I sought a way to message them rather than submit a review. No way on FB, or their website. So this is just to the item I bought - maybe their other items are good. But I have to say stay away from the pineapple upside down cake. The saddest PUC I have ever tasted. $10 for a small, and after we tried small slices, it was awful - we tossed in the trash. If this had any brown sugar you could not taste it. Not everyone makes with brandy - that's fine. But dry, flavorless - even the pineapple was so-so. People were really nice. Will I return....probably not. If you go here, just avoid the PUC for sure. read more

Whenever I am back in town to visit family, my first stop when I get off the plane is King Arthur's Pasties. I have loved them since I worked there as a teenager. They are delicious, satisfying and one of the few things that have not declined in quality. The bakery is outstanding and nothing is better than a King Arthur's beef pasty with gravy. I do wish there was seating though. read more

Don't get me wrong, King Arthur's is a fine place to go for pasties. In fact, there isn't anywhere nearby that can compete with them, so that probably deserves five starts in itself. I just had to tone it down a little bit because some of the other reviews were slightly generous. These pasties are good and should be enjoyed when you're in the area or driving through (they have two locations in the Flint area). These are not the best pasties, but they can hold their own and in the Lower Peninsula, that's all you need from a pasty shop. The crust needs some work, but the overall flavor gets the job done. One of the previews reviews said this is "one of the greatest places on earth" and another said they only had their cookies. I'm just being a realist here with four stars. Good pasties, but not the best. read more

I got a slice of German chocolate cake and a beef pasty. It's amazing. Both of them! The chocolate cake is perfectly sweet and chocolaty. It melts in your mouth. I can't stop eating it. I wish I got the whole cake. The pasty is really filling. I asked for gravy on the side and it's so good. I'm definitely going back for more baked goods!! read more

I was personal on a call in my car and they turned there lights off. I should have just gotten my pie. I special order the rhubarb/strawberry pie. Customer service not that great when I entered the store The day before. There was an older man and woman who helped me who were nice. I paid for the pie in advance. I just wanted them to hand me the pie and didn't receive it Bc they were closed. I called and restated what said at the door. I was CORDIAL. I did not want to go in. I will not ever go there again after I pick my pie Tomorrow. I'll stick to my regular pastry store. I'm sure the pie is going to be good but a lil disappointing. I probably will not ever buy or order again from there. I'm a lil worried abt picking it up tomorrow. Customer service is important and this was my first time going there today and yesterday. You pay around $15+ for a cake that comes from a box! One employee spits while they talk (can't be good around food) and have routinely lost or "misplaced" orders & had an "oh well" response. The quality of their products have went downhill within the last year. I think the owners need to retire & close. P.S. I couldn't give it zero stars! read more

King Arthur's has been our families go to for cakes and sweet treats for over 30 years and every time I am amazed at the assortment of freshly baked goodies on display every day! I LOVE the No Bakes and the German Chocolate cake! Thank you for keeping our family tradition alive! read more

My family lived in Marquette for a year when I was 13. They served pasties in the school cafeteria at least once a week for lunch. I got beat up a lot in school, especially at lunch time, so I don't have many good memories associated with pasties. Whenever I feel like I'm having too good of a day and could use a punch in the gut, I head over to King Arthur's for a frickin' awesome pasty. I have yet to surrender a King Arthur's pasty to a bully. I don't think they know I go there. They have good desserts too. read more

Known in the area for the pasties. They are handmade and worth the trip. They will toast them in the oven there all you have to do is ask. This is the BEST way to have them. Yum! I have not tried the pies but have heard they are to die for. read more

This is one of the greatest places on Earth! Hands down, the best pasties and baked goods I have EVER had. I have been enjoying King Arthur's wonderful food for more than 20 years now. I moved away from Michigan to Washington, DC ten years ago and every time I come home to visit family in Waterford, I always make the drive up to King Arthur's to load up on freezer packs of pasties. It is well worth the one and a half hour round trip. Everything here is made from scratch. The crust they use in their pasties and pies has completely impressed a number of old-school pie crust aficionados in my family who have been making scratch crusts forever as being the best crust they have tasted. The pasties are just wonderful. I have tried the handful of other pasty shops located around southeastern Michigan and have tried many from northern Michigan and I think King Arthur's are by far the best. My favorite is their beef pasty smothered in gravy and black pepper. They also offer frozen pasties to bring home and reheat. I bring a cooler with me and load it up with pasties to bring back to DC. It is such a treat to be able to eat these little bits of heaven so far away from Michigan. The fun doesn't stop there though, they also offer an unbelievable quiche. It comes in a few different varieties and they are all exceptional. The baked goods are out of this world as well. Their cream pies are amazing. I love the banana cream, chocolate cream and coconut cream....I can't pick a favorite because they are all equally great. The brownies are the best ever and all the cookies are tops. The people who work here are some of the nicest and friendliest people you will ever run across. The place is small and located on the corner of a small strip mall. I can't say enough about what a wonderful place this is. I would even go as far to say that this is my favorite place to eat at ANYWHERE. Keep up the great work King Arthur's, you have provided me with such great food and memories over the years and you have a customer for life no matter how far away I live. read more

No complaint about the delicious products. But we were treated impatiently at the Grand Blanc store the day before the Superbowl. We were discussing what size bread to get and the woman behind the counter kept slamming down different sized boxes rather than waiting until we made our decision. She looked at us like we were idiots and wasting her time. We were deciding what to take to a Superbowl party the next day and it only took a few minutes. She could have waited until we decided instead of listening in and grabbing boxes. When you hand over your money, you shouldn't feel like you ruined someone's day. read more
