This place has False Advertising. Beware!! On their website you go to Promotion they have a Promotion 9 weeks for $99 plus free uniform new students only. They have their Porter Ranch location listed as well as their Simi Valley on their flyer, no where does it say for Simi Valley. I'm taking a picture as well so you can see for yourself. Anyhow I just called and the lady said with an Attitude, "First of all that's for the Simi Valley location!" I told her that the website doesn't list that and that the flyer lists both locations, she just gave me an attitude and I just didn't bother listening to her talk and hung up. Its total false advertising. I've seen their advertisement in the clipper magazine and their website. If it's only for the Simi Valley Location they should list that clearly on the flyer and not waste peoples time. I definitely will not be using this place ever or would recommend. The woman who answered the phone could use some customer service classes I've never had anyone talk to me the way she did and say "First of all". Really??? King Taekwondo is absolutely fantastic! Master Tal, Master Chuck, and the rest of the instructors are just amazing with the students. They are kind and have fun with the kids, but also expect the students to always demonstrate respect for the training and the dojo and maintain discipline at all times. My son started with them early in the year and has learned and enjoyed the training so much! He also successfully tested for his yellow, yellow-stripe, and green belts already! This is a great place for younger kids. Unlike other Taekwondo places that owned by male, King is ran by Master Tall who is a disciplined but motherly figure. The place is organized and pleasant where parents can sit on the benches to watch their kids in action. Student population is generally younger (2-12) but they do have students who are teenagers as well. Besides Master Tall, other instructors are also very helpful and friendly. My son enjoys every single bit of it and wouldn't want to leave every time. For kids at elementary to middle school ages, I think this is a great place for them to learn discipline, self-control and respect. However, there are always opportunities for improvements. This place could get a little toasty in summer time, especially when it is full house during belt examination. Parking could be a little headache from time to time. Overall, I did not regret our decision to choose King Taekwondo for my son. read more

The studio was much smaller in size when my child started. Over the last four years, the studio has evolved and grown in size considerably, which is great, if the attention to the students and passion for martial arts remained. What we have found through the last several belts and months of training is that King's has become nothing more than a mere after school activity, with the goal of packing in as many members as possible, with no real care or attention to teaching the art, simply to collect monthly membership from its students. This can be seen by observing any fifty-minute class, where over 30 minutes of the class are spent doing games, stretches and miscellaneous activities non-related to Tae Kwon Do. We further were able to confirm this by trying a couple new studios over the last several weeks, where the focus and attention have truly been to build students skills and abilities (punches, kicks, forms), and where individual coaching was provided to each student to perfect their performance. Early signs were there, such as the studios mediocre performance and minimal participation in inter-studio competitions over the last couple years. The lack of preparedness for forms is a direct reflection of the poor classroom training you are providing, and one we have supplemented at home through various channels, which should never be the case. read more
