I just completed the basic pistol course with United Shooting Solutions yesterday and it was an…read moreamazing learning experience and a fun day! Can't remember when I had so much fun in a day! Dan was very detailed and went through various aspects of safety and gun handling before we started with the actual course. He looked at every aspect from how I held the pistol and helped me learn how to detect problems in the way I was shooting and how to correct them. We started with the very basics and Dan did not rush me. When he felt I was comfortable with the very basics, he gradually increased the complexity and which helped me improve my skill. The best part was that it was 1:1, so I had enough time to ask questions and he was more than willing to answer them and explain more. I will surely be going for the next course after I practice more of what I have learned! I will highly recommend Dan for first time shooters for sure and also experienced marksman.

Since I was installing the barrel myself, the gunsmith gave me several suggestions which I am glad I followed. I stopped by HawkTech again today, and again found the staff to be very attentive and friendly. I guess I had missed the Ruger 10/22 corner of the store on my first visit but this time my attention was draw to the collection of Ruger based rifles and noticed that the prices were very fair and low. So low that I will be buying another Ruger 10/22 for my wife and it will be purchased at HawkTech. Then I noticed all the parts and accessories that were on display. I had to use great restraint and control for I can predict that HawkTech will become a regular hangout for me.

I went in to see if I could simply trade it in towards something that I wanted. I would've gladly taken almost any offer and made up the balance on a new gun. The store was completely empty, and a young man walked out and said "can I help you" and proceeded to walk over to a computer and start typing at it and I asked him are you in the middle of something, are you helping me? It was so awkward...I said, I'd like to trade in a new unfired gun that I won here in a raffle and put it towards purchasing something here that I'd actually like to own. He told me "that gun was most likely donated by our vendor and we have no interest in buying it back". I said to him so that's it. We're done here? He responded back "yes". I said "would you like to check with the owner before you just dismiss me? "He said "I'm the manager and I make the decisions" His tone was so dismissive and I felt so disrespected. Given that it was a holiday week and a Friday and the store was completely empty and the selection of guns was so sparse. I can't help but think that MidStar arms isn't doing that great. I worked in Customer Service for almost 4 decades, and this manager was very dismissive and disrespectful. I completely realize it's my decision to no longer give them any of my business because there are just way too many local gun shops that treat their customers with more respect. Definitely not a strong move to make your customers feel so unimportant. I personally will make sure to tell all my friends to please bring their business elsewhere.

It was educational, engaging, and so much fun for the whole family. Every instructor and staff member we interacted with was incredibly kind, welcoming, and patient. They took the time to answer questions and made everyone feel comfortable. You can tell they're passionate about what they do and genuinely care about creating a safe, positive environment. We left with a greater appreciation for the work these K9 teams do, and our kids haven't stopped talking about it. We highly recommend checking them out--we'll definitely be back!

I usually go to cabelas but we were over at the big albertsons so we popped in to see if they had anything we might need. every person we encountered the entire time was so friendly. even though they were clearly under staffed they were all very kind. the man at the knife counter was very knowledgeable and friendly. the prices were good too- and they had a coupon for $20 off every single order of $100 or more. I did not know about this- the checker just applied it for us and told us about it. she did not have to do that! it was really cool and a good surprise. I think this place is a good competitor for cabelas and if you haven't been in you should go check them out.

Ordered three low-dollar items online for in-store pickup today. Drove to the retail store 2 hours…read moreafter ordering. Nobody manning the pickup desk, so I got in the pay-line. When it was my turn, I told them my last name and indicated order-pickup. I was told the items hadn't been pulled yet. Counter person said it can sometimes take 5-6 hours, or even a few days, to get online order items pulled and ready. I asked if I could just go get the items myself from the shelves, come back, match them up against my email-received receipt, and take them with me? Nope. Can't do that. Said I would have to go home, cancel the order online, and drive back to the store. I wasn't going to do that. Asked them if they could just cancel the order here at the checkout counter? Nope, can't do that. Said they could give me the 1-800 number to call to cancel the order, which I called, from the parking-lot. Operator said she would submit the cancellation, but that it could take 2-3 business days to process. All of this was utterly obtuse and inconvenient. When getting home, I found that the website doesn't allow cancellation of an order online anyway. The final insult? When I returned home I received an email that my order was ready for pickup. So much wrong with this. Never again, Sportsman's. Long time customer who now will not spend another dime with you. The logistics were inefficient enough, but it was the we-don't-care attitude that was acute.
