Bad woman.
Deeply Disappointing Experience -- Twice
I rarely leave negative reviews, but my experience at this herbal shop has been unacceptable -- and it has now happened twice, both times with the same older woman who assists customers.
From a customer service and business-operations standpoint, several issues keep repeating:
1. She does not listen to customers and often avoids answering questions directly.
2. Inventory is not managed properly. On two separate visits, she tried to limit how much I could purchase, even when I clearly requested a specific amount. It was obvious she wanted to keep the remaining stock for herself or for the store's convenience.
3. She repeatedly attempted to upsell unrelated Western vitamins, even after I clearly stated that I was looking for specific Chinese herbs. Once I showed her the exact item I needed, she suddenly "found" it and knew the benefits -- which made me question why she didn't offer it from the beginning.
4. Her emotional reactions were disproportionate and unprofessional. Simple questions were met with dramatic behavior or defensiveness, making the interaction unnecessarily stressful.
5. Pricing was inconsistent. She initially quoted a higher price, and only corrected it when I checked the scale myself.
During my most recent visit, I requested a two-week supply of herbs multiple times, yet she only prepared a three-day portion. Even after clear explanations, she continued to minimize the amount and gave excuses that made no sense. When I firmly asked for honesty and transparency, she became upset and refused to complete the transaction.
I even asked to speak with the doctor in the back, but unfortunately, it seemed that the situation was explained to him inaccurately, which left me feeling blamed for something I did not do.
After this experience, I decided to return the product and purchase higher-quality herbs from a grocery store instead.
At this point, I no longer feel comfortable shopping here and will be getting my traditional herbs from Chinatown moving forward.
Customer trust matters.
Consistent misinformation, emotional manipulation, and poor service drive customers away. I hope management addresses this pattern, but I personally will not be returning. read more
