Our company picnic was held at this park last week and it was the perfect spot! Of course, there was no 'lazing' under any trees for us as we played various games and ran around like idiots for a few hours! There are plenty of open, flat areas near the baseball diamonds for relay races, egg tosses and the like. Although there are plenty of benches situated along the paths, there doesn't seem to be any picnic tables in the 'grassy' areas around the park or under trees making it somewhat awkward during the BBQ. As with all parks in Toronto, a permit is required when holding an event or gathering of 25 people or more but they are relatively quick and easy to obtain.

Although aware of this park having grown up in Markham, hubby and I "rediscovered" this park together during our walks around Main Street during the pandemic. I was surprised to discover that the park has multiple access points including from Krieghoff Avenue, Pomander Road, as well as the aforementioned streets. I was also surprised to learn from Google that Crosby Arena and the Unionville curling club are situated within the park's boundaries. There is a baseball diamond located behind the curling club, and a soccer field located closer to the west side of the park. Playground equipment is also available. There are multiple benches lining the path that circles the soccer field. Parking can be found behind the curling club adjacent to the baseball field. Main Street and it's associated restaurants and businesses are located within a short walking distance.

The water park is really lackluster, no one uses it. The gazebo is regularly occupied in the morning by Asian grannies doing tai chi. A sight to behold. The south has a baseball field, a larger playground, a skatepark, a basketball court, two more tennis courts, and another soccer field. This half is often bustling with activity, especially in the summer. The place looks right proper and is well-maintained by the staff. The pond is a nice touch that is surrounded by the verdant fields. If you haven't come to this place for a little walk, give it a try. Just look out for the geese.

Centennial Park is wonderful. A quiet, but not too quiet, little escape. Free parking is a bonus, with a beautiful conservatory as you enter full of lush greenery and plants galore, you'll be sure to spend a couple of lazy afternoons here. You can take a nice stroll around, sit by the river, play disc golf or even have a barbecue with friends or family. Definitely one I will be visiting again. You know the ones that are essentially Flinstone cars come to life? They look fun, and apparently at this park it's understood that people keep their larger outdoor toys there and let all the kids share. Very Canadian. The only reason this small, hipster-free park isn't a full five stars is because there are no bathrooms around it, and so you have to walk to Hawaii bar (Dovercourt at Hallam) or your house or a friend's house to take a pee. A pee that you will desperately need as you chug lemonade, aged grape juice and tall cans of American soda.
