On 4/5/2026 Easter Sunday Afternoon approximately around 2:22pm a WHITE man working near the self-checkout lanes racially profiled me. HE WAS WEARING A LIGHT BLUE BUTTON UP SHIRT OR MAYBE IT WAS JUST A SHIRT, NOT NECCESARILY BUTTON UP. NO VEST OF ANY SORT (I'm talking about the neon vests that most King Sooper's staff wear- like the people who gather the carts or do other duties, so IM ASSUMING this man is a manager or assistant manager) (Either way, he didn't respect me.) He is brunette and is really short, he must've been like 5'5 or 5'4. This man saw me struggling halfway out the first set of doors as my shopping cart that I was pushing braked on me and stopped me from leaving the store. I tried pushing the shopping cart and I checked to see if I ran over something. I did not. There was nothing stopping me from pushing the shopping cart other than the fact that for some reason, it locked on me. I know that King's does lock shopping carts SOMETIMES, so that people don't steal them, but I wasn't aware that this location does that. And that is why I asked this man why the shopping cart wouldn't move because I genuinely was confused! He ignored my question and didn't maintain eye contact with me, and he was looking at my shopping cart and used his crusty finger to circle around the shopping cart and asked me, "Are you good?" or "Are we good here?", I then called my husband who is white; to come back inside the store to show this man our receipt, to prove to him that I didn't steal anything. After that, the male employee said, "Alright then go." and then unlocked my shopping cart. Mind you, I am not white. I am Native American; 100% Navajo and I do not have WHITE skin! So yeah, I felt I was targeted and treated unfairly because the staff didn't even talk to my WHITE husband! I am still unsure as to why the shopping cart locked on me specifically. My husband and I DID NOT use self-checkout anyway! We had Stacia C as our cashier, and they can vouch for my hubby and I if this review gets out there. I'd suggest King Soopers do better about monitoring their customers and being straight up with them by asking them, "Did you steal?" "Did you take anything?" "Is there a chance you accidently took something and it wasn't scanned?" Don't accuse your customers of stealing by just asking "are we good?" when they're already halfway out of the doorway and disrupting other customers shopping experiences. VERY UNPROFESSIONAL HOW THIS WHITE MALE EMPLOYEEE HANDLED THIS SITUATION! I WILL NOT BE RETURNING TO THIS STORE AND I WILL BE SHOPPING AT ANOTHER KING SOOPERS LOCATION! read more

let's get the intentions of this review crystal clear: help others understand what is going on in this small business coffee shop called storbucks or something. i walk in there and see 3 tables, i know that's all. i choose the only open one. one of the employees at starbucks is on a break (we love companies that give breaks), but she wasn't using it wisely. she is still wearing her gloves, and chowing down on a hunk of meat otherwise known as ribs. can we make it clear she was ripping them apart and getting sauce up her arms. after she ate half she got back to work, but i never saw her take off her gloves. i am not going to make assumptions, but same gloves is a realistic and concerning possibility. again not to bring down our local king soopers as their prices are lower than low and food is fresh for everyone. this is about the small institution inside there. get coffee at your own risk. read more

We had a really bad experience today at this King Soopers. I have lived in this area for 25 years and shopped at this store hundreds of times. Today, my son and I went to get BBQ supplies to grill burgers. We got $70 worth of food stuff and a single bottle of wine for me. My son is 20 and I am 56. When we went to check out, our checker, Jane, carded me, which I made a joke about considering I have grey hair, and then she asked for my son's ID. I was shocked that she was doing this and told her the wine was for me, as we had lived in the neighborhood and shopped there for 25 years. She was obstinate and would not relent so I asked for a manager. I said this was not the law and she was mistaken but she insisted this was store policy. I explained that I had purchased wine many times and had never experienced this and it was against Colorado law. She stated that she was told this was King Sooper policy and that it was to prevent the corruption of minors. I told her she was full of horse hocky and that was completely ridiculous. She then called a manager, who made my son leave the store so I could purchase a single bottle of wine, along with 20 BBQ food items. This is ridiculous and completely unnecessary. I called the store manager and she stated that their employees were instructed to use discretion in cases where they felt there were "suspicious circumstances". Apparently, a middle-aged man buying BBQ items and a single bottle of wine was "suspicious" to Jane. This was entirely out of line, and the store manager, Lori, was not very helpful at all. Shame on King Sooper for overreach and applying obligatory rules that are not in line with obvious facts or the law. read more

