I live "next door" and I'm in here at least 2 to 3 times every week.I sometimes also shop at a couple of other ones nearby. This is by far the most poorly managed one. I question what the management is doing because they're not visible and are missing the obvious issues. Produce is constantly not on the shelves but is in the back if you find someone to go get it for you. There's no attention to the checkout line. It's a pretty big store and I can't be convinced that at any given time there is only one person capable of operating a register. At virtually every other store, if the line is longer than two or three people they call someone to come to the front to open another one. This hardly ever happens here which seems disrespectful of the customers. They only occasionally have someone bagging on the checkout lines which only slows down how quickly people can get checked out. Because they don't have enough checkout registers open, customers are forced to use the self check out. This too is understaffed. I've never seen more than a single employee running around both areas responding to "help me "issues. Annoying to have to wait while the employee has pulled in multiple directions trying to help a lot of other frustrated customers. What's going on in the deli is not a management issue. It's a Kroger issue. Waiting to have lunch meat cut is a waste of time, but the staff have been told not to cut and package quantities under 3/4 of a pound. Some of that amount almost always begins to spoil before I can use it all, and I usually use it almost daily. I don't understand the point of not offering some of it in smaller quantities. read more

This is my neighborhood KS, so I've been shopping here for almost 20 years. This isn't one of the giant stores. There's no liquor department or DMV kiosks. And some of my favorite cashiers are long gone :( The cheese shop lady is great, and so are the butchers. They'll give advice, share recipes, and occasionally special-order things. The deli people are a little less friendly. We came here in the evening this time, so I didn't see the vitamin lady. I hope that she's still there. The pharmacist, Victoria, and the techs are awesome. Genuinely helpful and very knowledgeable. I've had to call and ask questions like, "Can I take Sudafed before I go to happy hour?" Or, "Will Benadryl make my kid sleep on the plane?" (No. She got wired. Pediatrician laughed. Ha, ha. It affects kids differently.) I like how they're expanding their selection of gluten-free items, and was thrilled to find hibiscus ginger beer! It's really good. I don't normally drink soda, ever, but I make an exception for ginger beer. It's too good :) read more

Eva at the deli/chicken department is EXTREMELY rude!! We have went a few times to try and get a 16 piece family chicken meal and trows a fit telling us we have to call ahead and she is not allowed to give us the meal. While in line to order she was also rude to other costumers. I get that people have bad days but this woman is just taking her anger out on everyone every time we are there. Fast, friendly service is what I received at this location. I came in only for one thing. The new Pepsi Nitro, which has a smooth creamy taste, almost like a ice cream float in a can, but I did go to the hot foods section to get a quick and convenient lunch. While I've been opting for a lot of grocery delivery during the pandemic, I have also found myself needing to run to the store a few times. In these instances, this King Soopers is the closest to me and overall, I've had good experiences! I will say everything about it just feels big. The aisles, the number of shelves, the way the dairy section twists and turns. It's just a lot. That being said, this means that they most likely have what you're looking for as long as you can find (and reach!) it. Of special note is the cheese section which I think is solid for a grocery store, the baked goods, and beer. I also like how they have a lot of locally made products featured throughout. King Soopers offers curbside pickup which I did once and found convenient. I placed the order online and when I arrived, they were super quick to bring it out. I'd definitely go this route again when it made sense. read more

Pharmacy took THREE AND A HALF HOURS to fill prescription for pain meds following surgery. There were no crowds, no warning upfront about length of time, no logical reason to take so long. It was cheap and I have insurance. When someone is in pain, they need their pain medication! Will not use that pharmacy again. read more

