The place looks OK could use a better upkeep but they have a good selection of regular and exotic beers that you dnt see everywhere and some exclusive ones too. I spoke their sales rep Alex who directed me to their new website, which shows what kegs are available. He also explained everything I needed to know, since I know nothing about beer or kegs. I'm new to kegerators and needed to refill my co2. When I came in I met Tariq who didn't hesitate to help me with every question I had. He identified the problem that I was having with my regulator, answered various questions I had about proper care with kegs, and even called his friend to ask where I can return a helium tank because they don't work with helium at King Keg. He then gave me a lesson on whiskey which lead me to the bottle that was awarded the highest rating ever given by wine enthusiast. This was by far the best customer service I've ever experienced and the knowledge went far beyond the surface level. I've been buying kegs from Tariq for my annual birthday keg party for 4 years, and these guys really take good care of me. According to my Irish friends, we had the best keg of Guiness they've had since they left Ireland. Then a keg of Kona Longboard. Then a keg of Newcastle. Somehow that keg had a pressure issue, and they sent a guy up with a new tap at 10pm to get it sorted. It worked enough to get beer out of the keg and the party continued. I spoke the next day with Tariq and described the problem, and he promised a free keg for the following year's party. I called a couple weeks ago to order a keg fo Stella, and he remembered the problem and his promise and hooked it up. They deliver the keg to Venice, set it up, and pick it up when it's empty. Eric and the other delivery guys are super professional, and call before they head over to see if I need any more ice (buy it from them if you need! $4 for 20 pounds!) or anything else. There is a right way and wrong way to treat customers. Today, I contacted this location for a delivery. They have been delivering to my home for one year. Today, the owner takes the phone from the worker, and proceeds to yell at me for calling for delivery, stating he doesn't do that. I calmly said, "Look I won't call back again, fine, but you've been delivering to me for one year, and I am in your system. He then proceeded to chew me out, and state he only does app deliveries now, and then hung up the phone. He just lost my business. Sadly, the people that work for him are nice - but, I guess he's too cool for cash. read more

I was very disspointed with this company. There website is beautiful. I called and they said they were busy and would call me back, never did. I called back and they asked me to fill out the form. I did, they never contacted me back. Then i called them back and they wanted to charge an extra $50 more than the site advertised on the key i wanted. I wish I had as good of an experience at King Kegs as the other reviewers had. This was my first time buying a keg and I automatically just went with King Keg for my keg needs. I have also gone to that store to buy some liquor in the past and the night salesman was very nice. I called a sales person and told him that I would need a keg of "Rogue Dead Guy Ale" for a bachelor party I was putting together (I am not sure what his name was but he sounded middle eastern). I tell him that on the internet site, I saw that they had the beer I wanted listed with 2 different prices. $179 for just the keg and $199 for the package #2. And also the same beer with the same volume was listed as costing $199 for just the keg and $220 for the package #2. He doesn't listen to me but tells me that the keg is $199 and I would need to rent the pump and ice bucket for an extra charge... No problem, I would like to know if I could get it for Friday (its Monday afternoon). He quickly tells me that it shouldn't be a problem but someone is looking it up as we speak. Ok, cool, thank you... Then he takes down my drivers license number, name, phone number, address, credit card number, and the 3 digit security code on the back. Even though I tell him that I will be paying for it all in cash in less than an hour. But no problem, and I gave him all the information... The guy that was calling to make sure they can get it by Friday then starts talking to my sales guy in some other language for a bit and when they are done I was asked what time on Friday I need it by. I tell him as soon as I can get it. Then he starts rambling on and on about how he needs to pick it up from the warehouse, drive it here and there and just giving me needless details... I just say, "whatever time I can pick it up, just let me know." Bla bla bla.. "about 2-3pm." Ok, no problem. Then he talks some more to someone there with him (in another language) and gets back on the phone with me and says, "If we cant get this beer, what is another beer you would like." I told him that the beer that I was ordering was my friends favorite beer and that I was throwing him a bachelor party. So that specific beer was really the only beer that I was interested in. He talks some more to someone there. He then tells me that I need to tell him what backup beer I wanted if they cant get my first choice. So I ask him, "when would you know if you can't get the beer that I wanted?" He tells me that I am not listening and says, "listen, if I can't get you your first choice beer, what is your backup beer? What is your backup plan!?" I then tell him that if he cannot get the beer that I wanted then my backup plan would be to get it from somewhere else. "Rogue Dead Guy Ale" is the beer that I am looking for. He then just tells me, "Ok, then get it from somewhere else." "Huh?!? I would rather just get the beer from you guys, but you asked what my backup plan would be if you can't get it. And if you cant get the beer then I will look someone else." "I don't want to be responsible if we cant get the beer you want and you don't have a backup beer. So just get it from somewhere else." Then click... He hung up the phone. It was the weirdest thing. I was not rude at all and I bit my tung through most of the conversation. The only thing I can think of is that he couldn't get the beer that I wanted and was just looking to sell me a "backup plan". So I call a friend of mine who buys kegs frequently for advice and he tells me, "yea those guys over there are #$*@ heads". "You should just try Beverages and More." So I call up a "BevMo" and I tell the first person that I talk to that I am trying to get a keg of "Rogue Dead Guy Ale" for Friday. She asks me to hold for just a second (I hear some typing). She gets back after less than a minute and tells me that the soonest she could get it is Friday. "Perfect!" "When time could I pick it up?" She tells me that the store opens at 10am. "So it will be ready when the store opens?" She gives me a yes sir and then tells me the price... $159... I tell her that is great and that I will also be needing all the gear. So I asked how much is that going to be. She tells me that there is no charge for the gear, just a deposit that I will get back after I return the stuff. Wow... "Do you want my credit card information?" "No, just pay for it when you pick it up." "Thats it?!" "Yes sir." I then just say "wow!.. You wouldn't believe the phone call I just had with a place called King Keg trying to get the same thing." She says, "Oh yea... I have heard a couple stories about that place." I will never go to King Keg for my keg needs and I would recommend that anyone interested in a keg, just go to BevMo (There is one in Torrance). Its not far from king keg, I saved $80 for the same thing, I didn't need to give my personal information over the phone and Bevmo made it feel effortless to get what I wanted. read more

