Last year I threw my son a bday party at Quest. It went so well, this year I decided to do it all over again for my daughter. It was such an incredible experience both times. I've thrown many birthday parties for my kids over the years but this one by far was the best and most important, hassle free. I quite literally did nothing but show up with a cake. It has been an amazing ride here at Quest Martial Arts. My daughter has been doing this she was 5 years old. It's so fantastic to see her personal growth by building confidence, seeing her determination, focus, and respect for others. She is now 1st Dan black belt six years later and still going strong. We started during COVID and now 5 years in I can say this team of Karate instructors are the best in the Valley they are the best that has ever happened to our family! Our daughter respects and admires her instructors. They have motivated her and is coming so close to her black belt. They truly care and we are considering enrolling our 3 year old in the coming year!! We love that not only are they dedicated to teaching martial arts but they instill values during the class lessons and I love the activities done outside the dojo, they have trunk or treat , potlocks at the park , games in the dojo, mother and Father's Day activities with the kids , boot camp to help prepare for upcoming tests , and date night for parents , they will watch them so parents can have a night off for a few hours and they get to play games and eat pizza. the best is the humor that comes from some teachers while teaching the kids enjoy it. Update: My daughter has been going to Quest for a year and it's been a hugely positive experience! Not only is she learning self defense and getting lots of exercise but the instructors are super positive and the vibes are always great. The focus on discipline, self control, and positive growth is awesome but also the classes are super entertaining to watch and there is a great family energy with a lot of the advanced students and instructors having been in the program since they were little kids. I have two kids attending Quest - one in Beginners, the other in Lil Dragons. After their first trial lessons, each kid agreed to commit to at least a year. And they look forward to going to their classes twice a week! The staff is top notch. They are all so engaged and enthusiastic with the kids while also commanding respect. They are all approachable, friendly, and patient. Goals are clearly set with tangible timelines and reasonable expectations for each kid. Classes are always a mix of fun and business, which keeps the kids fully engaged the whole time. Each month centers around a different quality or life skill that I've noticed my kids leaning into outside of the studio. The objective for our youngest was to give him a physical outlet that would also teach him respect and discipline. He's 4 so he still has his moments, but his behavior and general demeanor has improved immensely in just 6 months. The teachers have managed to instill this sense of confidence that has led to him wanting to be a leader - it's fascinating. The objective for our oldest was to help improve her focus and her balance. She has a diagnosed developmental coordination delay which causes major challenges in these areas and has lowered her self esteem. Upon telling her teachers this, they agreed that extra attention would be paid to these needs, while also not letting her use her condition as an excuse. And they have absolutely delivered on that promise! Her balance, attention and confidence are at an all time high. We've seen such positive developments in our kids, and have been so happy with this place, to the point that their dad has even joined the studio! Like most kids' activities, it does require an investment of time and money, but in my opinion, it's been worth every penny! read more

I signed my daughter up for karate in Sept 2022. I really wanted to get her more kid interaction, exercise and help gain confidence after spending so much time alone in the house during covid. We have been with the Quest Martial Arts )QMA) team for a little more than 2 years. We started right when the pandemic hit. My son and I train at the Reseda location. He started as a 'Dragon', and is now in their Basic Training program; I am in the Masters Club Program (in intermediate ranks) with the ultimate goal of a Black Belt in mind. The instructors are excellent; not only are they well-versed with the curriculum that needs to be taught, along with the technicalities that go with this form of Korean Tang So Doo, but they are also kind, gracious and truly caring of their students. Each instructor knows every student and parents' names, and they make the time to go beyond the normal pleasantries. The full curriculum at QMA consists of Kickboxing, Korean Tang So Doo (specifically kicks based), self-defense techniques incorporated from Krav Maga and a sprinkle of grappling from Brazilian Jiujitsu. I personally love the amalgamation of the various types of martial arts that is available to the student. The instructors are extremely qualified in their personal area of expertise and together as a team, present an excellent collage of mixed martial artists. From a counselling perspective, they are very open to meeting with both students and parents for a future outlook of their journey in martial arts and how that can be mapped out over the years. This is very helpful to students who need a bird's eye view of the program and that are goal-oriented. During the pandemic, they handled their classes (online and soon after outdoors) as well all the one thousand and more protocols as well as the communication that went with it in an outstanding manner! I personally did not see the way it was done here anywhere else. Really great work and many sacrifices I'm sure, on the part of the instructors and management. All in all, QMA is THE place to be if you love the martial arts and desire a welcoming, inclusive environment with a 'warm embrace' no matter your background. The instructors and management clearly take pride in what they have built/achieved at QMA over the past years and appear to continuously strive for excellence in not only teaching the material but also demonstrating a mastery and passion of their skills/expertise to their students and as an extension, the community at large. read more

Quest speaks Kiddos. Our son struggles with ADHD and reeeeaaaally has a hard time staying engaged with almost anything. From the first minute we walked in the door of Quest Martial Arts, Master Gunther had Holden hooked. (See the difference between the first and second picture- that was within 30 seconds of being there) The fun, fast-paced atmosphere is a GREAT place for kids to learn and play. It's fantastic to see our son be proud and take ownership of his self-discipline. And Quest makes sure their students take what they learn and apply it at home and school. I no longer have to remind him to put on his seatbelt everytime we get into the car, that's his thing now and he takes pride in it. I honestly can't recommend Quest enough. We just had an introductory class for my 4 1/2 year old. The session was amazing. The teacher took their time to really work with my son to build his self-esteem, focus and self-discipline. And my son loved it. So what's wrong, right? Sounds like a great place...except immediately after the class they put us in a used car pressure box sales scenario with my son in the room and tried to get us to sign a $2400 (less if you pay up front) one year commitment to a two 1/2 hour class a week program.
