Came home and found the front planting beds covered with water. I was hoping that my wife just over watered the front plants. Not so lucky! I went down in my basement and shut off the incoming water valve (next to the incoming water line that services my home), and still heard running water on the other side of the cement wall. Not good, at this point knew I had a broken service line. Went up to the street and turned off the water at the county water meter. I started to dig up my planting beds to find the leak. I decided (at my age), that I'd rather just pay a plumber to fix the problem. I called TKO Plumbing and got an appointment later in the afternoon. John and his partner (sorry, don't remember your name) called exactly 30-minutes before they arrived. Told John what I found and they started to finish the excavation of about another foot of dirt. They found the leak at a broken elbow just outside the exterior wall. They fixed in no time, but had to wait an hour for the glue to dry before re-applying the water pressure at the water meter. I decided to give Plumb Doc a shot despite their slightly lower rating--and I'm really glad I did. The service I received was absolutely 5-star level. Brian came out quickly and accurately diagnosed the issue: a pin-sized hole in one of the PVC pipes underground in our front yard that feeds the house. We had noticed water running down the driveway and weren't sure if it was just runoff from recent rain or a broken pipe, especially since temperatures had been below freezing. Brian confirmed it was a leak by shutting off the water to the house and checking the meter--we were still using water. From there, Brian walked me through multiple options, ranging from a full pipe replacement to a targeted repair. I was dealing with family health issues at the time and needed the fastest, least disruptive solution so I could focus on being at the hospital. Brian really stepped up. He suggested bringing in a leak-detection specialist using sonar equipment to pinpoint the exact location. It added a few hundred dollars upfront but would save time, money, and yard damage in the long run. We went with that option, and it worked exactly as promised. That evening, a gas technician came out to mark the gas lines, the leak-detection team arrived the next morning, and Brian dug a very small area and replaced the damaged pipe on day two. He even worked past dark to finish the job. Plumb Doc handled everything--all scheduling, coordination, and follow-through. Brian personally made sure every vendor piece was handled correctly. A few days later, after the clay had settled, Brian came back to fill in the hole--even though we had already paid. He even offered to buy a bag of mulch to cover the area, which we declined since we planned to re-mulch anyway. The leak is fully fixed, no more water loss, and the price was completely reasonable. Throughout the process, Brian kept me informed via text, sent photos, and made sure I always knew what was happening. Beyond the technical skill, he's just a genuinely good guy--someone you'd grab a beer with. Too often, you talk to a company owner and then get sent a low-quality crew. That did not happen here. I purchased a Carrier HVAC system from Ragsdale in mid-2025 based on my parents' long-term positive experience with them. But three things have occurred that make me regret my purchase. First, during my sales appointment, I enrolled in the twice-yearly maintenance plan and was told explicitly this included a filter change with each visit. During my first visit, I assume the filter was changed. However, on the second visit, April 17, 2026, a family member was at my house to let the technician in. During this visit, the technician said he would not install the filter without my approval, as it is an additional charge. He left without allowing the family member to call me, nor did he make the effort to call me. Does this mean my filter has never been changed? I called Ragsdale that day to state what was agreed upon at sale and that the situation was unacceptable. I was told I would receive a call from a manager about it. After waiting several days, I called back to follow up. Again, I was told I would receive a call, but didn't. Last week, I received a notification to schedule my next maintenance appointment, which I did. On this call, I told the scheduler about my disappointment with the previous visit and said I would like to speak with the service manager. She said she would have him reach out, but surprise surprise, nothing! Second, when winter came and my new furnace started to be used, I started hearing loud knocking sounds. Since the furnace is in the crawlspace and directly below my bedroom, this severely impacted my sleep. I called Ragsdale and they sent a technician out. He told me this was normal and, overtime, this would stop. It didn't! I called Ragsdale again, and again, a technician came and this time said I needed a new exhaust pipe, as the new system did not fit my existing pipe. I told him I wanted to speak to his manager, as I should not have been sold a system incompatible with my existing pipes, or a solution should have been handled at install. I received no call, even after two further attempts to reach the service manager. On 12/23/25, I received an email with an estimate to replace the exhaust pipe. Again, no call and no consideration. Third, because of Ragsdale's reputation, earned over decades through Art's leadership, and which has now been flushed down the toilet after Wrench Group purchased it, I was ok paying a premium for the service I thought I'd get. I was wrong. I would give Ragsdale an opportunity to earn my trust, but my experience needs to be a complete 180. I don't need a response on here from someone pretending to be Art asking me to call the office. Good customer service would dictate a call from a leader there. I know first-hand that the home services industry isn't easy, but customers deserve much better. Let's see if you all can rise to the occasion. - Jeff Darnell

I called him and he was available to come out within a couple hours. When he got here and inspected the unit, he immediately identified the issue saying we had a bad capacitor. He had one on his truck and had it changed out in minutes and we again had working AC. I asked him to quote some more services and his fees were more than reasonable. Based on his repair service and recommendations he quoted, I believe him to be an honest professional.
