Shady shady shady- I used KingKeg for my recent wedding and was left with more than a sour taste in my mouth. The owner "Tariq" seemed like a nice guy when I initially expressed interest in one of his jockey box systems for two pony kegs. He was knowledgable and even helpful in choosing beer types for my wedding. After I gave him my credit card it all went south. I had to continually ask for an invoice with the pricing and timing for delivery and pickup of the kegs and equipment.The invoice looked like my 5 year old cousin wrote it, everything was misspelled and it looked horrible. He then started changing beers and pricing on me, saying he couldn't get the beer I was promised. He then stated he could get the original beer but the price would be more (FML). Feeling time strapped and not wanting to cause trouble I obliged. I was finally told delivery would be at 3:00pm but pickup could not be same day. I again reluctantly obliged. Mr. Tariq even urged me to "keep the beer until Monday and not let it go to waste". Beer delivery was two hours late, of course. I was also sure to have one of my friends bring a car to take the leftover beer home since "Tariq" and KingKeg wouldn't pick up the beer same day (late night in the case of my wedding). Again, I was shocked to learn that Kingkeg showed up before the wedding even ended and took all the beer and equipment. One of my friends even tried telling the Kingkeg rep we were keeping the beer until Monday, per Tariq. In the end the shady regime of Kingkeg won and probably resold the leftover beer. I cannot speak to the KingKeg retail store, but for keg and delivery services, avoid them like the plague! I'm also happy to provide all emails and the invoice for anyone who cares.... read more

DO NOT ORDER A KEG FROM HERE. My company ordered a keg from here with a specific delivery time. When it did not arrive on time we called. They said it was on its way. When it did not arrive after a half hour so we called again, and after chewing us out on the phone for calling again, they threatened to cancel the keg, basically turning a problem that was their fault into our problem. Bought a keg here and had the owner come to service our kegerator as a surprise for my husband. He was extremely arrogant and condescending, claiming that our kegerator was cheap ("belonged in a fraternity house") and that there was little he could do without new parts. I paid him over $200 and the keg was still pouring foam. I ordered new parts and he told me he would come back and install the new parts for free when they arrived. When I got the new parts, I called him over and over again. Once I waited for 30 minutes on hold before finally hanging up! He never returned a single message that I or my husband left. Finally we called MR. KEGS in Huntington Beach and they came out and got our kegerator working perfectly (without new parts) for under $80. They told us that many of the previously serviced parts were installed incorrectly and this was why we were getting foam and liquid at the bottom of the kegerator. Also had our CO2 tank hooked up wrong so that it was going through CO2 about 3 times as fast as it should have. This place has HORRIBLE customer service, and is far overpriced for their services. King Keg saved the day! We had a little snafu before our Mardi Gras party last Saturday and our keg of Abita Purple Haze (that we ordered from another retailer 5 days in advance) never arrived! This place was the only store in the LA area that could get me a Blackthorn cider keg in under 10 days. When I called, I spoke with the owner and he said he could get me a keg in under 3 days. He made a quick call to his distributor and then called me back within 10 minutes with the good news. The prices were reasonable and when I picked up the keg they showed me how to put it together with the CO2 pump and the jocky box. They even gave me an extra 12 hours to return it (normal keg rental is 3 days I guess?) The only reason I can't give 5 stars is because the store opened a little late. I showed up right at store opening hours and waited around for a good 15-20 minutes and no one showed up. I'm not sure when the store opened, I went to grab party supplies and returned an hour later. But once they were open, it was smooth sailing. read more

We have recently purchased a keg-orator and not only did they bring out our first keg as well as all the others we've purchased but they helped set up our keg-orator and get us going. King Keg is truly the King - I'm all about truth in advertising. I made a promise to my friends for Super Bowl Sunday, "I'll get the Lagunitas IPA Keg". It almost didn't happen. I tried calling everyone, no one had this brand anywhere... that is noone except for King Keg. Eric drove out to San Juan Capistrano to pick up what seemed to be the last keg in So Cal. I gave King Keg a 5 out of 5 rating because the owner Tariq was nothing but helpful. I went to King Keg to inquire about purchasing drinks for my wedding and based on his experience he was able to easily estimate the amount of alcohol I needed for the number of guests attending. He also had an excellent selection of beer to order by the keg. I got a 5 gallon keg of Stella for the lager drinkers and a 5 gallon of Sculpin for IPA drinkers. King keg also had a sizable selection of liquor. wine, and champagne that was able to fit our budget. Tariq was able to help us come up with a signature drink for our cocktail hour, and even let us taste test it right there in the store. I remember the morning of the wedding being stressed about the delivery, but when I showed up to the venue I found that it went very smoothly. The reception hall coordinator was able to let the delivery guy into the venue, so when I got there he had already brought everything to the bar, set up the jack boxes for the kegs to flow ice cold without any foam, and iced all the mixers, champagne bottles and white wines. The day after our wedding we had to go on our honeymoon, but we didn't have to worry about returning any of the keg equipment they just picked it up from the venue the next day.
