The hot and sour soup was ok but not great The egg foo young omelet was good but the accompanying sauce was horrible- almost grey with lumps- not edible! Should have been brown and saucy. Giving four stars as 1/2 stars aren't an option. What a terrific little find!! Very unassuming---typical chinese takeout inside. A few tables, the requisite photos above the counter. They have combo plates so I ordered the shrimp with lobster sauce and wonton soup instead of an egg roll. Food. Was. Solid. Wonton soup flavor was perfect and the dumplings didn't have that super-thick skin. Shrimps were large and dish was very flavorful. Will go back and try a few other dishes to confirm but was very happy! read more

Ive lived local for decades and the owners here seem tired and they skimp lately.. yet raise prices unabashedly. Over the years I have overlooked the owner's unapologetic rudeness when taking orders and checking out, bc the food was decent. Now the place is dirty, the food has become soo subpar, its not even worth it. With the amount of good restaurants within a few miles, we will go elsewhere esp after our last order which was bland and basically all cabbage with little to no vegetables; tasting nothing like it used to. read more

If you want something quick and cheap, this is an ok place for Chinese food. Sadly, there aren't any formal Chinese restaurants as a lot of these walk up restaurants have squeezed out the formal Chinese restaurants. The food here is ok, the prices are fair and the service is not great. Don't take the abrupt manner of the lady taking your order personally. She is not intending to be rude, but can come across that way. Just know that you are in there to order your food and take it home. If you want to sit there and eat, you can but you are better off taking it home with you. They have lunch special prices and dinner special prices. I come here for a quick fix of Chinese food, but not to have a great dining experience. read more

I called for an order to go. When I arrived to pick up my food no one behind the counter was wearing a mask, including the guy who was standing over and cooking my food. When I said something about this, the woman behind the counter did not understand me at first but then eventually grabbed her mask off of the counter and put it on. If they are reckless enough to not wear masks within eyesight of the public I hate to think of what goes on behind the scenes. read more

We ordered base on a friend's recommendation. Our dinner was fantastic! It was not greasy or salty. Vegetables were fresh and tasty with nothing over-seasoned. Dinner included a dish called Home Special Pan Fried Noodles. The vegetables were fresh and not over-cooked. The pork and chicken and shrimp were excellent...the shrimp were very fresh. The noodles were outstanding. It was great to find a place so close to home with great food at very reasonable prices. Wonderful take-out. Go there! read more

Solid Chinese takeout spot. I tried a bunch of places in the area for lo mein and fried rice, and this was my favorite for both. The dumplings are also pretty good, if you like the thicker wrapper style (vs. thin gyoza style). We get a variety of other basics and are always happy with them. I see a couple of comments on the service; in my experience they are brisk and all business, but never rude and always reasonable with timing. We order from here about once a month and they are our go-to spot for this kind of stuff. read more

This is mostly overly priced with no flavor Chinese take out place I've ever experienced. I am beyond angry about what they served. The seafood chow mai fun has a few shrimps and fake crab meat with absolutely no flavor....that was it for $13! Shrimp dumplings skins are so thick that it didn't even cook through. Came here after reading Yelpers comments about the unique square scallion pancakes. Apparently that's where the uniqueness ends.Otherwise it's your ordinary Chinese take out spot.I'll stick with Hunan Garden,just around the corner on North State Road. read more

Terrible customer service. The girl who answers the phone is extremely rude. When I asked to speak to the manager I was told there is no manager. How are you running a business without an manager? Also stay away from any meal containing beef. The color was very suspect and I threw it away at the risk of getting sick. read more

This place is the perfect quick Chinese take out, some dishes really are great and you can not go wrong - ribs, Singapore noodles are my favorites but I am going to try the shrimp Lo mein after reading another review and great prices. Glad to have them in the neighborhood. read more

I made an order here an hour ago forgetting that the lady on the phone has been rude to me before. We gave them the benefit of the doubt however she was not very nice when we ordered. got our food an hour later missing two of our items. I called to pay them. Then I found out it was missing two of our ordered items that we paid for. I told her she said the guy was coming back cutting me off. They came back with one of the missing items and when we called back for the other missing item she claimed she "could not hear me". The service here is bad while the food is ok I think their very poor costumer service is more significant than their eh Chinese when you can go five minutes away anywhere else. WOULD NOT RECOMMEND!!! read more

This place is the worst. I still have a sick stomach over 24 hours after eating this take out food. It's certainly not fresh, that's for sure. We had shrimp with mixed vegetables, which must have been tainted, sesame chicken, which the next day I tried to heat up & cut it open, the chicken was grey so I threw it out. Also they told us 15 minutes but when we got there, it was actually 45 minutes. The place doesn't look clean & they have a real attitude. NEVER AGAIN! read more

Since Oriental Garden and Magic Wok have closed (both places' food had been more and more disappointing as time went on) we were desperate for decent Chinese. So we gave China City a try. Wouldn't you know it? Really pretty good. Fried pork dumplings were much more flavorful than one might expect. The lo mein was strong...plenty of meat. And my kids gave a thumbs up to the sesame chicken which was delivered still crispy and fresh. Hopefully this can become our new regular take out spot. read more

Food is so-so but they get a big kudos for service. I showed up about 2 minutes before closing. The place was packed up an the owners were walking out the door. Instead of telling me to "beat it" they hopped behind the counter , took my order and made me a happy man. Big up to China City! read more