What a great King Sooper's in the Highlands Ranch Area! I had a hair appointment in the same strip mall so decided to go to this store to get a few items. it is one of the largest King Sooper's I have ever been in. Very organized, clean and had more items than any other store. They also have a really decent homeopathic and natural products section. Yesterday, 02/26/25, I visited this King Soopers as I do often to grocery shop. The last few times that I have been in this store most of the workers have been professional. However, I usually go to self checkout, and the last couple of times that I have gone to self checkout, There is who I believe is an older Hispanic lady. I do not know her name, however, she is short with glasses and usually works the night shift. The last time I bought something on sale, she could not understand me, as I explained to her that I needed a price adjustment. She signals to me to take her to the aisle were the item was to check the price. This was a little inconvenient as she still couldn't understand me, but after about 5 min later, in what was supposed to be a quick trip in and out of the store, she finally figured it out and I was on my way. Fast forward to last night, I was in a hurry, as I had to pick up my child up from practice, and just ran in to KS to grab some Always pads that were on the weekly special. Upon arriving at self checkout, this occurred around 7:15pm, this same lady was there. I had no problem with her, except that three other people were around me, including a lady behind me that needed help, and this lady, the employ who was supposed to be working, was not just on her cell phone, but had the volume turned full up on speaker was also having a non work related conversation in Spanish for everyone around her to hear, workers, customers, etc. After she reluctantly helped the lady behind me, I finally got her attention to come change the price of my item, as of course it rang up wrong. I know that she cannot speak english, so I pulled up the clipped coupon on my phone, ready to go to show her the price, and make it as easy as possible for her to do her job. However, what should have been a quick fix on her end, and a quick in and out experience for me as I was in a hurry, turned out to be a very flustering 5 minutes, as she was more concerned about having an inappropriate conversation for the whole store to hear instead of doing her job. I know enough Spanish to know that she was just gossiping with what I assume was her friend on the phone. Not only was she displaying her annoyance of having to help customers, and actually do her job, but she also repeatedly messed up so many times due to being distracted, that I almost had to do it my self. After a few minutes of what seemed like much longer then needed for self checkout, I was so frazzled, I forgot my item, and had to go back to get it. You would think that she would have reminded me to get it, but you know, she was more concerned with being on a personal call. Anyways this King Soopers really needs to up its customer service game, as several people I know op to go to another KS just to avoid this unnecessary an very unprofessional behavior of some of these employees. read more

FOUND PIECES OF BROKEN GLASS IN OUR FOOD, BE CAREFUL!!! We bought King Soopers (Kroger) brand of pork sausage, southern style hash browns, and shredded cheddar cheese to make breakfast. While eating, I almost choked on a piece of BROKEN GLASS that I thought was a bone. Pretty sure this kind of thing can KILL PEOPLE. Let the BUYER BEWARE these guys apparently have no quality control. I tried to see if any of this had been recalled, but there are so many recalls on their website, especially ones with foreign matter like plastic, rocks, and glass. Popped into this King Soopers recently while staying nearby. King Soopers is one of the go to grocery stores in Colorado and having grown up and spending a lot of time in Colorado I know it well. This King Soopers is a little dark inside but laid out pretty much like any other grocery store you'll come across. All the good nutritional stuff around the perimeter and the not so healthy in the middle. SCW and I perused a bit of the plant based meat alternatives and they are pretty standard. The prices are a little bit more then we normally spend but not excessive. I did find some fermented kimchi that was new so I gave it a try. Seems to be a local product and is pretty tasty. We got our staples and left fairly quickly. Some tips....apparently you can buy beer in CO grocery stores but not wine. Being wine drinkers we had to make a separate stop for that. Not a big deal. Another is if you use the self checkout and purchase beer the scanner will show ID verification required. That's fine, as it should be, but while waiting most scanners will still process the rest of your transaction so you don't have to just completely stop what you are doing and wait for the clerk to come verify your ID. We didn't know that, and when you scan other items the register still beeps leading you to believe it is still processing the other items. Well, no, it's not. Why it still beeps when you scan other items I have no idea. So basically we scanned almost our entire order, then the clerk came over and told us yeah, nope, got to do scan everything after the beer purchase. That's annoying as we had to pull the items back out and re scan them. Takes extra unnecessary time. All in all not a bad place to shop. Wide aisles and decent prices. read more

This is probably the most unprofessional location we have shopped at. My wife does weekly Monday orders and every Monday they are late,missing items, tell us to come back the day after for pick up, excuses. Finally we asked for a discount due to the amount of times our groceries werent ready for us, and they told us "no, we don't do that". I guess they don't want to make their customers feel appreciated and they don't care about the poor service they are providing. Finally we switched and our groceries were ready for us and in fact they were ready early, imagine that! If you want great customer service, don't go here. Stay far away. In fact I would suggest their competition, they are friendly and they understand that we are on timelines. read more

This review is for pharmacy only. Just hate having to pull our family's prescriptions from our home store but the service is awful. Always a long and slow-moving line, and then, about 7 months ago, the pharmacy managed to get two of my prescription refills off kilter, and cannot manage to correct the problem. One gets filled and the other is never ready the same day...this round, it's been over two weeks and they cannot manage to fill the 2nd half of my prescription. We've mentioned the problem at least five times and the final straw- the male pharmacist working in the evening responded to the tech's inquiry, asking if they can correct the issue, and without looking up, said, "Not tonight, we can't. So, not ever... I'd not recommend this pharmacy. read more

