I recently visited Health At Last and wanted to share my experience. While there were some positive aspects, unfortunately, I cannot recommend this business due to the lack of transparency and communication regarding my care. On the positive side, Joy, the assistant who assisted me during my visit, was an absolute delight. She was professional, kind, and represents the office very well. My chiropractor was also very pleasant and seemed to be very thorough, although I only saw him twice. However, as someone with several health issues, I had a lot of questions and concerns. I did extensive research before choosing Health At Last, as I was sold on their various treatments and interdisciplinary approach. Unfortunately, I felt like I was being given the runaround when trying to obtain information about the cost of treatments and whether insurance would cover them. The front desk manager told me she didn't know and that I would have to check with the doctor during my next appointment. But when I asked the doctor during my next visit, he told me that I needed to check with the front desk for that information. This back-and-forth was frustrating and left me feeling like I wasn't receiving adequate care. Overall, I cannot speak to the quality of care I might have received at Health At Last because I decided to go elsewhere. With so many choices out there, I found it too difficult to get a straight answer about my care. In addition they seem to care about yelp because they offer a discount if you check in, but when I inquired about the 20% discount at checkout. I came here several years ago with debilitating pain from spondylolisthesis, severe TMJ, neck pain, and S.I joint issues that left me unable to even pick up a grocery bag. The adjustments from Dr. Matthews and Dr Yu , along with a couple good massages and some acupuncture (all conveniently located under one roof) has over the course of a few weeks turned around my bad back. I want to say upfront that I don't like leaving negative reviews, and I gave management several opportunities to address my complaints. I mentioned my issue on the way out and left them private feedback several weeks ago, but never got a response. I made an appointment for dry needling with Dr. Jenny. I was very clear with office staff before booking, asking if they really do dry needling, as this is a less-known treatment and some offices just don't do it. Many just assume it's the same as acupuncture. I paid $120. Reviews were good and I looked up Dr. Jenny, seeing that she had many years of experience. The reason I made the appointment was because I was able to vet the office and this specific provider. But when I arrived, I was not greeted by Dr. Jenny but by a random man who said he was going to do acupuncture on me. Unfortunately there was a language barrier and we had a very confusing conversation. I was trying to figure out who he was, where Dr. Jenny was, why he was trying to give me an acupuncture treatment, and whether he was qualified/experienced in dry needling. Especially given my nerve pain condition, I don't like the idea of a random person I've just met sticking needles in my body, especially if it seems like they don't know what they're doing. For instance, it seemed like they were using acupuncture needles instead of the needles normally used for dry needling. I nearly left, but he encouraged me to stay, saying he would give me the treatment I wanted. I had already made the long trip and paid, so I reluctantly agreed. The treatment itself was fine but a little strange. We discussed cupping but I didn't realize he was going to do it to me until the cups were on my back. He did do some kind of needle treatment, but it was unclear if he knew how to do it properly given our confusing conversation. It was a very uncomfortable experience overall and definitely not worth $120. I don't blame the gentleman at all. He was very nice. But I do blame management for pulling a bait and switch with the provider, poor communication among office staff, not facilitating the conversation between this new man and me, and failing to address my concerns after the fact. read more

Don't walk, run in to see Dr. Matthews and their staff! One of the best medical experiences of my life! I've had chronic back pain for many, many years. But after just three weeks of seeing Dr. Matthews my pain is GONE. He's incredible, he's smart, and he's also one of the nicest doctors you'll ever encounter. Hello! I don't really write reviews on yelp but I actually wanted to because this place is AMAZING! So, due to my constant anxiety, I get knots and lots of tension on my shoulders and neck. Since we've been in a global pandemic, I haven't exactly been able to go get massages for these knots! It got so bad I was restless at night for two weeks AND then for two days straight I had migraines and woke up vomiting and dizzy. It was so horrible, I was afraid I was sick! I called in for an appointment and they were straightforward about cost and any other information I'd need before going. I walked in and they're EXTREMELY friendly, informative, and overall HELPFUL! They got rid of most of the tension on my shoulders and lower back and and guess what? NO MIGRAINE! I was in shock because that same morning I was lethargic and dizzy to feeling completely fine! I had a really bad neck swelling that resulted in constant arm pain down my right arm that developed during the lockdown. I looked everywhere for osteopathic treatment. These guys are dual degree DO + DC, which is fantastic. My pain went away and I was able to go back to the gym and hoop. I really owe these guys my livelihood now. I've been coming here since. This place was such a solid find. The doctors -- no matter who you get -- are all experienced and kind and attentive. As a customer who was paying cash, I was honestly afraid that they would treat my grandmother differently because of this. But I didn't feel like there was a difference between the other patients and her. I have already referred several other family members to visit! The only reason for not giving them 5 stars is the front desk staff. My first time visiting, the front desk person (Stephanie?) was making side comments to the other staff member with her. They even made remarks about my grandmother and questioned why she was moving to another room (this happened after the doctor asked her to move to another room). There is a different staff member who greets and speaks to my grandmother in Spanish and she helped me get over my initial irritation with the staff here -- so thank you for being so gracious! Again, the doctors are great but hearing someone talk poorly about the patients and mocking them once they're with the doctor is a sign of poor work ethic and character. read more

I was having migraines and I suspected it was stemming from my neck that felt like it needed tweaking. I hadn't seen a chiropractor in about 3 years and and then years before that but Dr. Matthews was definitely amazing! He took the time in the initial consult to ask me what was going on, ask me about my diet and water intake, work setup, etc. We came up with a plan to help prevent the causes of neck pain and poor posture. Then he worked his magic and I felt several things pop back into place. I immediately felt relief and over the next week my migraines faded down to one in the week (as opposed to daily and all day). My fiance and I came in yesterday for massages. This was my first professional massage.I was very nervous however, the staff quickly made me feel at home. I was greeted by ShaQuanda and Kayla. They both were very polite and very informative. ShaQuanda was my therapist and Kayla was who my fiance selected both ladies were great! The rooms were very clean and relaxing! This is my first review on yelp. I called Dr. Matthews office and was able to get same day appointment. The office was clean and the receptionists were wonderful. Dr. Matthews took his time to conduct several tests and asked detailed questions to diagnose my condition i am impressed by how much time he took and how much he was interested to what i had to say. They administered several treatments, including adjustment. I am quite amazed that my low back pain considerably subsided with just one treatment.
