Wow! These guys are awesome! Hovo and his Dad are truly the nicest and most professional in this business. As a woman I felt extremely comfortable and safe. They are extremely punctual and pay attention to detail. If I could give them ten stars I would. We needed protection grilles for our 19 windows and a balcony railing. Within a couple of days we had our estimate, and within the next week they returned and took measurements. We were afraid that the house would look like a jail but their unique and elegant design made it more like a decorative piece for our windows than just protection bars. Hovo and his designer came up with custom design with cool accents by the first try. Believe me, their iron craftsmanship is stunning, solid, and second to none. The grilles fit the windows perfectly and have brought our house value up (no joke). We've had a lot of contractors and so-called craftsmen at our house since we started renovations on our 1924 house in Silver Lake a few years ago. We're trying to restore how the house might have looked at the beginning of the 20th century after countless bad decisions & poor "improvements" by previous owners, which actually made the house look like a sick mutt. Unfortunately, not very many of these "experts" we've had round have been much use at realizing our dream. Many rows and arguments later it got to the point where I wasn't trusting anyone in LA to do a good job. But we needed a railing on the front steps (a previous owner had obviously thought it would be a good idea to dismantle the original steps and remove the old iron railings). After much research we found king ironworks. Thank god we did. I gave them a raft of photos I'd taken of a old 1920s railing on a house down the street & king managed to copy it exactly. It's thick, heavy (it took three men to carry it up the steps) metal and looks like it has been sat on our front steps for 100 years, which is exactly what we wanted to achieve. read more

Someone from King Iron came to my house to discuss my project. I wanted a gate and fencing for my phase 1. He said he would get me the drawings in a couple of days. It is now about 3 weeks and haven't heard a word from him or seen a drawing. If a company changes their mind about doing work for you the least they should do is let you know. It is unkind for a company to know they made a promise to a person and then just decided not to work for them and not tell them. The company has to know that the person is losing a lot of time in not calling another company until they figure out the company is never going to keep their promise. I wasted time thinking I would hear from them. I have given up on King Iron Works. I'm moving on and hoping that the next iron works company not only does quality work but has good work ethics and good manners. read more

Exceptional service. I recently bought my house and needed elegant iron around my balcony and rails across the outside of my house. The quality and craftsmanship of King is amazing Prices: Prices were very reasonable. I am a chepo trust me! I shopped everywhere and the deal I got at King was the best for what I wanted...and I wanted to good stuff. I have had no rust issues, its easy to maintain and to top it off it looks stunning! Arin the Owner is a great Guy, and his Team does great work. Quality is high, and pricing is fair. The only advice that I'd give to new clients is to agree on a firm finish date, especially if you're not a contractor. They can get pretty busy, as their work is in high demand. read more

It's not even worth 1 star. Called for an estimate to replace a 5 foot piece of metal railing. My first estimate was $2230.00. After questioning this price I was told that they made a mistake and the new price was 1230.00. Called Zeus ironworks and they fixed it the same day for $$$150.00. Looks like new. After reading such glowing reviews about King Iron Works, I decided to call them regarding a security window guard. I did so and sent pics of what I would like on the 14th of March. They sent me an estimate and I in turn sent them the signed contract along with a deposit on the 22nd of March. They originally told me it would take a week. I told them that I was going out of town on the 5th of April for 2.5 weeks and would like it installed by the 4th if possible. Nothing happened. I returned from my trip on the 22nd and called them that day to find out when the unit would be installed figuring it had to be ready and awaiting installation. They called back and said it would be installed on May 2nd. This was 10 days from my call. This tells me that they had not even started working on my project and I got it confirmed when they called me on May 1st asking me what color I wanted it painted. Needless to say, I was disappointed. What was supposed to take a week, took 6 weeks. They finally came on the 2nd of May and installed the window guard. After they left, I took a closer look and discovered it was not level. They had to come back and make adjustments. Then I took a closer look at the paint job and see that they just spray painted it and apparently did not even clean off the metal as there were a lot of specks that were spray painted over. While the office personel were nice, I was overall disappointed with the timing (lack of communication), installation and paint job. The design of the window guard, however, was very well done although I had asked that the wrought iron be tubular (rounded) and not flat. That apparently never got communicated to the design folks as I got flat. read more

I needed an unusual fence; I hate straight bars (like a jail), and saw one (a neighbor) that had curvey lines, like a fence. Sent King Iron Works a picture, and they duplicated it very nicely. They were a bit late installing it (a day or two) but knocked another $100 off the price, which was great. Bottom line, the fence is so solid and perfect, I love it. We called King Iron Works to get an iron rail mounted on our front steps. They did an outstanding job from beginning to end. They consulted with us on design options and listened carefully to all our requests. They were friendly and knowledgeable and had many helpful suggestions. The design process included several visits to our house to make sure the design met our needs and would match with the rest of our entryway and yard. The installation and final product were beautiful. None of our gardening or brickwork were marred.
