From previous service here, I thought they could be trusted. I ABSOLUTELY DO NOT recommend this business. Took my Challenger in for an oil change and they charged me just shy of $300. Last October the same oil change cost $140. They said the difference ($152) was cleaning the K&N filter. Also, they went on a 6-mile "test drive." I'm sure if it wasn't a high performance car, that wouldn't have happened. read more

I took my dads F-150 into the shop last week to be diagnosed. It was running very rough, almost cutting out, couldn't get any power. My husband and I went to pick it up yesterday. We were told it's not worth it to fix, and was quoted $3500-4000 for a new engine due to cylinders misfiring and timing chains stretched/broken. We got it back to my dads house and hooked up our code reader. It had a bunch of misfiring codes, and a VVT code. No codes indicating the timing chains were broken or needed repair. We decided let's go buy a new VVT solenoid and replace it and see if that fixes the problem. $60 and 15 minutes worth of work. Now we weren't 100% sure this would fix it, but low and behold we started it up and it ran perfectly. No idling rough, it gets up and goes, and guess what? NO codes! Took it for a drive, and it's running perfectly just as it was before. Now I understand this is a busy shop and they were busy. But dammit, the unnecessary stress this caused my dad, is absolutely unacceptable. If you don't have the time to be thorough, don't immediately jump to "it needs new timing chains and engine, it's not worth it to fix it." We aren't certified mechanics, but we figured out what the problem may be in 2 hours and had it fixed and running. All for $60. read more

My check engine light came on and my company route 66 auto told me to take it to taflans I took my car there and like I don't know what they did but they did amazing like my car is running more amazing and everything there was definitely a major difference from when I took it in. I picked up the car and it literally ran like a brand new car again. I don't know what the hell they did but we need more of it good job guys :) read more

I had a mishap on the 40 and called here, Doug was extremely patient and courteous to me on the phone. When I showed up, turns out it was a quick fix and I was in and out with not issues at all. I dropped off my car the evening before my appointment because I'm not a morning person! By 10:00am, I received a call from Doug telling me that my car was ready! I was shocked! He replaced the power steering pump, changed the oil and was honest enough to tell me that the power steering belt did not need to be replaced (which I said they could). I had to get the front axles replaced while on a trip visiting family in Kingman, AZ. My car started acting up 20 minutes before I arrived into town. The first shop I took it to couldn't find the problem. So i called anothet one. All the staff were super nice. One of the 2 mechanics loaned me a cellphone charger while I waited. My car started overheating on the way to Las Vegas so we dropped it off here (they were closing) and Mr. Taflan gave us a ride to the can rental place - we asked to call a cab - what a nice guy! Awesome service. My radiator needed replacing and they did it - the day before thanksgiving too. I would give them zero stars if I could, they are crooks. They charged me $256 for AC service, and an oil change. 3 days later my AC wasn't working, so I brought it back to them, and they charged me an additional $190 to fix what they should have fixed in the first place. I would never take my car to these thieves again. read more

So, I decided to get gas... And my car decided it might want a new power steering pump too.... I stopped at the Flying J and pulled up yelp.. What was I going to do 2 hrs from home... I found about 8 reviews on this repair shop all of them beaming with good things to say. So I gave them a call the front office women was very kind and helpful in getting me a discounted room at the Hotel next store and my car in the garage the very next morning. I'm currently waiting for a call to see if I need to extend my stay or if they can fix it today.. I'm pleased so far and I feel safe as a single women broken down in a strange town. Great customer service and nice people. I was on my way through when my car decided to stop on the freeway after dark and I was in the middle of nowhere. I had myself towed to here because of the yelp reviews. Apparently, the tow company in these parts knows Taflan and highly recommends them. Right after opening, I walked in to drop off the keys and have it worked on. The symptoms of the breakdown looked like it would have been a $700 - $800 fuel pump fix, but Taflan himself diagnosed it to a $200 dollar distributor cap issue and got me on my way by 11:00am. read more

I am treated like an intelligent human who knows my car and understands what is happening. As a single woman, that is not always a common occurrence. Had some repairs done this morning, fuel injector issue, their rate is 91.00 per hour VERY nice people, friendly, Mike told me up front cost of repairs approximately 275.00 Had to fix my truck. He told me most of the cost is labor, no parts involved at all. Rodents had chewed on my wiring, which be was able to tape the wires. Total bill was 268.00 I truly think I was overcharged at least 100.00 He worked on the truck no more than1 hour They k ow what they are doing as far as repairs,but not fair as far as pricing. Mike the owner called me and explained all the repairs that he had done, he had to do some soldering to fix the wires, cleaned out the rodents nest in my truck. I think that they are an honest repair shop and I would recommend them. It is hard to get a firm price at repair shops because they never know what they are going to run into as far as repairs. I previously had radiator work done here and they did a fine job on that. What my problem is is that I called to make a new appointment because something going on with my transmission. I informed the shop that I already had the codes and that it was definitely a transmission problem. So they said they could not get me in until 5 days later (hey I understand, they're busy). So day comes around to my appointment, they call me later to discuss problem. They say it's with the transmission (no kidding-I already told you the codes when I called). Then they "inform" me that they do not do transmission work. Is it just me or should they have told me that when I called originally and told them it was a transmission problem? Oh well, I guess it was a $105 lesson (they charged me that to plug THEIR diagnostic machine into my Jeep-again, I had already told them the codes) to learn that when calling an automobile repair shop you must ask them if they even specialize in what you're looking for. No biggie, I have to do this when I call hair salons. I have to ask do you know how to use bleach because I want blonde not orange. Anyways, I took to Kermit's Transmission after all this BS and they fixed the problem and are the most honest mechanics that Kingman AZ has to offer. read more

