As far as all ou can eat buffets go, this place is a winner. It serves the typical fare, lots of Chinese food and a sampling of sushi. The sushi is a nice touch, this place also has a great clam and oyster bar for dinner as well as the crowd favorite crab legs. The reason this place scores so high for being an AYCE buffet is because it's so popular, there's a high turnover rate for the food, which means, the food is generally hot and fresh. The bad part about this place is that it's so busy, it's often crowded on weekends, and you have to wait for a table. The wait is usually quick though. The crab legs are so popular that there is always a line for the crab legs. They run out often and you are stuck waiting for a new tray to come out. I like that the crab legs are fresh, but hate the set up they have. If you know there's gonna be a line, then perhaps set up more than one measly tray? Well!!! King Buffet is by far one of the loudest and cramped restaurant in the area! They do have a few good choices to choose from....crab legs at dinner only, spare ribs, sautéed veggies, Frozen ice cream, and a very tasty cheese cake! With that said, they have waiters that if they do not like their job should change their profession!! Our server was one in a million !! Not a happy camper!! One pot of tea for 8 people and we had to keep asking him for things. The noise level here is really high and the heat from the steam tables makes it uncomfortable ... They should crank up the a/c. Went here for my birthday with my future mother-in-law, fiancée, and some of their relatives. Only about $20 per person (I think--they treated me), and the selection is enormous & delicious. I don't know what Robert C. was talking about--the sushi was fresh (and, believe me, at a buffet this is rare), the crab legs were edible (!!), the peel & eat shrimp were probably deveined (and the shit sack removed), and the steam duck buns were amazing. The only critcism is they kicked us out after an hour--my fiancée's family is Italian, so they tend to spend a lot of time eating/socializing. But at least they did it subtly. read more

I have been to several Chinese buffet restaurants and usually am appalled by the food. Usually the meat isn't fresh, the sushi looks soggy and the quality is normally below average. However, I was pleasantly surprised to come here and enjoy my meal. I was spending the day with family and someone had told my mother that the food was good here. We were skeptical at first but starving and a buffet seemed like a good way to go. The dinner option is $17 per adult and cheaper for children. That is more than reasonable for ALL YOU CAN EAT! When we entered the place, I noticed it was a little bland looking. It could definitely use a remodeling. However, that is a superficial complaint - which isn't very important. You don't necessarily come to a buffet expecting it to look like a palace. It was also very busy. We had a 20 minute wait, which was good and bad. Bad, because we were starving but good because that means that people recognize the restaurant. Despite this, the service overall was great. As soon as my plate was finished, the bus boys cleared it out so I could have room for my next. The food was definitely better than I expected. Way more options than your typical buffet, and the platters are being refilled constantly. The fried dumplings, spare ribs, lo-mein, dim sum, sesame chicken and powdered dough were definitely my favorites! They also have a selection of American food to offer and lots of desserts! They have ice cream, pudding, fruits, cheesecake, and other cake options. Everything was good. I can't say I didn't like anything I tried. One of my favorite buffets! I haven't been here in years but I went a few days ago. All the food is excellent! I think it was like $15 a person but they have lunch specials. They do have a huge selection of seafood which is so tasty for seafood lovers. I did feel bad for my bf who is allergic but he said he enjoyed the food for what he could eat. -I do think they shouldn't add crab on all the sushi because he can eat fish but there was crab on everything limiting his options. But the crab legs are my favorite FRESH and YUUUMY All the shrimp is excellent, chicken and brocc, rice, lo mein, fried chicken, beef all really food. Cheesecake was the only dessert I liked. My family loves this place, especially my little brother who always chooses this as his birthday dinner spot. Their buffet is always clean and stocked. They have a ton of items to try and always seem to have new items every time we go. I love their fried rice, dumplings, and egg rolls. Its a GREAT place to bring the family as everyone can get something they like - they have pizza, french fries, chicken nuggets, etc. for those who aren't huge Chinese food fans. As a fan of eating, I can tell you that King Buffet is one of the best Buffets that I have been to. The food is consistently fresh, great variety, and nothing ever get's over-cooked. Usual problems with buffets are usually absent here (e.g., there are enough crab legs for all, seldom crowding at the tables, etc.). If you want to sample a variety of foods and have a good time, head to the King. Just don't head there between 6 - 8:30 PM on Friday, Saturday, or Sunday or you'll be waiting awhile! Surprisingly good. Maybe the best Chinese buffet in the US I've tried so far (of the 20 or so). From my general observation on the food, I think they're 2 keys to their success. One, they're busy so food is replenished constantly. Two, they don't over offer. Maybe because the place is small. There's only 3 main islands of food including sushi and dessert so what they make they make pretty well (for text book americanized Chinese food). . From the app section I liked the hot n sour soup, breaded jumbo shrimp, chicken/shrimp scallion dumplings, pork dumpling, teriyaki wings and the black vinegar soy dipping sauce on the side. From the mains I really liked the salt and pepper squid which was tender and crunchy and though no doubt a frozen product tasted pretty fresh. Fried rice, chicken & broc, pepper steak and bok choy were typical. (There was a lot more too I didn't try). If you appreciate good or even decent sushi I wouldn't waste my time. It's what you'd expect - not great quality, too cold, heavy on the rice and fake crabmeat everywhere Aside from the dry cookies, jello and soft ice cream they had one authentic Chinese dessert which was great - the sesame ball with black bean paste. As good as I've had in Manhattan or Flushing. As for service, I'm not sure what people expect from a buffet. The wait staff speaks little english but are efficient at taking drink orders and clearing the tables. That's all I expected of them and they delivered just fine. Went there on 8-11-12 in the evening. Had a coupon for $1 off. Gave us a hard time over this $1 coupon even though the expiration was the end of August. They claimed it had expired since it was part of their Father's Day ad. Yet, coupon itself was still good. No manager on site and they indicated owner was in China. Very little English is spoken here. Aggravation for absolutely no reason. Only reason to stay was the price, the raw clams and oysters, the shrimp, crab legs, and sashimi. I LOVE King Buffet. It's easily the best Chinese buffet around. There's always a big dinner crowd so the hotel pans are always turning over, keeping the buffet tables fresh. This place is nice. Basically your generic Chinese buffet, nothing more, nothing less. They have the usual crab legs, raw bar, noodle dishes, fried food, ect. I do like the fact that they replace dishes pretty fast and if they missed one you can just point it out and they'll replace it. They have soft serve ice cream, just vanilla,chocolate, and swirl. They put some sprinkles and such by the machine. Basically it's a nice place to go if you're in the area and want a nice buffet. This is a great buffet with very good business. You may have to wait at times even though there must be over 50 tables onesies. They have sushi and a variety of soups. Wasn't impressed, but I am not a fan of buffets. My son and my husband wanted to try it and I went along. Food was OK, typical greasy options. I was turned off by the person cleaning around the fruit who tossed a piece of watermelon back in the bowl after she had wiped around the counter.
