This company did a "field investigation" at Bostwick Lake Park. They failed to recognized warped…read moreboards as a tripping hazard, instead stated there was no emergency measures requiring immediate attention. Inasmuch as they recognized the 6 year old pressure treated boards had considerable splits, they failed to recommend staining to preserve the wood and extend the life indefinitely. Instead the firm stated the pressure treated wound generally last 10 year. Just imagine what that replacement cost would be? Regular staining would keep the wood out of the landfill much longer than 10 year. The firm also incorrectly referenced nails in the deck; the fasteners are screws.

Larry was extremely unprofessional!!!…read more After filling out and paying a total of $120 in application fees Larry requested to inspect our current house where all 4 of us applicants currently lived and 1 of the applicants owned the house out right. Out of the 4 applicants 3 of us had listed the required prior rental references. Because 1 applicant was a home owner she had none. Larry didn't call any of our references (I checked with each company that we listed), but instead he requested to do an inspection of our current home? After thoroughly looking over every room, he then tried to tell us that some spackling on the wall in the kitchen was why he wouldn't rent to us because it was "damaged" -- which the home owner was always doing small renovation projects and it was NOT damaged! After we kept asking more questions about why he WOULDN'T rent to us (we had excellent credit/excellent rental history) he then tried to just convince us to get another car so we wouldn't have to move???? Which was so DAD of him to tell us to change our lifestyle since we all wanted to move to be closer to work so we could walk and bike and not drive. He then left our house in a hurry and didn't even shut the front door. After deciding not to rent from him because the entire required "inspection" was creepy and intrusive and something I've NEVER EVER experienced as a renter of 7 years, I found out that the property he was trying to rent to us wasn't even registered at the time with the City of Grand Rapids. After requesting an application fee refund since it technically wasn't a registered rental he just ignored every email and never refunded our money. When Larry saw that 1 applicant was a home owner and had no official rental history he should've called all 3 other applicants rental history references before requiring an intrusive and probably illegal inspection of our current home at the time. I am SO incredibly happy that we did NOT rent from Palmer Property LLC and would HIGHLY RECOMMEND YOU STEER CLEAR OF LARRY and his business Palmer Property Management -- he does not know what he's doing and is extremely unprofessional in every encounter we had.

The home was…read moresupposed to be filled with new stuff but you can see it wasn't done right and painting sloppy and the guy was rude and dind't have alot of the information. We wanted to keep looking for other houses and once we told him this when he called later he got more rude and made it sound like the house was the best thing ever when its not. The rental houses he talked about with this company weren't good either when we drove past them and looked at the outsides. We still looking for a place but wont go to one of this company's again.

Most aspects of the building that contained my apartment was pretty high quality. They also have a facebook page to foster a community for everyone living in the building which is pretty nice. Unfortunately the apartment is not as large as advertised. The '540 sq ft' apartment I lived in was actually no larger than 450 sq ft (not sure if that is false advertising?). It was also common for the common areas to smell like wet dog. On top of that, when I moved into my apartment the key I was given did not work so I could not access the building. They also forgot to give me a key to the mailbox on the first floor. So, the physical quality of apartments are nice because they are new (albeit a little false advertising on their size). My experience moving in really wasn't that bad but the small things that happened when I moved in seemed quite unprofessional. They indicate a bit of lazy and unprofessional behavior on the management side of things.
