I recently joined Mayid Martial Arts with my family and I must say that it has been an amazing experience for us all. The dojo is immaculately clean and the people there are incredibly friendly and welcoming. One of the things that struck me most about the dojo was how judgment-free it was. there is a sense of safety in being able to fail and learn from your mistakes. The instructors at Mayid Martial Arts are top-notch, and they truly care about their students. They take the time to get to know each student individually and tailor their instruction to meet the needs of each person. I have been amazed at how much I have grown in just a few short months of training. What I love most about Mayid Martial Arts is that it has brought our family closer together. We grow together as a family and support each other in our individual journeys. We enrolled our son almost a year ago at age 4. Our son is diagnosed on the autism spectrum and had some difficulty with communication early on. We decided to take the free class and on day 1 our son walked into class with the form of a wet noodle. Soft, all over the place and seemed out of sorts. However, he enjoyed the class and we decided to continue cautiously. A year later, our son has transformed completely. He is a sold machine who responds to questions, has self discipline, can defend himself from strangers, and has pride in his abilities. All at age 5!! Cru Dan, Cru Brie, and Cru Sebastian are all wonderful with the youth classes and have helped our child grow towards the next stage of his life. In addition to the teachers, the community built with the parents and students is open, welcoming , and supportive. Mayid is truly wonderful. read more

Beautiful, clean and spacious new martial arts gym that is family owned and operated. Kru Dan Mayid has created a welcoming environment to learn in. I am very excited to continue my martial arts training. Learning martial arts/self defense can be very intimidating but Kru Dan makes everyone feel welcomed and encouraged. I started training with him about 4 years ago at Muay Thai School USA. He led the Muay Thai program at the school and coached a lot of fighters throughout his years. His teaching style is incredibly effective. His classes are tough, but he does a great job at tailoring sessions for every level. Kru Dan and Kru Sara have have embedded a culture of respect for others and yourself, while still attaining a top tier training program regardless of your level. Beginners will be warmly welcomed and individuals looking for competition level training will be able to unlock that potential as well. You will be challenged, but at your own level. Each class will bring you one step higher than the last class as long as you're consistent! The training here is provided by teachers that not only know the technicals aspects, but believe in the positive cultural influence of Muay Thai to transform the practitioners life. While they can train you up to as high a level as you're willing to strive for, you will become a better person too. I started training to provide an example for my son, in hopes he would follow and take classes. My son hasn't exhibited the willingness to train (just turned 3) but Kru Dan Mayid has not shown any impatience and welcomes my entire family into his clean gym with an excellent family environment, all the while pushing the limits of the people training this martial art. read more

I joined Mayid Martial Arts back in 2021 during the midst of the COVID pandemic. That year was my breaking point. Prior to that time, I felt gravely crippled by the way I lived my life passively. I was consumed by negative self-talk and grown accustomed to belief that I wasn't good enough...even to try. Each passing by the studio, I'd be mesmerized by the display of strength and agility. And wondered if I was equipped to be among these ferociously remarkable fighters. Then one day, I figured I'd attend at least a class--soak my feet in the water and maybe gain the idea of becoming more courageous. Oh man...when I stepped through those doors, I sure darn was overwhelmingly intimidated. But even so, the environment gradually began to ease. Environment--meaning ultimately the people, their warmth and equally rough-around-the edges kind of encouragement and support. I remember after that class, Kru-Dan said something profound that stuck with me, "The challenge is in that first step." That first-step was a challenge, but it encouraged me to take another step further. This place continues to challenge me in every way. Most of all, challenges my mindset and how I now approach the world. I've allowed myself to be okay with the fact that I am a definite work in progress. But see it as a path not only for constant growth and learning, but also a path to exceed beyond the barriers and expectations of which are merely self-creations of the mind. I really love this place, ive been attending for a few months now... and can't imagine training anywhere else. I tried a couple different places before deciding to stay at Mayids. The environment here is just great, friendly, clean, safe and very professional. Within the first class I felt more confident! And had a combination down! Kru Dan is the best teacher around. He has devoted his life to martial arts. He is a teacher/coach that brings so much talent and skill to each and every class and private lesson.
