The second was for a manicure and the guy seemed irritated that he had to remove a previous dip manicure. Then he hurriedly painted my nails with one base and one top coat of polish. It lasted a day before it chipped off. It bothers me I tipped him. I won't be back. In all the years I've been going to Kim's, at least 4+, I have never gotten a fungus or any other toe issues. In fact, when I had an ingrown toenail a couple of years ago, the podiatrist said they probably saved it from being worse than it was. So then I proceeded to tell her I wanted them longer & she got very upset saying "Oh my God!!" Then proceeded to talk about me. & made all friends also feel very unwelcomed. First time there. I'm new to getting my nails done on a regular basis, the first time I went to Kim's I had a really great experience. Unfortunately since then it's been very disappointing , I have even tried their sister location Louis nails. I was cut pretty badly a couple of times because the technician was in a rush, price has been changed on me twice, and this last visit I was completely forgotten about twice. I brought a friend with me for a pedicure, I called ahead and asked for two chairs. I also let them know that I had shellac polish that would need to be removed. They said no problem see you at two. When we got back to the chairs the water was scalding and the girl seen I had Shellac and just disappeared. I sat there waiting for someone to come for twenty minutes, my friends pedicure was 90% completed, then they just left us in the back until we took it upon ourselves to pack up and leave. Then I find out a French pedicure was $5 more, which is not posted on the board and it looks awful!!! Sorry Kim's I will never be back I gave you four chances to give me an experience like I received on my first visit and it just didn't happen! read more

I have been working so many salons for over 15 years as a nail technician, I believe with my experiences Kim nails is the most clean salon that ever work for and that is why I choose to work for Kim. Everyone of her employee have their own job to keep this salon clean and organize, She is a hard working person, so not easy to build this salon and have alot of competition around in this small city. Everyone of her employee has over 3 years experiences, of course they are not perfect but they try their best to please the customers, so as Kim did the best she can, she knows she is not perfect and so everyone else in this world. Thanks to Amy B have had come and support her business. If with manor please come directly and let Kim know what went wrong instead of posted on public, don't hurt Kim business a bit because thanks to all of her faithful customers and so understanding. Kim just builds a brand new salon and expand bigger with 20 pedicure chairs and 16 manicure tables., with my experience Kim is doing very well and very appreciated everyone of her customers, but of course a million like and get to have 1 hater. thanks to Amy B,, Kim already learn alot from you and make sure all of her employee will do a better job and with my knowledge we paid for education as a nail technician, they are working hard and want to make everyone of their customer happy but some hard to please. I have never liked the "quickie, no-appointment" nail places. I've been to a few out of necessity and it's just never a pleasant experience. I didn't really enjoy my experience at Kim's when I did a walk in and sat among at least a dozen others getting pedicures all around me. The pedicure was fine, but the experience was not enjoyable....but then I discovered the VIP Pedicure. For a bit more ($50) you are escorted to a private room in the back where there are just 4 chairs and you get a private pedicure with more steps. It takes about an hour and it's relaxing and thorough. Like many other things, the technician you get is the most important thing. So, for people who want a good experience, find a technician you like and make an appointment with that person. I always ask for Lin Lu. She does a great job and is very sweet. I have a problem with ingrown toe nails and she always gently works at it until she has freed up those corners, always checking to ask if she's hurting me. I've never had an infection, or any issues at all with cleanliness. I agree, the front of the salon is a zoo sometimes, but just go for the VIP and you won't get any of that. read more

I heard many good things about Kim's Nails and have since been going there for 3+ years. Kim is a wonderful lady and many of the girls there are just as nice. Unfortunately there are a couple who's attitudes are so poor I will not be returning. I usually get shellac manicures which run at 28. Today I asked for just a polish change since I was in a rush to get to work. These are only 17 dollars since they're are literally doing nothing but painting your nails for you, no cuticle care, no massage. I did not expect the girl spend forever on this simple polish change but she just slapped the color on my nails and sent me on my way. She was short with her words, rude, and kept sighing. I left with air bubbles and unpolished spots near the sides of my nails. As someone who frequents this nail salon I think that it's unacceptable for this kind of service, considering the girls will always walk away with a 5+ dollar type regardless of whether I get a full manicure or just polish. This is not the first time this has happened either. Im so disappointed that such a nice salon would employ the kind of people who deter customers from returning due to their bad attitudes.
