I get several weekly visits from nurses. And aides which include supplies and getting medicines. I am given baths,washings. The staff works with us to fit our schedule too. My wife who was having to deal with so much by figuring it out on her own is greatly relieved to have this staff offering direction, providing materials and services...she would probably give them an even higher rating. I like that they come to my home and l feel comfortable asking their opinions. It is nice not having to worry about getting bed sores or other items that can become serious if not monitored. This is the IU Health - Glendale Town Center practice, a practice devoted to primary care and also…read morepediatrics. There's also a lab available in this office. For those familiar with Glendale Town Center, this is located on the second floor of the offices section of the complex on the side directly off of East 62nd Street. There's a small lobby/storefront area directly next to Mattress Firm that has an elevator that will take you to the second floor. There's also a set of stairs available for those who prefer. I needed to establish care with a new primary care physician as my previous one relocated to Shelbyville and is just a bit too far away for me. I'd previously looked at appointments here, however, they were a couple months out and I skipped it. However, because I attend an IU Health clinic elsewhere they were able to get me in within a couple weeks. They do have automatic doors for those who need them. That's a plus. I also noted very quickly that this was one of the better looking and cleaner IU Health clinics I've experienced. I arrived a good 15-20 minutes before my scheduled check-in time and checked in at the front desk. Because I'm an established IU Health patient, I didn't really need to do much else. I waited in the waiting room until I was called. I was taken back in a timely manner. They asked me how I usually got weighed (I don't usually as most clinics are not set up for wheelchair users) and I did note they didn't have any of the modern tech that would do that without a scale. I was taken into an exam room - very small room that would definitely not be considered ADA compliant. It was so small I had to move quite a bit in order for the employees to get around me. I did like that they had an exam bed that was lower to the ground and adjustable. However, this was definitely not an appropriate room for a wheelchair user. My doctor was Dr. Boyce. We had a nice conversation about my needs for the day. She only works part-time in the clinic and we also discussed that. It was a fine appointment - not outstanding, however, there was really nothing wrong with it. I was somewhat hesitant to establish with IU as they are not the top tier of my insurance, however, Dr. Boyce seems nice and this is very close to my home. So, it should work. My hope is that in the future I can utilize a more appropriate exam room. However, overall, this was a solid experience with friendly staff and a warm, comfortable atmosphere.

After I returned from the hospital that person went AWOL and after two days of being unable to reach her, I was starting to panic. My daughter, who had been there thru my surgery was flying out in less than 30 hours. A friend saw my daughter's post about being in dire need of assistance. This was on a Friday night of all things. Denise Moore came to the rescue with her team. Her caregiver was there early Sunday morning to go over all of my care prior to my daughter's departure. Over the next several days three very professional ladies came and took care of me. They fixed my food, tidied the house, did laundry, changed sheets and even drove me to my post-op appointment. The care, kindness and professionalism was truly wonderful. The fact that they were willing to step in at nearly the 11th hour, in my time of need...I will be forever grateful.

The nurses are wonderful preparing the patients for surgery. I'm a hard stick and the nurses always bring in the best and I've never been disappointed in their skill sets. The nurses are friendly, laid-back, informative, take excellent care of the patients and bring calm to nervous patients. Sometimes the surgeons have to push back surgery times but the nurses are excellent keeping patients updated. There is free parking in a large parking area with a few steps to the main entrance. The check-in desk is clearly marked as you enter and takes only seconds. The registration process took less than 5 minutes and afterwards I was walked directly to the radiology department. The staff was fabulous to work with and after my first appointment the tech walked me directly to the next department I had an appointment at. Both techs explained the procedures thoroughly and left me without questions. I was in and out in less than an hour for two appointments. Love how quickly and efficiently they work at this facility. Check if they are in your network and give them a try. I've never be disappointed and I don't think you'll be either.

If you want your loved one to be treated with respect, dignity, and appropriate care this is NOT…read morethe place. Fact, I visit my loved one at least every 3-4 days. Each time I am emptying and cleaning the bedside commode filled with urine and feces, table tops, bed anything my loved one is touching in the room. My love one bed covers and clothes smell of urine, why because she does not have the disposable underpants available in the room. They accuse her of not asking however, I have asked on a Thursday and have gone back on Sunday and still none where available in the room. I asked again and waited for them; this time I was given the correct size. My loved one stores her soiled clothes hidden in drawers and stuffed behind her bed. She attempts to wash her clothes in the sink because it's embarrassing for her when she soils her clothes or bedding because she has no supplies, I have had to ask for toilet paper. This place ignores patients calls for help for long periods of time. My loved room partner called for help several times; the help light was flashing above the door. An outside health worker (that was visiting my loved one) went seeking help down the hall at the nurse's station, however no one was around, in the meantime the patient began to get up (wheelchair dependent). After a while I went to seek help, no one was in the hall. After some time, I saw a staff member walk passed the room I went out to tell her, and she said I'll be in in a minute. I had told her the patient had got out of the bed. She enters the room telling the patient she should not be out of bed on her own. This was very concerning to me because the patient had time to pull herself up out of bed and was holding on to her dining tray. 15-20 may not sound like much time but she could have fallen and hurt herself seriously. Not addressing or forgetting to assist patients' needs is unacceptable. I have had to ask for OTC pain medicine (topical) for my loved one and have applied it myself because my loved one was forgotten or staff had not had the time to address the request, my longest wait was an hour and a half, too long. This is just a few of the reason why patients' well-beings are being compromised. You have to be an on-site advocate for your loved one to get any help. I feel sorry for patients who have no one to advocate for them while they are in this place. THINK TWICE BEFORE PUTTING YOUR LOVED ONE IN THIS INSTITUTION. Treating every person with respect, compassion, and empathy, recognizing their inherent worth, autonomy, and individuality, regardless of health status, age, or dependency level is NOT happening with my loved one and other patients at the institution.

After about a month, I realized my mom needed more one on one care so I asked the care giver for the name of her company. I met with the owner Pattie when she did her assessment of my mom and hired CCC the next day. From that point forward I was able to relax knowing that my mom was in good hands with competent care givers that could assist me with my mom's care. They went above and beyond, especially just prior to my mom's passing. They took care of all of us, not just my mom.

She asked if I would need mostly mornings because those are busiest times but they "would make it work". One date I gave I said could be very flexible with time just let me know what works. She said she would pass info onto Patti. I have yet to receive any phone call or follow up. First appointment was for today 8/6. From one nurse to another I guess my expectations were too high!
