Yelp Review: Stockton Hill Tires…read more Our Volvo was driving like a bucking bronco, so after getting a referral we scheduled an alignment at Stockton Hill Tires on January 6th. After the alignment, they told us the tires needed balancing as well, so we agreed to that. They took the car on three test drives and assured us each time that it was running "smooth" and everything "looked good." We were told maybe we had "bad" tires or possibly a problem with the transmission and sent on our way. Saying the Volvo was driving "smooth" couldn't have been further from the truth. The moment we got in the car, it was vibrating and bouncing just as badly as before. It genuinely felt like they wanted us out the door rather than taking the time to diagnose the real issue. When we got home, a simple Google search pointed to bad CV joints and control arms. We took the car to Tire Works in Bullhead City, and they confirmed exactly that. It's hard to believe Stockton Hill Tires didn't catch something so obvious. Tire Works replaced the parts, and now our Volvo drives perfectly. The staff at Stockton Hill Tires were friendly, but friendliness doesn't fix a car. Whether they didn't know what they were doing or just didn't want to deal with it, the result was the same. Based on our experience, I can't recommend them. Tire Works in Bullhead City, on the other hand, got the job done right.

My vehicle had always been serviced by the dealership since purchased and I had been happy with them until about 2-3 years ago. After 3 years of total frustration with the dealership I finally took my 2007 Santa Fe to Holden's. So glad I did! Christian and the mechanics jumped in to trace the check engine codes dealing with the throttle assembly/sensor, identified the source there, and the long crank to start issue (fuel pump). They replaced the necessary parts and fixed all my issues. And they kept me apprised of their ongoing efforts and estimated costs along the way to solve the 3-year puzzle. They also worked hard to get it back to me before the 4th of July weekend. What a relief. BTW-I am almost 74 years old and Holden's never gave me the feeling they were trying to take advantage of an older lady. I found just the opposite. They wanted to know the entire history and they listened to me list the issues that had been occurring and made notes in my file. For about 3 days of labor tracing the elusive engine codes, parts and repair it cost me $930.87. Worth every single penny! And when it was ready they sent an Uber to pick me up on their dime. Impressive. When I paid my bill Christian and the mechanic (sorry I didn't get his name) were excited and proud to show me pictures and explain what they found and how it was repaired. Now I have my dependable transportation back and the confidence that it isn't going to fall apart on me like the dealership was attempting to make me believe. I believe we had 2 separate motivations at play; a dealership trying to scare/frustrate me to the point of buying a new car or Holden's honestly wanting to find the problem, repair it and return my dependable Santa Fe to me. I highly recommend Holden's Auto Service to anyone looking for honest, dependable and experienced auto mechanics and service. They actually care.

After just a full work day I as informed the problem had been fixed. I arranged pick up during non business hours and paid the $391.40 via credit card over the phone. I was not informed of the $13.70 "administrative fee" and was not aware of it until the charge went through. I picked it up retuned to my winter home base and then got on the road a week later. 160 miles down the road I saw the engine was over heating and now had a major leak. In Glendale and we found that the "fabricated" connector was so heavy as it was made of brass (instead of the OEM plastic) that it pulled the hose into the fan and rubbed a hole in the hose. Not only was I charged twice as much for the "fabricated part" than the OEM part but it caused more damage. After discussing the issue with Joe's they decided to refund the entire $391.40, I'm sure hoping that I do not report their illegal fix to the state automotive board, however they would not refund the administrative fee. Please be aware of the very unprofessional work at Joe's Auto RV and Truck Repair. They are a horribly unprofessional organization.

I returned and the mechanic repaired two leaks and did not check anywhere else. I found all five leaks and ended up repairing three of them myself. The owner Joe had little to no concern and just kept telling me to return a third time for additional repairs. He was quick to take my money and not to inspect what he expected. Poor service and customer service.