I have visited this KS location regularly for 3ish years. During which the staff has always been very pleasant and the veterans have taken the time to recognize me and greet me personally. I will state clearly that my review is based solely on the staff. KS as a Co. has steadily lost my business as they have adapted to a model that places emphasis on other Businesses offering services in their stores. While some offer value, the cheese group. On my last several visits whether weekends, weekdays or whenever I've had checkers stand and fold their arms and watch me bag my groceries without even offering to assist. Apparently it had been a few months since I stopped in because of a few major changes I noticed recently. Had to stop in for celery flakes, oddly enough this is the only place I have been able to find them. No, it is not some new Kashi cereal, they are dried celery and I use them for homemade soups and dips. Not that I go on a hunt for Celery Flakes, but I do check in the stores I go into. Convenient to my office, I have visited this location at all hours of the day. They do carry a full range of most everything. If you need a quick lunch, they have a great deli and hot foods and soups selections. Get well or Birthday Card, Yes.. You can find it here. Flowers cause you screwed up... Check, even charcoal and fire logs for your BBQ or camping pleasure. So I was met with change #1: The enormous new phallic symbols that block the entrance in. Not sure why they were necessary, I would not think someone would want to drive through the front door of the Highlands Ranch King Sooper's. I find them rather annoying in most any location they are placed. Change #2: They redid the Starbucks location inside. They made it more of a lounge with a neat little fireplace and all. I didn't get much of a chance to look around as it was extremely early in the morning and I needed to get to work. This is our local grocery and we typically frequent the seafood counter where the most friendly and better yet, efficient team members are there to assist. I've rarely had to wait and they are quite patient as we peruse the seafood options. Likewise, the bakery staff is always there to slice a loaf or two of their freshly baked breads. Produce always looks great and is plentiful. You can't beat their sale prices on berries!! Overall the checkout experience is quick and easy. One quick scan of your King Soopers card assures you some sweet rewards at the gas pump. The only critique I have is the overpriced flowers; I'll drive the extra 10 minutes to Trader Joe's for the same exact flower that is sometimes 50% less. Doesn't change my rating though...there is a Starbucks inside with seating by a faux fireplace for an impromptu coffee break. Plenty of parking and plentiful carts. Well done King Soopers! read more

Usually do not shop at this one, but it was on the way back from eating lunch. I don't know if it was something in the water or what, but had 4 employees stop us at some point, and ask if we were doing ok, if we were finding everything ok, etc. I will admit at most other King Sooper's, they will ask 'Hi, How are you', but today it, seemed like we got asked just about every question in the book. The layout of this one is a bit weird. aisles are not just parallel, you have some smaller sections where the store is broken into different sections with aisles still parallel, but perpendicular to the other aisles. It's not just the fruits and vegetables, but other sections as well. read more

I pass the location several times a week. I have made the mistake of stopping here a few times. DONT MAKE THAT SAME MISTAKE. I don't know if this place is built on ancient burial grounds or what but that energy here is TERRIBLE. During my last trip here: 1. I asked an employee where the hummus was. His response, " I don't know, what's hummus." And he turned his back to ignore me. 2. A customer decided to follow me to the check out line and talk about me and how I was walking ( to himself but out loud). 3. As I was leaving, I passed a few employees outside smoking making fun of customers ( very loudly). This was just my last visit, this kind of stuff happens every time I go. This rating is specific to the pharmacy - I like the store as a whole. Unfortunately, I am going to have to move my scripts because they have become rude & inept. Gave conflicting info on process for getting scripts delivered; hardly ever have a very common, auto refill Rx in stock, send scripts to a central supply which results in significant delays even when someone is on premises waiting! Lastly, being rude & catching an attitude (particularly the tech with short red hair) is not acceptable in any retail environment, much less one where you are dealing with ill or injured people in pain. read more

I will start by saying that I am a grocery store snob. I actually drive past the Safeway that is closer to my house, and there is the other King Soopers down County Line that may be equally as close as this one, but I really prefer this King Soopers. It is always clean, produce is always fresh, I love their cheese bar and olive bar, and the best part is the same managers are always standing unobtrusively near checkout lanes to ensure good, quick service checking out! It's organized in a way that makes everything easy to find, I have yet to not find something I need (can't be said for Safeway!) and it's a fairly large store. Staff is helpful for those few times I'm looking for something specific and out of my norm. Carts are regularly pulled in from parking lot and I never see other people's trash/receipts/etc in them. Any time I buy a bag of ice, the bagger always runs to the cooler to grab it for me and put it in my cart. That little detail is HUGE as I frequently have walked out of other stores forgetting to stop by the cooler to grab my bag of ice. The new deli "computer" at entrance really helps speed of the deli process and virtually eliminates the "standing around", instead I do all my shopping and just swing back through the deli before I check out! read more