This store is less than a mile from my house, so it's been the main shopping stop for us. It's clean, well stocked and organized, and most of the employees are helpful and pleasant. Their produce there has declined in the last year or so. Used to be great and now I regularly find bad produce. Still OK here and there, but I've switched to WF for most produce - it's actually cheaper at whole foods, by and large and I have to go there anyway. I rarely ever purchase meat here just looks pretty sketchy as do all King Soopers/big chain stores. I'll echo the previous sentiments regarding the deli department. Simply terrible service from everyone minus one woman who I think may be the manager. They either ignore you completely, or sigh/roll their eyes when you order, and regularly cut slices larger than you ask, I presume to speed up their task. Serviceable. Used to be better. read more

This store has always been wonderful, until Covid. Now it's horribly understaffed and always out of product. Today my favorite cashierMaria was the only lane open, she had a line of 8 people. I felt bad for her, she called for back up but no one came to help. I used to see a manager helping out every time I shopped, now I have no idea who the manager is. I try to go on off times but that isn't helping out so I guess online ordering is the way to go. I hope they can start getting some help in the store, poor Maria can't do it all. Since the pandemic this pharmacy location has gone steadily downhill. The pharmacy staff is rude, unhelpful, and impatient. They do excel at one thing however: they have the uncanny ability to make a patient feel as though they're nothing more than a small insignificant number among the masses. I would only recommend this pharmacy if you don't mind attempting to call their extension several times in a row and waiting roughly 10 minutes each time without speaking to a single person--unless a perturbed team member opening the line on a third call-in attempt to mumble something about a 30 minute wait then speedily shutting off the connection once more counts as any sort of care or attention. If you actually value your mental and physical health, along with time and money well spent, then by all means look elsewhere and save yourself the hassle you'll find here. read more

I like to go to the Hot Food counter to get lunch. The staff person there (especially on Monday) is always so nice, I will have to remember her name. This KS, on University & Dry Creek, is constantly disappointing me. The pharmacy seems to, more often that not, have to order out basic medications. Also, the pharmacy staff is EXTREMELY RUDE and not helpful. They are rude and impolite both in person and on the phone. So much so, I have moved my Rx's to another pharmacy. Lastly, they are consistently out of stock on popular items. I go there because it's convenient but lately, I drive the extra distance to go to the KS on Broadway & Mineral. I recently started using this pharmacy for my prescriptions. My first experience was great, fast and friendly, was happy I switched from Walgreens. Walgreens is always slow and has issues. Anyways, the last 2 times a man named Steven has helped me. He is so rude and short. I work in customer service, if I treated anyone this way, I would be fired. I asked him to look for a discount that was offered the previous visit (which it turns out there wasn't any) but instead of looking or explaining why, he just cut me off and barked the price at me. Was rude and short and acting as if me being there was a huge inconvenience. He did this when I dropped it off too. Will be using a different pharmacy in the future just so I don't have to encounter this man again. Excellent pharmacy - you have to wait sometimes, but they honor "price match" at any other local pharmacy which can really help you save $$$. I appreciate this, as many health insurance policies don't have pharmacy coverage. The staff here is also very friendly and helpful. The range of grocery products is good. Produce is fresh. Downside - deli, dairy and produce prices are fairly expensive but overall this is a great market. read more

This is for the bakery. Excellent! I ordered a small birthday cake on Saturday morning for pick up that afternoon. I wish I knew the names of those who helped me on the phone, for decorating the cake and the nice lady who gave it me when I picked it up. All I said is my daughter really likes the buttercream frosting. I wish I took a picture of it it! It had white frosting with 5 pink roses on top and edged in pink. They have taken the time to ask about my children, my family, and have even pointed out special deals that are running in the store. I've lived here a year and one of the decisions to buy was the proximity to a King Soopers. While I've had many issues with Kroger in the past, I blamed the issues on the corporate staff, always protecting their overpaid jobs by constantly moving products, dropping products and basically making it a store you couldn't find what you knew they carried. Now I've found a store that has made me mad from the first time I walked into it but today was the cake. wanted to buy some car protectant and picked up a 16 oz (smaller than wanted) for $3.79 on sale. The register rang it up at almost $11. Went home, got on line and found it at Target (1 mile farther down University for $7.49 for a 32 oz bottle. Strange, when the scanner didn't give you the right price, you used to get it for free and now you can no longer see the items as they ring up and have to wait until you get your receipt.
