After seeing a lot of bad reviews I feel people complain about everything. I personally used this King Soopers for the last 2-3 years and never had a problem with the store, pharmacy, parking lot, or gas station. Everyone was always very nice and helpful! They should be embarrassed. I was reminded of the old Soviet days. No workers. Those that were actually "working" appeared overworked. Zero customer service!! A store filled with customers. This is specifically about the pharmacy in the new King Soopers on Northgate. I have found that the notification system is good, but the pharmacy itself is only open very short hours. Not open late in the day at all, and there is a long lunch hour taken by all employees at the same time, so the likelihood of going in there in the middle of the day and finding it closed is pretty good, too. I have also noticed that they seem to charge more for copays than my doctor's office said they should. No bargain here. read more

I stopped by the deli August 15th at about 7:30 PM. The employees working back there were already doing their cleaning, which wasn't too surprising because the deli closed at 8 PM. It took longer than it should have for someone to finally wait on me, even though I was waving my arms and asking if they were open. Finally someone came over. He was wearing long, black industrial rubber gloves, and a mask because again, he was doing his cleaning for the day. He started preparing what I needed and I was waiting for him to change into disposable sanitary gloves. Halfway through my order, I asked him, "excuse me, are you going to change your gloves"? He said he did while he was walking over. Really, industrial long black rubber gloves? Upon handing me my order (which I could tell was thick cut ham vs very thin which I ordered), I told him I didn't believe him about the glove change. He said, "ok." I took 4 steps away, then placed the packet of ham back onto the counter. I understand that cutting an order thicker than requested completes the order quicker, but change your DARN gloves Dude! You're handling someone's food. read more

Had trouble with their automated checkout wanting to take my purchases down a long belt over rollers bruising the food to a place 10 feet away from where I am standing. So, after scanning an item put it in my sack but the system voided any item not sent down their conveyor belt. so, when I told the clerk helping me that this would be the first and last time I used their automated checkout the clerk responded that would be great to not have to service me. Basically telling me off for their broken system. King Stupid has lost my business. Their automated checkout treats you like a thief. read more

RAYMOND is the ONLY thing that "went well" during this experience! KS patrons 40+ years & what was a huge "mess" caused by poor communication thru their online "chat" (3rd party) support AND the live agent (3rd party) was corrected by Raymond immediately. Raymond is the Manager over the online order/pickup Department, and who I spoke to AFTER the live agent told me completely incorrect information! I was disbelief over the answer, so I contacted the store directly (because this KS pickup service is USUALLY spot on!) This could not be right, it doesn't even make sense (which is EXACTLY what i told the live agent, who simply said "sorry that's what mgmt at the store said")...so we're gonna be without food, in a blizzard over paper bags?! Wth?! That's when I got ahold of Raymond, thank the good Lord already. I was not happy & Raymond explained that he was in agreement with me that the live agents answer was incorrect, illogical & NOT what his rep said at all bc he heard the call just minutes before. Raymond was polite, patient & understanding of my frustration...the key was he LISTENED & offered a GREAT solution, which is definitely "going above & beyond" & it's not costing his company a dime, but it is making a very upset customer, 100% satisfied! Now I remember WHY I've been a loyal customer for 40+ years!! Everybody needs a "Raymond" on their team! Nice "save" KS! Give this man a promotion! Seriously tho...he deserves props!! read more

I usually am not the type to complain at all but I worked in a bakery and with 0 knowledge was decorating cupcakes from day 1 and just don't understand what happened.. my mom placed an order 4 days prior to our event- 1 dozen chocolate 1 dozen vanilla, purple and white frosting. I suppose we are at fault for not saying we wanted the frosting to look good but... these are honestly just the ugliest cupcakes I think I have ever seen and they were clearly very very rushed.. I had to go to Safeway to get new cupcakes because I just couldn't put these out and they got me perfect looking cupcakes in under 15 minutes the day of for less than the king Soopers cupcakes. I'm not sure who checks quality but I highly recommend someone start if there isn't someone doing it now. If someone orders a special order it's clearly for an event/ get together and I think most people would prefer a nice looking cupcake read more

King Soopers is now charging a $.50 fee for cash back when getting groceries. I purchase thousands of dollars of groceries a year, and like the convenience of getting $100 cash back when using my debit card and King Soopers card. I contacted Kroger customer service, and they say it because "banks are raising their ATM fees and other retailers are limiting the amount of cash back." Well, my bank ATM has no fee, and the major competitor to King Soopers here in Colorado Springs, Safeway, does not charge a fee. Time to start shopping at Safeway! read more

I was taking an elderly woman from our church grocery shopping. She is blind and had recently fallen breaking her arm. She is currently using a hemiwalker (one armed walker ) to get around. We were able to manage ato get her in a push cart but getting her in and out of car plus managing groceries was overwhelming. Your store assistant Carly stepped up and offered to help. She was wonderful!!! She stayed with my friend while I got her groceries to the cart, then helped me get her in the car. And she even helped my friend get a yummy Starbucks treat! What a wonderful employee and person. This is why I love King Soopers. Really a neighborhood of caring people. Thanks Carly! read more

I have shopped at this store for over 15 years. I have built a relationship with a number of the store employees and cannot say enough about their customer service. That being said, it appears management has dropped the ball in a number of areas. Shelves are lacking merchandise, and I am tired of hearing that it is all due to Corona virus impacting delivering stuff. Safeway just down the street has those items on their shelves. All this saddens me beyond belief. At a gut level I have allegiance to the store and its employees, but I have found that almost every time I go shopping at this King Soopers, I end up also having to go to Safeway just a quarter of a mile away to get the things King Soopers didn't have. And these items are not unusual things, but, for example, Gatorade, numerous deli meats, etc. I understand they (like most other retail stores) are low on staff but as I said above, Safeway, Whole Foods, Sprouts, etc are not experiencing this. Staff is super! Management appears to be lacking. Case in point: they have taken away the option of our filling out the Customer Satisfaction Survey. I used that option to give kudos to the numerous employees that deserved them and to give suggestions as well. read more

