I had about an hour to kill so I decided to try this nail salon that I pass by ALL of the time. I didn't have to wait and I was able to get right in for a spa pedi. They run everyday specials and a spa pedi with a mani is $43. I think that was very reasonable! The ladies there were very nice and really took their time on my runners feet. I really enjoyed the extra leg/foot massage from the spa pedi. It really is worth the extra $10 or so! They put a moisturizing mask on your legs and then you get about 10-15 minute massage, some places use hot stones, however this place did not. The only thing I did not like but this goes for any nail salon is when you start with one person and another one finishes. I had a different lady paint my toe nails and do my mani. The place did start to get crowded but I really don't understand why this happens. I would recommend this place, if you're in the area and want to treat yourself. read more

The technicians were very nice but I had to go back 3 times in a week due to my gel polish and then the dip powder chipping and my nails breaking. When I came neck the first time the girl said the powder would be better for my nails because my nails break easily. So I decided to do that and she actually charged me $10.00 extra. I went back 2 days later because my nail color chipped. They fixed it but it wasn't the same color. I told three girl that the color didn't look right but she said once other fades it will look like the rest of my nails. Long story short, I will not go back there. I had to go to a new place to have my nails fixed. So it was 3 times in a week. read more

Terrible service! Save your money. In July, they allowed me to sit there with aluminum foil on my nails for a full hour. There "wasn't anyone available" to do dip, but they didn't tell me that when I got there. I went back again, unfortunately of all places, my husband bought me a gift card for Christmas. I waited for a tech for 15 minutes and got a pedicure. I then sat under a dryer for 35 minutes. When I asked how much longer until I would get my nails done, I was told I needed to wait 35 minutes because there was no one available to do acrylic. Basically, they advertise services only one tech can perform and they have terrible communication. Save your time and find a place with experienced, communicative techs. read more

first off I'd like to say that the acrylic nails I had put on are very nice they're very strong they're on very securely their equal size they are done very wel however, when I first got there I showed a picture asked if she could do something like this and she said no. Then I stated to her I just wanted to two colors on my nails then I said you know what let's just do black and then the two ring fingers let's do the combination of the two colors... I said this about three times ... I said she could do anything she wanted on the ring fingers with those two colors together... When it came time to pay I paid then she said which color I said no I want both she's like oh I'll do one color one and then the other one the other color OK I said no that's not OK then she's like oh that's an up charge if you want the other way I said I know but I said that prior to paying I wanted it done and you said OK... Pretty much the whole time she wouldn't do it... I don't know if it's because it was Ukrainian colors but it felt very weird to me and I don't like that at all.l. I was a regular at this place for quite awhile. I stopped going when the quality of the manicures started getting bad. Forget the pedicures...my heel was so cut up, it hurt to walk for a couple weeks. I forgave all that and went back for a gel manicure. I'm so sorry I did. Three of my cuticles are still bleeding two hours after the manicure. I promise myself I will never go back to this place...EVER! I would post photos to prove what they did. She was being flat out RACIST and the employees at Kim's nails was not only allowing that revolting behavior in their salon but agreeing with it. I have never felt more uncomfortable in my life. I have been going to this salon for years and I have always enjoyed my experience and have loved my nails. However today, after my nails were done and I was paying my bill and I guess the technician didn't believe I was tipping enough. While I was filling out the tip line she stated "you know I did your pedi too." I guess she was implying the amount I choose to tip was to small. I've been here before, I have a usual lady that does mine but she wasn't in. I made an appointment for 2:15 but was not helped until 2:40. First of all, I got a gel manicure, which was $25, pretty reasonable. I also got a normal polish pedicure, which was also $25. Don't waste your money by coming to the salon! I used to come for more than a year for gel manicure but my gel color would start chipping and lifting in less than a week. Plus the nail technicians would do the mani in a great rush! Go to Eminence Nail Bar on Bustleton and Veree, only 5 mins from here. The gel mani lasts for over 2 weeks and costs less than kim's! I've always had a positive experience at Kim's. Usually they take me very fast and I've never waited longer than 20 minutes. I went in to get an acrylic glitter nail fixed today and Ken seated me right away. He even offered to put an extra coat on my other glitter nails to ensure they would match. I have been coming here for over 3 years, because it is convenient, however I will not be returning again. I have been cut twice while getting a pedicure, with little more then an apology and still paying full price. They have few decent beauticians, and it has become more of a chop shop then a place to have some relaxing me time. If you consider trying, I would advise you to stay away. They do a good job, but ever since they have had new owners, have begun complaining about tips. My co-worker tipped $7 for a $20 manicure and the nail technician complained, out-loud, that the tip was not enough. a month ago I tipped $10 on a $35 mani/pedi and the nail technician started to be very rude to me after that. I was there again this week and one of the employees was complaining to me that her customer only tipped her $10 for a $35 mani/pedi, saying out loud for the whole salon to hear that it should have been $20. It feels like they are now bullying people into tipping 50% rather then 20%-25%. read more

If I could give less than one star I would. I have never been treated so rudely while I was trying to relax and spend some time on myself. I was having a nice conversation with the woman next to me and while in the middle of getting up to go dry my nails we were still talking. I was sitting at the drying station and noticed that the girl who did my nails was looking at me and whispering to another woman -- clearly about me... Then the girl she was talking to came over and ASKED me if I was going to leave a tip. I have gotten my nails done many times and know it is custom to tip AFTER your nails are dry. I picked 2 OPI colors to choose from and was told they charge $5 more for one of them (it so not gel polish, it's not a different kind of application), why? I decided on a whim to get my nails done today. I walked in, was immediately helped, and taken care of even though I did not have an appt. I was amazed to see that they had more gel nail polish colors than I have seen anywhere else. The color I chose ended up being a very transparent color so after two coats, my nails still looked very light. The beautician noticed before I did that they were very light, and said she was going to put a third coat on them. I loved that she noticed this and took extra time to make sure that my nails were perfect! The store was clean, and I was very relaxed there. I went for a gel manicure and regular pedicure which is marketed for $45 but they charged me $50... not a huge deal. However, less than 24 hours later and two of my gel nails have peels off almost completely. I am a regular here and I've been going for about a year or so. The inside isn't outdated to me, they have a flat screen TV and awesome pedicure chairs. The staff is the greatest. They are friendly and welcoming. They know both me and my boyfriend and take time to say hi to us even if we are just passing by. They do nice work and take off money here and there on my bill. I was five or 10 minutes late for an appt because my mother has been ill. I had an appt. and they would not take me for both services which I had an appt. I had explained about my mom's health as well as my new all over the place work schedule, it meant nothing to them. Kenny was nasty and unprofessional, refused my appt. The girl who did my pedicure ripped open the skin around my toe. She had no clue how to trim toe nail corners. They badgered me for payment and they speak in their language about you while you are sitting at their station. I had an awful and unprofessional experience at Kim's Nails. I sincerely hope people choose another salon. This one is not even "good enough" for the birds. There are plenty of professional nail salons which are run geared towards their good name and excellent service. I went there only because they're open Sunday for my new work schedule. No more. Back to Rockledge Nails which has always been run with a professional owner and some very experienced technicians. read more
