During my most recent visit, I was refused the purchase of a four-pack of chocolate stout because I had accidentally left my driver's license in my gym bag. What concerns me is not the beer. It is the mindset that policy now overrides common sense. I am clearly well over the legal drinking age, had other identification in my wallet reflecting that, and am a regular customer who shops at your stores frequently. Yet the only response I received was that the manager could lose his job for exercising any judgment. This experience reflects a larger problem that has become increasingly common since COVID: an environment where rules, scanning, identification requirements, and corporate liability concerns have replaced basic human interaction and common sense. Employees are discouraged from making reasonable decisions, even when the circumstances are obvious. I do not fault the cashier. My concern is with a culture that places rigid compliance above customer relationships and personal judgment. As a result, my family and I have decided that we will no longer be shopping at your stores. We prefer to support businesses that still value people over procedures and trust over constant regulation and control. We have been purchasing MyFitFood products for years. Yesterday we were told that as of October 1st we will have to pay $10 per month or $100 a year to keep our discounts. Not a membership mind you, just to keep the savings. This is to combat customers giving out their info to others who are not eligible for the discount, such as friends, and family. Now we are thankful for the discount and know they don't have to provide them. We also know a business is in it to ultimately make money but this is a little absurd. I believe this is inherently wrong to charge people for a discount. We have never given out our info to others and agree people should not do that, but we shouldn't have to pay to keep our discount. Especially since there are other ways, better ways to handle this problem. When a business provides a discount it should be seen as a "thank you" and "we appreciate what you do". Not be a "thank you but please pay us for being thankful toward you". Instead of providing better training for their employees, I.e. ask for IDs at purchase, or simply just remove the discounts all together they decided to take the money grab route. That's what this comes down to. I say no to greed. We enjoy the meals but refuse to give in to this line of thinking. We will get our meals for the last time next weekend and will not purchase a meal from MyFitFoods again until they get rid of this policy. There are plenty other competitors that we enjoy to get premade meals. Hope others will follow. You shouldn't have to pay to keep a discount, it defeats the purpose.

I wanted a special birthday cake for my friend, so I called and spoke to Cody at the Safeway bakery. Cody was very knowledgeable as I went over what I desired for the cake. He filled me in as to what might be available. I was able to put in my final thoughts and requirements for pick up time, etc.. Picked the cake up yesterday and it was amazing! White cake with apricot preserves and fresh sliced strawberries for the filling. Buttercream frosting with colorful flowers on top and also cascading down the side. Previously the entrance to self checkout and regular checkout, all were at the end of a traditional shopping route through the store. I had to find my way to quick checkout which was at the start of the store versus the end of the store and so I had to try and maneuver my cart to get into line and that was not an easy process. I'm not sure of the logic, but it is lost on me as a self check person. I hope they can find a better way to manage self checkout than is currently being done.