Pharmacy notification system is NOT reliable!!! Their pharmacy notification method does not notify you immediately - we needed scripts for covid pneumonia - it was life or death- recover in the hospital or at home situation. The scripts were sent over at 4pm on a Sunday. They filled them but did not notify us (and we are signed up with the portal and have gotten messages in the past) and they close at 5pm on Sundays. I had taken my husband home as he was very sick and checked the status and that's when I found out they were closed....We were in a very anxious situation to get the dr to sent the scripts to another pharmacy and then the insurance wouldn't cOver them because King Sooper had already run them through our insurance !! I called to get charges reversed and they would do that but in talking to the pharmacist- I wanted to make him aware of a problem that might could be fixed- instead he told me all the things to do that I had already done- join the portal... and said he had nothing to do with it... alrighty then there you are- Lesson : CALL the pharmacy right after you leave the doctor and be aware of early hours!! Filthy Filthy Filthy!! Some of the vegetables are rotting and moldy - both black and a white mold - not healthy. In the meat department the case with packaged sausage smelled like rotting meat - stomach turning. And the sales prices would ring up for the 1st item but not for any other quantity of the item. Some sales were not even ringing up - had to kept pressing the PAY button to figure if a sales prices was being honored. There were so many that I had to keep the items separate in my cart so the person helping in the self-checkout could easily see what items needed discounting. Haven't been at any KS in weeks and it has only gotten worse. Krogers should be ashamed of themselves - I'm thinking the Health Dept needs to be called due to mold growing in the produce section. read more

It is an absolute consensus that this is the best conventional grocery store in the Springs. I live right around the corner, so if I don't want to go across town for some quick, quality items, I'll hit this store or Mountain Mama on Uintah. When I first moved to town, my roommate drove me from downtown to this King Soopers for groceries. I, of course was not going to take one person's word for it, I comparison shopped: I've been to the one on Uintah (nice, but not this nice), the one near Fort Carson (good, but not great), on N. Academy @ Woodmen (also solid) with a little a few visits to Albertson's amogst others. King's Sooper's does offer many organic products (in produce, packaged, and bulk foods). It has a good selection of good priced natural meats, cheeses and a bakery, but in comparing it to Whole Foods, there still a shortage of variety. King Soopers has two natural food aisles, but Whole Foods is another animal. As a money saving method, I'll stop by this store on my way to Whole Foods. I'll still go to Whole Foods for fancy olives, cold cuts and cheeses in addition to health and beauty products and sopresetta sausage. By the way, this King Sooper does come up with some good sales -- today I picked up a pound of organic strawberries for $1.99 read more

I am convinced this is the best grocery store in town. It's new, it's clean, and it has an amazing selection. I can't tell you how many times I've gone in with a shopping list, thinking I'll have to go to Whole Foods to find a few of my items. It's never happened. The clientele tend to be upscale (it backs up to Kissing Camels) but the prices are not. Their produce is the freshest I've found and they carry a lot of organics. Other highlights include the cheese section and the olive bar. Also check out the seasonal aisle--you can find some great deals on random things like inflatable pools and patio furniture. read more

We usually shop at the Safeway at the Bon Shopping Center because it is a lot smaller and easier to navigate, but occasionally get to King Soopers because, obviously, the smaller Safeway doesn't always have everything we want. This store has the typical problem of most over-sized grocery stores in that it carries a lot more than groceries, produce, meet and a few odds and ends. It sells patio furniture, for crying out loud. It does carry dry ice, which is nice and the staff is helpful. But at the end of the day, it is Too. Damn. Big. read more

Exactly what you expect... grocery store with various products... the only thing that is a downfall, some products disappear... so if you find something you like, make sure you let them know! If they don't have something, you can request it... Different King Soopers have different products depending on the demographics of the area it is located in. read more

King Soopers, Centenial Blvd., Colorado Springs strikes again. Purchased a bag of slider buns from the mark down rack. Regular price $2.49, then a sale price of $1.89 and then a final price sticker of $.99. Yep, the checker paid no attention to the price reduction scan tags and charged the full price of $2.59. Had to go to customer service to get the correct price. Happens almost every time we shop there. It used to happen very rarely. Employees getting sloppy in their job. read more

King soopers is awesome. Most, if not all, of their locations are great. This location was very clean and organized well. My wife and I had a very pleasant shopping experience. We found most of the things we had on our grocery shopping list. The staff were very helpful and very generous. The bathrooms were also clean, which is always much obliged. What the previous reviewers have said is all true. This is the best grocery store in Springs. This place is so great, it has over-ridden my sense of going super cheap at the big W. It may be a bit more expensive that the W, but for the wonderful experiences I have here....worth every penny. I have /loved/ the coupon deals they send me that are tailored to my shopping experience. Coupons I actually use! I NEVER have had to wait longer than maybe 2 minutes to get checked out. A manager is always coordinating to make sure you get in and out as quickly as possible. Most of the checkers are wonderfully friendly. I enjoy our little exchanges. I've shopped here for most of my life, as I grew up down the street! They've always had a great staff and a clean and organized store. I'm writing this review, because last weekend I bought my friend a birthday cake from the bakery, and Ashley outdid herself! I described my friend - who's a bit of a hippie with flowing, golden hair and a vibrant personality - to her, and she knocked the cake out of the park.