Absolutely stellar service! Half my brakes went out while driving from California to Arizona but only knowing "something" was really wrong I found Taflan's through my GPS and set up an appointment for the following morning. It was such a stroke of luck to find such a caring and dedicated mechanic because of my GPS. Right when they opened, Mike Taflan himself worked on the car and knowing that I was on a cross-country trip and was losing time to get on the road had his office assistant call around to see if they could locate the proper hose for my 18 year old car. Meanwhile, fearing he wouldn't be able to locate one, he personally headed out to the town auto dump to see if he could find me something that would work. That is what I call a truly customer-oriented mechanic!!! Not only was a proper hose found but the parts place drove it over to the shop and two hours to the dot after coming through Taflan's door, I was on the road again. Couldn't be more pleased. The very friendly receptionist We leave for me to bring my car in as soon as possible and they would definitely work on my car to get me back on the road. After having my vehicle towed to their repair shop, my vehicle was repaired right away even though they were full. The radiator was replaced along with the thermostat and the price was very low. This place was great! We are on a road trip from Northern California to the Grand Canyon and then headed to Las Vegas when we noticed a loud scraping sound coming from our tire. We had just stopped in Kingman for a coffee, so we called around to see if anyone could take a look at our car. Courtney was so polite and friendly on the phone and told us to bring it in. Mike, the owner, checked it out right away and was able to order a part for it and got us back on the road. My car recently started making a grinding sound. I had 2 diagnostics, one who found nothing wrong and charged me $52 and the other telling me I need a new transmission. My 3rd diagnosis was with Taflan's Auto who correctly identified that my car needed a new wheel barring. They made special arrangements to get my car in ASAP and were able to fix it in the same day. They were courteous, well informed, went out of their way to get my car fixed, and provided excellent service. I would not hesitate to recommend them to others. We were traveling from Montana to Arizona for a family reunion. In California, the vehicle started to vibrate and there was tremendous road noise. We were in Kingman on a Sunday, so we spent the night and I looked on Yelp for mechanics in Kingman and found stellar reviews for Taflan's. My husband took the vehicle to Taflan's at 8:00 a.m. on Monday. The man said he'd look at it and call us. He called about one-half hour later saying that the rear universal joints needed to be replaced and he'd have it finished by 11:00 or Noon. We hung out in the hotel, and at 10:30a.m., he called and said it was ready. Tremendous service - and the end cost was less than he quoted at first. If you live in Kingman, you probably already know about this treasure, but if you're traveling and find yourself with car troubles in Kingman, this is the place to go! read more

I didn't actually have any work done at this shop, but my car started leaking transmission fluid and it was almost 5pm when I stopped in. I was traveling across the country and looking for a quick fix. The 2 ladies in the front office were very nice and helpful. They even went out of there way to call other shops in town to help get me in same day (no luck) but scheduled me an appointment at another shop for first thing in the morning. Excellent and timely help Last Monday, I was driving my family from Vegas and on to the Grand Canyon. We spent a night in Kingman, Arizona, and on the drive from our Best Western motel to a restaurant the car sounded very labored upon start-up after dinner. Reluctant to start. My son checked for recommendations on Twitter and found several reviews of this auto repair shop. We checked the hours and decided to call early Tuesday morning and see if we could take the car in. Tuesday morning we called and were told to bring the car right in. When I began to start the car, it did not start. So, I called back and was told that the shop would send someone out to check the car. Luckily we were very close to the shop at the motel. Long story short...Mr. Taflan and an assistant came out and started the car fine and took it back to the shop. Turned out to be the battery. The car was ready within an hour and a half. And I was very relieved to have had an experienced mechanic look it over to see if there was a deeper problem. We were back on our way. Very pleased. read more

Charged to much money for too little work, my transmission fluid wasn't even looked at even though the problems I was having were mainly because there was NO transmission fluid. I am a young woman still learning how to take car of a vehicle properly. They took money for a new thermostat and one spark plug and 100 miles later I ended up on the shoulder, had to get a tow to the next store to get transmission fluid and now my check engine light has come on as well since leaving this shop! No recommendation! The tow truck driver helped me more than the mechanics there.. They didn't care about a thing but getting cash in their pocket! The front desk lady is very sweet. read more

On July 25, 11, my son and nephew, an active duty marine, were driving back to Texas in my deceased fathers 55 chevy flatbed pickup. They broke down just a few miles east of Kingman in the middle of the night. I found a very nice tow truck driver who didnt hesitate to go "save my boys" for me. He towed them to a vacant lot across from the Days Inn west. The next morning they spoke to Mike Taflan of Teflan Quality Automotive. My husband was trying to help them repair the truck over cell phones so they could get to Tx. By the morning of the 27th, Mike Taflan told the boys they'd have to remove the truck by that day or he would have it towed at their expense. All they needed was a little understanding and kindness and that is not what they got from this man. There are certain people in this world who I believe deserve a little more respect than others and our active duty military is at the top of that list. This man instead of showing common decent humanity to my son and nephew when they needed some help and were stranded, showed them he does not care about the sacrafice my nephew has made for his country! The boys waited till late that night and pushed the truck across that 4 lane highway as to not bother Mr. Taflan's empty lot. My husband and I ended up going and getting the boys and towing the truck back to our home in Pioneertown, Ca. I believe what goes around, comes around and someday when Mr. Taflan needs that same kindness and decent humanity shown to him, its not gonna happen and I hope he remembers those 2 boys who he could have been a little kinder to and wasn't. read more
