A friend gave me a large Casablanca ceiling fan in perfect working order, though I soon discovered it lacked a base unit to attach it to the ceiling. I needed to have the fan installed asap. The job required new wiring from the circuit breaker. So I called three other electricians rated highly on Yelp. One never called me back. One called back two days later. And one gave me a quote of $350-$400 dollars. Phil answered his phone (917-519-2306) right away. He said he'd be over in two hours, and was true to his word. He and Carlvern inspected the job, hustled over to Home Depot for the requisite parts, then came back and finished the job within a couple hours. I paid less than half what the other electrician quoted, including parts. The fan had a two-foot long extension pole. When he installed it, Phil said the thought the fan would work better and be safer with a shorter pole. So he returned with the shorter pole, and installed it the next day, free of charge. Over and above what I've ever experienced with an electrician. I'm giving him five stars only because there isn't a ten rating. He's honest, hard working, quick, and a damn fine electrician.

He got a number of electrical jobs done very well in our apartment -- several pendant light installations (which required breaking through the ceilings/walls); rewiring/installation of an outdoor light; installation of an outdoor outlet; re-routing of switchers and dimmer installation. To make all of this happen, Phil came to our place multiple times. Sometimes, he brought along his son Phil-Andrew, who was also very courteous and helpful. He called me beforehand to let me know he was on his way and then called again when he arrived. He was very professional and thorough. Found the problem and he checked the other outlets in the room. Our water heater wasn't getting enough power, and we noticed an active crackling sound coming from the external disconnect box. Never Again!!! So about 18 months ago I needed an electrician and since Tony is in town I decided…read moreto give him a try. Called several times and left messages, but never got a call back. Since it was a small job I ended up having a friend help me out. A few months later I needed something else done so I tried Tony one more time. This time he answered, I explained what I needed and came to the house the next day. All I needed done was having an outdoor outlet replaced. He was at my house for about an hour before he left because he didn't have the right parts. He came back the following day to finish the job while I was at work. When I got home I looked at what he had done and not only was there scraps, parts, and debris all over my yard where he had been working, but the outlet was duct taped together. I called him to find out what the hell happened and his response was "well the part didn't fit so that's what I had to do" He sent me a bill for the "work" he had done and wanted it paid promptly. He refused to fix the outlet correctly and claimed that was all that could be done. When I checked to outlet to see if it even worked, I was not surprised to find out that it indeed did not. I called another electrician who not only fixed the problem quickly, but also gave me a good price because he felt bad that I had to deal with a bad electrician that gives the wrong reputation to the field.
