Kindred Flooring is so much more than a flooring company. We initially met with Kindred Flooring to redo all the floors in our house, but because of its versatility, we ended up agreeing to do a major interior remodel with Kindred. In a shared project between Rachel at Kindred and Frank from Navajo Contractors, the scope of our project included replacing our floors, overhauling our fireplace facade, tweaking the layout of our living area, scraping off our popcorn ceiling, painting the entire interior and installing new lighting throughout. What put us most at ease with such a large job was working with Rachel. Where we had strong opinions, Rachel did well to work within the constraints we provided. And when we couldn't make a decision, Rachel made great suggestions that saved us time and put us at peace because we had full trust in her design eye. And when the work actually began, the communication with Frank about the project's progress was timely and efficient. Rachel and her team at Kindred Flooring superbly renovated all of our flooring (replaced engineered wood and carpeting damaged by dogs). The results provide us with a dog-puppy-proof home that is also updated and easy to maintain. Rachel guided us through the selection of the appropriate products for our flooring. Her industry knowledge and experience plus infinite patience helped us pick just the right materials. She worked with us on scheduling so that we could have the entire project done in 3 stages to fit our needs. I wanted to deal only with one contractor for purchasing materials and installation. Rachel's team of installers were efficient, punctual, clean, knowledgeable and helpful. Lisa was also super helpful. The showroom is well organized and maintained with products for every budget. We completed the entire project on budget - no small feat given the supply chain issues. (It helped that we purchased and stored all the LVT 4 months prior to our project installation to avoid further price increases by the manufacturer.) Kindred's pricing was fair and appropriate for the level of service and materials selected. After completing the flooring and carpeting at the end of 2021, we flooded our kitchen and dining areas in January, 2022 and had 2 inches of standing water from a broken under-sink water filter. Even though the new baseboards, the kitchen sink cabinet, and some drywall had to be replaced, the floors were PERFECTLY DRY!!! Kindred flooring and Navajo Construction recently installed brand new floors, baseboards and door casings throughout our house. Rachel was very helpful during the process and patient as I worked through all the small details of the project. She answered all of my questions, had excellent suggestions and helped to problem solve my biggest concerns. When I was uncertain about the floor choice, they were able to coordinate with Crystal Flooring (which is local) so that I could see the full boards in person. We chose to go with their "Deep Sea Collection -Venice" which turned out lovely. It had nice warm and cool tones and it looks great everywhere in the house. When it was discovered that the office had an old asbestos flooring under the carpet they were able to use a reducing technique so that there was not a noticeable transition. Navajo construction worked with Kindred to meet our requests to update some door casings with craftsman styled casings. When an extra door casing was mistakenly removed, they were honest and took care of it at no extra cost. The results were beautiful.
