This store has gone extremely downhill over the years. The store is literally falling apart. Between the ceiling with noticeable water damage, the floors missing tiles, and the employees lacking in the customer service department, this place needs some TLC. It's gotten so bad I even heard the liquor store in the back was leaving due to poor conditions and managements lack of care. I've seen workers get yelled at and harassed on the sales floor by other associates, management and even other customers. It's no wonder they can't keep anyone, if I got treated that way I'd leave too. I can't help but feel bad for them and it makes me wonder if this location will be next to shut down. You almost have to search to find this King's location, tucked behind a hill and hidden by the Erie Lackawanna (ok, NJTransit) railroad tracks. Small by King's standards, but well stocked, high quality produce, and a small but choice booze section. Plenty of parking, and the store is well kept and clean. read more

This is the best Kings I have dealt with since I been doing instacart. I can not remember the night manager name that works 3 days a week, but she is awesome. She was helpful all thru out my journey shopping. She was outstanding. She is the definition of a manager who has excellent customer service. The staff was also helpful. Can't beat this King's location for convenience. Since it's been under new ownership it's gone from a gourmet food market to a purveyor of rotten food. Their recipes (guacamole) are bad and their produce is hit or miss. Throw out the moldy corn tortillas already!! Given the prices, I would expect much better. read more

I grew-up at a time when the name KINGS was synonymous with quality. Sadly, this store makes a mockery of that lineage. Ridiculously overpriced, many times food is sold past its sell by date, and now an offensive digital coupon system that always rings up wrong. Expensive, but has a nice selection. Good produce, cheeses, desserts, fresh bread etc.

This is quite possibly the worst location in the entire King's franchise and a dismal example of a grocery store in general. The interior needs an overhaul and often appears dirty and run down. They seem to have a lot of trouble understanding what items are popular, as they can't seem to keep certain things stocked with any regularity. The meat selection is limited and often looks past its sell-by date. The staff are rude (or even worse - don't seem to care at all) and often glued to their cell phones. The management is often absent, and the management staff I do see regularly look unkempt and seem more interested in being "buddies" with the staff than running a grocery. I think this location is trying to turn around, but it's really just putting lipstick on a pig. Unless they can get the basics right, the higher-end touches are meaningless. read more

Very rude cashiers. These two women tonight were having a conversation to themselves knowing my mother and I were next to be checked out and when we asked them to start ringing us up the woman told us to take our stuff out of the basket, very bluntly. While they were checking us out they just continued laughing and talking under their breaths. Once we took our stuff they laughed again very loud. I was in shock of how rude they were being seeing that it wasn't even busy in the store. We as customers should feel welcomed in the store and they made us not want to go back. Very rude. read more

Tiny Kings has everything you'd expect for a tiny store and you would be surprised at the selection of items for a wide array of international and national dishes. In the last year they overhauled the liqueur store and deli and POW!, it's now upscale with that narrow isle New York City feel. Eugene in the meat section knows his business and will take care of you. Great selection of all the necessities and a little more of this and that. I love the tiny store vibe! After getting FOOD POISONING from their Kings brand Spicy Italian Sausage, I refuse to buy meat from this establishment again. Also--we live down the block and every time we go into this Kings we regret it. Rude, moody staff. Every single one of them. Poor selection of items & generally Kings is overpriced. I do have to agree with most of the reviews about the staff.... They are all pretty uninterested and can be rude. Not all of them but some of them. The location is really convenient for me, so I find it easy to just suck it up and go here, although the store could be so much better. Prices are outrageous. If it wasn't so convenient I would never come back. The staff behind the deli counter is baffling! Literally I could not believe my ears and eyes the last time I shopped there (Sunday). A gentleman and a lady both working. As if they couldn't be bothered I approached them and received no acknowledgement so I went to the pre-sliced packages deli offerings and didn't see what I wanted. I shopped around and returned to the same greeting. Nothing but blank stares. I said, "excuse me, do I need a number or.." the guy says, "what do you want!" I give him my order and as I am waiting a gentlemen probably in his 70's approaches and orders a quarter lb. of chicken salad. He wanted homestyle. The women behind the glass starts scooping from the one that is labeled honey chicken salad so the man tries to stop her and said along the lines of "excuse me ma'am, I ordered home style." The evil look that was shot at him along with the attitude response "sir, thats what im giving you" ok so he says well the label you are scooping from says honey, she snaps back and says sir we only have one kind of chicken salad. So I intervene because the man couldn't express he was so taken aback by the attitude. I told her there are two dishes labeled chicken salad and the one she is scooping from is labeled honey, she yells at me "forget what the labels say, I'm scooping homestyle is that what you want!?" The guy responded so politely, "yes ma'am that is, im sorry the label says.." and she just says, "forget what the label says already" and he goes "im not trying to start a problem ma'am, thank you" and I can't believe these are the people working a counter in a supermarket. No hospitality, not courteous, not thankful, no manners, straight rude!! Pretentious? To good? Idk but I will never get deli meat from there again. read more

for an upscale small grocery in an upscale town.... the store managers should emphasize "customer service" to the employees because my experience tonight was not good at all. Cashier's name Iyonnah chatted with the other employee for a good 5 minutes WHILE I was on line waiting - she saw me and the other employee saw me too BUT that didn't stop them from chatting. When I asked if she will ring me up she gave me a sassy look and asked me if I was going to take my 6 pieces of goods out of the basket.. and so I did... HOW RUDE!!!!! read more

After four years of being mildly annoyed by the rude and surly staff, today was the tipping point! I got there at 6:58 this morning (it opens at 7:00) and saw two women waiting at the door outside (and it's a little nippy today) because they wouldn't open for us. TWO MINUTES before the store opens and no one is even looking at us except one woman leaning against the "service" counter STARING/GLARING at us. Finally the two minutes go by and she walks slowly over and opens the doors. She NEVER says "hello" or "welcome" or heck, why not a "sorry - store policy"!? So I grab my carton of cream and go to the one register open (with this same woman). It's the express register. I put down my cream and she (finally) looks at me and says, "You can go to the next register." She LEAVES me (doesn't pick up my cream as a courtesy) and goes to the second register (with no light lit). I walk over. She turns on the light. I pay. She gives change. NEVER looks at me and never says thanks or sorry for the inconvenience. I don't like this place usually because of the rudeness, but now will go out of my way to avoid it. AND it's one block from our house :( I just called the store to talk to the manager but he's not in yet. (It took at LEAST 12 rings for someone to answer even though there were more employees than customers there just five minutes ago). I asked the guy on the phone what the name of the woman was at register 2. He said there wasn't anyone at #2. I asked if anyone was at ANY register. "Oh, yeah," he said (it was like pulling teeth.) Finally after an interrogation with this guy who said he didn't "know her name" HUH? You don't know who you work with? I told him to ask what her name is. He put me on hold to find out. Her name is "Busher." BTW... Just looked at all the other reviews about this place. The staff has been rude for YEARS. That's management's fault. read more
