they say they do returns for online items, so i drive all the way across town with these gas prices and they said i can only get the amount of the item back (not tax or shipping) even though they offer a free return shipping label when you receive the item. they also don't issue a store credit gift card or let you exchange without returning it onto your card first, which won't show up in your bank right away, so i spent an hour shopping for no reason. After my first time in, I know it will not be my last! I came here looking for trail running shoes and hiking shoes with ankle support. I found exactly what I needed as well as a few other things. I got a pair of altras for $60! With my shoes and designer clothes I bought, I spent about as much as I would have on a brand new pair of running shoes! Sierra has a plethora of men's and women's outdoor/athletic clothing, shoes and accessories and you can get so much bang for your buck here. I just wish there were more locations! read more

Worst customer service at this location. We love Sierra and shop there often - but the Colorado Springs store has the worst customer service and we wont be back. The staff is rude, learned apparently from the manager. Had been treated poorly there in the past. Then today, aside from being ignored in line by 3 staff members, including the manager, who were doing nothing, standing around with only one nice gal trying to help everyone and apologizing to all. Then we had recently purchased a an Avalanche dog cot/bed that quickly ripped apart. We did not have our receipt but read online we could exchange or get store credit. They still had the product in stock, so tags and info were available. They would not honor the exchange. We were told she couldn't do anything for us. Seriously? Why not?? We will make the drive and shop up in Castle Rock from now on. We have always been treated well up there. I suggest you do the same. read more

I want to give a heartfelt thank‑you to the Sierra on Barnes Rd for consistently outstanding customer service. I've shopped at this location many times over the years, and even with normal staff turnover and the occasional long line, they have always treated me better than almost any other store I go to.They've repeatedly gone out of their way to accommodate me, including letting me park my electric cargo bike inside the store when other places flat‑out refused. That alone has made a huge difference for me as a regular customer.Most recently, during a snowstorm late in the evening, my bike's front tire went completely flat and I was stuck with a real "emergency in my mind" moment. The manager and staff made a one‑time exception to their policy and allowed me to leave my bike safely inside overnight so I didn't have to struggle back up the hill in the dark, cold, and ice. That decision relieved an enormous amount of stress and worry.To me, this store truly embodies empathy and common sense. They don't just quote rules at you; they listen, understand what you're dealing with, and do what they reasonably can to help. We used to live in Reno, NV and were spoiled by the Sierra there, then moved to AZ where there are none. Lemme tell you, when we were visiting Colorado and casually drove by, we made the U-turn so fact we got whiplash. The best deals and lots of stock of outdoor gear for everyone. People were polite and we got lots of goodies including astronaut ice cream for our 9yo. Lol. Would've made a great stocking stuffer, but we were a few days too late. read more

I'd give Sierra five stars, but the inventory is so varied there's no guarantee you'll find what you're looking for. We've often found a great bargain, but sometimes it's so picked over or end of season that we've left empty handed. Love the friendly staff and variety. When it's good it's very good. We've found great deals on shoes, sweaters, dog treats and toys, luggage, and stocking stuffers. You just never know what you'll find. Always an adventure. read more

Ordered some shoes online that they didn't have in the store. Ordered on Saturday, came in on a Wednesday. I walked in the store, walked to the back, I asked the friendly gal for assistance, she went in the back, got them, and was on my way in just a couple minutes. While I would've bought them in the store if they had had them there, I know that in retail in this day and age that's not always possible. Waiting in line at this store is like the 7th level of hell for parents. They never have enough workers. And for whatever reason, transactions take an eternity. Meanwhile, they fill the line with breakable things and candy so parents can spend the interminable wait trying to not to rack up bills from broken candles and repeating "no we are not here for candy" a thousand times. So happy to have discovered this store. Where I come from REI is mainly the store for climbing and camping. This company is a lot more affordable than REI, sells just about the same things albeit different brands. If you are a beginner in hiking camping outdoor activities etc, this store is the best place to not pay so much and regret it later on when you realize you don't use it much, to buy equipments for a hike etc. Their clearance section is big, clothing shoes you name it. I found several name brand leather products from here for wayyyyy less. I know I couldn't have gotten these at REI, this is coming from someone who is a member of REI! Lost our business today. We are a family who loves to support this place but today we were shopping in the toy section. There were a few kids there. My children were next to me and playing with the play toys in the aisle. Some other kids were doing the same. An older male employee approached me (assuming all of the children were mine) and requested that I place the toys I wanted to buy at the register. I wasn't certain on what we were getting so I graciously declined. He then followed us in each aisle. Again approached us and said "please make sure you don't move the stuffed animals. There are elderly people who shop here and can trip." Seriously?? After stalking us I told management about it and asked if we could shop in peace. He did nothing but smile and say sorry he did that. So if you enjoy being followed throughout the store while shopping in the toy aisle...being told not to play with toys...while also spending the last day before your husbands deployment with him, making the experience horrible...then please go shop there. read more