I hate grocery shopping. Hate. It. But I also hate not having food in the house and existing on drive-through meals. I recently discovered King Soopers Click List and it had saved me and my family's meal times! You go online, order your food and pick them up within the designated hour you selected. They walk out your groceries to your vehicle, load them in your car, you pay and go. It's awesome! My order has been perfect every time! For example, we got a pre-made sandwich (my bad, I know), which looked and tasted like it had been sitting out for days, and was doused in what tasted like some weird Italian-type salad dressing. Well, I can start of by saying it is a King Soopers (AKA City Market) so you should probably know what to expect if you have ever been into a grocery store here in Colorado. There is nothing particularly stellar about this location. It has an acceptable "ethnic foods" section as the part of town it is in (Highlands Ranch) is not as "Culturally Diverse" as other parts of town. So that is impressive. The store is configured in a way that makes sense. So no complaints there. My one beef with this joint is that I am usually in here between the hours of 7:00 pm and 2:00 am and it ALWAYS seems like the guy who does the floor polishing is going. Seriously, for how much he runs that machine their floors should look like a mirror, and for some reason I have yet to determine, he "chases" me around with that silly zamboni thing, he is not chasing me per say, but I have to take evasive action to not be run over several times per excustion to the store. So... being stalked by the floor polishing zamboni driver aside there is nothing really unique or different about this King Soopers. read more

I stopped in for a greeting card and gift card, these employees seem disgruntled and unhappy to be employed. As a long time and regular King Soopers shopper, I have become so disappointed in this brand that I am going to be shopping at the nearby Walmart. Today was the icing. My Highlands Ranch store is full of employees who clearly do not care about service or at least they didn't again tonight. I regularly order my groceries for pick up and today was the last straw for me. The order was placed for pick up between 5 and 6 and this week there was no call or text to tell us they couldn't do it so I showed u at 5:50 just to have Brandon come out and tell me that the order was not ready and wouldn't be ready for at least 45 minutes. he had an attitude as if it were my fault and I told him that it was unacceptable to at lease not receive a phone call to save me the wasted trip. He became very defensive, raised his voice and said that three employees quit and there are only two employees filling orders and that they didn't have time for phone calls. I advised him I would be contacting the store manager. I went home and called the store and requested to speak with a manager, I spoke briefly with Juanita who advised she was just the front end manager and that she would transfer me to Jo Jo the Assistant Store Manager. I spoke to Jo Jo who advised she was the assistant Manager and that the Manager was out of town. I explained what had happened and she again advised they were short staffed. I understand short staffing, and asked her why they continue to allow appointments to be booked when they know they can't fulfill them? Jo Jo advised that it was the system and the system wouldn't allow for any considerations. I asked for a number to reach the District Manager and was told that she didn't have a number and that I would have to call the main number for King Soopers and go through them to reach him. She did tell me his name was Sean Cornelius.I hate posting in this fashion but absent some means to contact a live person who is capable of helping, this was my last resort. Final thought, when we did receive a call an hour after pick up time, we immediately went and picked up and upon unpacking found our produce broken in half (cucumber) and what was obviously the worst onion that could have been found with obvious browning and multiple soft spots. King Soopers near our house at Highlands Ranch Parkway & University is a great place to shop for groceries. I recently had a fantastic customer service experience when I visited the floral department for a last minute Valentine's Day gift for my wife. Don't know if it is because of their proximity to Whole Foods or if it is something King's is doing company wide, but this location has significantly increased their gluten free and organic offerings. We have been very happy with the cleanliness of this store and the staff is great. The produce, butcher shop and seafood departments are all well stocked with high quality fresh foods. The NuVal Program is great too, because it helps you to make smart wellness choices. We probably do 90% of our everyday grocery shopping at King's. We love the self service check out option and don't forget to scan your Sooper Card to get discounts and "Fuel Points" good for discounts on gasoline. read more

Really great prices on essential grocery items! The have a 10 items for $10 special that changes weekly. The managers special that runs on various meats and other perishable items is dynamite if you are on a budget!