If I could give 0 stars, I would. I cannot believe I almost gave this guy $1200. Thank god I read all your reviews, as it validated the experience I was having with Tariq. As so many other reviewers stated, he started out friendly and seemingly quite accommodating. I was shopping for kegs and kegerators for my wedding. Initially he said that he would buy back any untapped kegs. (Which three days later he claimed he never said.) As the week went on, he got pushier and pushier, saying I should have ordered by now and that I needed to give him a deposit of $600, my drivers license number, address, and other personal information. All before I even had an official invoice! He talked a mile a minute and didn't answer any of my questions. He was rude, unclear, and aggressive. I was still trying to give him the benefit of the doubt and right before I paid him I brought up my concerns. He freaked out and said he wouldn't do business with me. WTF. I began researching other places and realized he was charging me way more for the beer and the rental equipment than other places. I am so glad I read the reviews and gave it time before I placed the order. I am blown away that this guy stays in business. read more

HOLY COW! I WILL NEVER USE KING KEG AGAIN. We hired them for our Stanley Cup party. We ordered a keg and 100lbs of ice for all of our other warm beer that we needed to chill. They showed up almost two hours late on a MONDAY afternoon (not a Monday holiday)!! We kept calling the store and the woman answering gave us various lame excuses for why they were late. She never called us back to give us an update on the ETA. I finally had to call the driver on his cell to get the ETA. We weren't even sure they were going to show up. They also did a bunch of up-charging when we placed our order. We were looking forward to drinking the remainder of the keg the next afternoon after work, but wouldn't you know they were Johnny On The Spot to pick up the nearly full keg. Yikes! If you want a keg of something other than standard domestic(they have those too) & that you know is going to be hard to find..than this is the place. Today we had our kegerator serviced by the owner, basically for free because he gave us a number of parts, and he threw in a lesson on how to pour beer too. I recently added a resort living area to my house in Manhattan Beach that includes a kegorator with 2 beer tappers. Prior to buying the kegorator, I knew ALOT about drinking beer but nothing at all about dispensing it or ordering kegs. King Keg (Skip and Tariq) have taken care of all of my needs including fixing a tricky countertop screwup from my contractor, modifying my equipment, maintaining my equipment, and keeping me in fresh beer. Beer kegs are to expensive here, is more cheaper to go to bevmo, this place charge 100 dollars for keg deposit. I bought a 7.5 pacífico beer that cost me 150 dollars plus the 100 of deposit, while in bevmo is at 89 dollars for the beer 7.5 pacífico and 40 on keg deposit. Is really ridiculous, do not buy kegs from this guy he is totally a ripoff read more

Worst customer service ever. Do not try and rent an equipment from them as they will misquote you prices, charge more than you agreed upon, and will not give you any details on when items are being delivered or picked up. We rented a jockey box for an event. I was told it was $100 for the jockey box and nothing else. We had it delivered and were not told about any additional fees and they showed up with a $212 bill. I can buy a jockey box on morebeer.com for $290 and then we own it forever. Then they wouldn't tell me when it was to be delivered or give me any info on picking it up. Just awful service! read more

I got married 2 months ago in May in Ojai, near Santa Barbara. My husband and I wanted very specific beers from a KEG. I called Tariq at King Keg knowing that he was the only one I could trust being it such an important day. We ordered 1 Keg of Chamay and 2 Kegs of Bitburger. Eric, one of the guys there, delivered the 3 kegs the morning of the wedding all the way in Ojai. They hooked up the jockey boxes, the handles, and supplied the ice AND THERE WEREN'T ANY PROBLEMS! The Beer was the biggest hit of the wedding and the kegs were done 1/2 way through the night. Getting married is one of the most stressful things ever and it was so GREAT not to have to worry about the beer, which is actually kind of a big deal at a wedding. The next morning we had our best man deliver all the equiptment back at King Keg with no problems. I don't know any other place in the South Bay that will give you such honest and great customer service! read more

Hear ye, hear ye... Right off the bat, King Keg caused problems with me. The reason...so many awesome beers avail in thy Keg format. After coming to my senses and not ordering one of each - I chose Stella. My initial call to set up an account, set delivery, etc...went smooth with Tariq. Skip cruised over a couple of days later and spent a good deal of time restoring and cleaning the kegerator, as if it was his. We just got a new kegerator in our backyard and were having some problems with it. I was about to go down to a local store to purchase a cleaning kit when I decided to make one more phone call. I called King Keg and I have never been to the store in my entire life nor ever met anyone that works there. To my astonishment, Tariq, the owner started asking me some questions and then spent at least half an hour on the phone walking me through how to fix my beer problem. This place has such a huge selection microbrews. I've been here several times, and everyone has been courteous & helpful. The younger guys even "talk beer" with me & ask if I've tried some of their newer beers they've gotten in. They've even gone to the back & grabbed me somethings that wasn't on the shelf. I was even able to pick up a Firestone Parabola that I couldn't even get at the brewery in Venice.