This is a huge Sierra Trading Post off of the powers corridor. It has a huge selection of outdoor gear and clothing. The store is pretty standard but is in a good location. There are other large stores around so it gets very busy on the weekend. Which makes it harder to get a good parking spot. They also have a military discount which helps when you spend hundreds of dollars there. Clearance section is ok you can find better deals with their clearance shoes. You have to search for good deals through the racks. Good store read more

I love this place and unlike the previous reviewer I appreciate that the employees make sure people supervise their kids. Some people treat toy isle like play centers ... it is irresponsible to let their kids throw toys onto the floor that they have no intentions of buying! What kind of attitude is that? I am a mom of 2 and it upsets me how people cannot teach their kids to treat other people's property with respect. I am glad the Sierra employees make sure merchandise is promptly removed from the floor and kids toys are in new condition when someone wants to actually buy them. I have never once met an unfriendly employee at this location and had my small kids with me often. read more

I've been shopping from Sierra trading for probably 20 year. Back when the flimsy paper catalog came in mail. Even would drive to Wyoming to get some great deals. Fast forward to 2018. Store opens in Colorado Springs. At first a pretty good selection of quality items. Now..... merged with TJ Max???? Racks are literally crammed with cheap crap. All these years couldn't tell enough people how great Sierra was. REI here I come. read more

So, about a year ago I purchased these shoes and only wore them once for a 3 mile run. After running I felt they were not comfortable at all for my feet. I decided to return them, but somehow after using these shoes for first time I put them in my suitcase and taught within a week or so I will return them. On that time I had to travel for work, so i totally forgot to return them. Two weeks ago I opened the suitcase and saw the shoes. I decided to contact customer service and see if they still take the return. I did not had any hopes because it's been a year, but i thought why don't i try it. Sierra Trading Post Customerservice told me to return the shoes and they will give me a credit. So i did return them, after week or so I contacted them again regarding the credit. This time Sierra Trading Post Customerservice is telling me that shoes are very worn and that they had stocking lint in them and we will not give you the credit. Frankly speaking from the beginning I did not thought that it is possible to return them but the reason they are giving me is a bullshit, I mean I only wore them once for a short 3 mile run and how come they become very worn. My suggestion to you is you could have told me from the beginning that it's been a close to a year we don't take returns, I had to go through all this shipping and packing hustle and realizing that by giving lame reasons you will be not giving me the credit. read more

This place had a huge selection of women's winter/outdoor cold weather clothing and in fashionable styles-and well known brands. They also had a huge selection of wool socks for women at great prices which is hard to find. Children's snow boots and shoes and cold weather clothing abundant as well. Even pajamas! Love having this store just down the road! Like an REI (comparable products/selection--perhaps a bit more geared towards clothing than equipment) but with much better prices. I love the option of buying online and shipping free to their store, or being able to shop their in-store inventory online and pick it up in store later. Their emailed coupons for being on their email list are also great! I've bought socks, jackets, ski pants, gloves and more here and have yet to be disappointed. I bought 2 pair of ski pants and had them shipped to the store, not knowing which I would prefer, and then chose one and handed the other pair back to the clerk for easy in-store return. read more

For about 20 years the STP online/catalg store, and more recently their stores in Cheyenne and Cody, WY were my "go to" store for outdoor related gear and clothing. This Colorado Springs store opened with a bang, high end products at great prices and a great staff (the staff is still great). That said, the quality of the product line has gone down hill. TJMAX bought STP and I think now I am observing the change of product line. I just visited the Cody and Boise stores during a camping trip this week and it is not just the Springs store that has shifted to lower end merchandise. I used to see a nice selection of Barbour, Lowa, Hangweg, Zeiss, Mammut, Asolo, Teva and Chaco.. now not so much. I filled out their online surveys and never heard back. read more
