I had the privilege of coming to Boston for the month and serving alongside King's Hill Church. The family dynamic of the church is unlike any church I have ever seen. It was amazing to see a church act like a family and always be there for one another. One thing I loved about the Sunday services is that they go through the books of the Bible consistently, chapter by chapter, each week. The worship at the church was amazing, and so were the messages. I also love how mission-focused the church is; the main goal is to go out into the city of Boston and reach the unreached. They do things like passing granola bars at T stops in the city and also doing spiritual surveys on college campuses in order to reach out to people within their city. I love that they are constantly wanting to share the gospel with the city of Boston and bring people to know Jesus Christ. They are also a very welcoming church. Coming into the month, I did not know anyone there, but all of the members welcomed me with open arms and made me feel loved, which was awesome! As a mom of 4 young kids in the city, a great kids program is super important! It means a lot that my girls are able to communicate with me what they learned about from the Bible during their time in King's Kids (they're all 5 years and under!) every week. Besides a great kids program, three things stand out to me about the church: 1. They love the Bible and are committed to teaching it well. They just started the book of Titus this past Sunday, and go verse by verse through it. I love this, and am very thankful that I'm able to walk away from the teaching time having dived deep into the text. 2. They represent who lives in the city - a mix of college students, young professionals, and a few families. 3. They love their community and want to serve the people around them. This summer they're hosting 15 college students from around the country that will be helping do various projects throughout the Fenway, Mission Hill, and Back Bay neighborhoods. I'm thankful that the leadership and members of this church are putting their faith into action! read more

If you're looking for a church in Boston to go to, I cannot recommend King's Hill Church enough! I've been going to Kings Hill Church for almost 3 years now, and it's been one of the best parts about living in Boston. Unlike other churches I've been to before, King's Hill preaches through books of the Bible instead of doing topical sermon series. I love this because I've learned so much about the context and true meaning of the text! Beyond the preaching, the people at King's Hill are so welcoming and create a positive, encouraging community. The people at King's Hill have become some of my closest friends! I've been able to serve the Boston community as well with King's Hill and it's been a blessing to myself and those around me. There are so many opportunities to grow at King's Hill through weekly Lifegroup gatherings, monthly gatherings with those in similar life stages, and spontaneous events. I've gotten the pleasure to attend King's Hill several times over the last few months, including being one of their summer interns, and it is one of the most gospel-focused, Bible-preaching, missions-minded churches I have ever been apart of. King's Hill is an amazing close-knit community of believers that want nothing more than for you to be a part of their family. It's the kind of place where you never feel like a stranger. The staff and members are completely bought in to the idea of making the gospel known in Boston and around the world and it is an amazing thing to get to witness. The four weeks I was there this summer, I was pushed more in my faith than I ever have been and also found some of the best church community and leadership I have ever experienced. These people are not just in it for a social hour on Sundays-- they are completely bought in to the Gospel and to each other! I've been to this church six times now and I have felt very welcomed every time. Jonathon Mosely is the pastor and his sermons are very interesting and keep everyone engaged. He preaches straight from the Bible and everything they say is based on it! That was my only requirement for a church here in Boston. Before the service there was a refreshments table with coffee and water and sometimes there are snacks. If anything is wrong with this church, it would be the temperature in the building. But it is Boston and not everywhere has central air. They also had fans circulating the air so they did care about trying to cool us off! I would recommend this church to anyone that wants to hear the Bible preached and worship God. If interested in further study there are plenty of ways that they offer for people to get connected as well as membership opportunity. King's Hill Church is a great local church that has their priorities correct! read more

If you're looking for a church home in Boston that's easily accessible, King's Hill Church is a great place to go. The worship was wonderful, the preaching was straight from the Bible, and they practice communion once a month. I was only there for a month, but I could see God working and moving in the lives of the people there. On top of that, all of the people there were so kind and generous towards me and my friends. I'm a bit of an introvert, so going into church without knowing anybody was very difficult for me. However, at the first event I went to with King's Hill, called Summer in the Psalms, someone went out of their way to talk to me before the event started and I immediately felt comfortable and at ease. If I ever get the chance to go back to Boston, I'd definitely make King's Hill church my home. read more

As soon as you come in you get welcomed in the most genuine way. The members of the church are so nice and friendly, you can see how they show the love of Christ through their hospitality. The worship was so inspiring, it made me reflect in so many ways. On the other side, the preaching was so good! I spent my summer in Boston, and the people at Kings Hill made me feel at home despite being thousands of miles away from home. One of their mottos is that "the church is not like a family, it is a family." I have never seen that displayed so well in any church I have been part of. The members and staff alike are not just a group that meets every Sunday, they are a family that does life together. I was looking for a community while in Boston, and at Kings Hill I found a family. Everyone in this church is on mission together in a city that is in dire need of the Gospel. We (my husband and I) moved to Boston from the bible belt and I wasn't sure how to navigate finding a home church in such a huge city. Through a crazy turn of events, we found our home at King's Hill. There were two things that were necessary: that it's gospel grounded with an outward focus. Meaning a church that, because of the power of the gospel in people's lives, loves those in it AND those outside it. Those were non negotiable. But we were also looking for: opportunities for involvement, a friendly atmosphere, and small enough to get to know the people there. Good, simple church. It's nothing too fancy or flashy, but it's a group of people who want to learn more about God and each other and to serve the community. I have been really excited to be part of their community outreach events and whole group is really welcoming and happy to serve. On Sundays, they play music, listen to preaching, pray together, and read the bible. The music is about Jesus. The preaching is relevant to life and the whole church takes God's word really seriously. Overall, it is a very strong, welcoming community who clearly loves Jesus and wants to learn more about who he is and how to serve him. I am thankful to be part of it. read more

The strength of this church comes from its dedication to teaching God's word straight from the Bible and providing a community where you can dive deeper with any questions you have. King's Hill doesn't water down the truth of the Bible, but is equally dedicated to sharing God's love to everyone who walks in the door. I've personally felt included and cared for by the other members of the church, which then led me to engage with the Gospel message in such a way that I was changed by it. After moving to Boston back in June I looked for a church to attend that taught based on scripture. I found this and so much more at King's Hill. I visited several churches in the area, and the most appealing factor of King's Hill was the community that you get to be a part of when you attend there. Everyone is friendly, they give you many ways to get involved, and actively plan events to engage with the surrounding neighborhood. Biblical, clear, faithful teaching of the Word and the Gospel. Humble worship. Welcoming and intimate setting. Genuine community. This church takes being a Bible believing Christian seriously in every aspect of life. The sermons are grounded in the Word and not simply in the preachers opinions. There are many different ways for anybody to get involved and plugged into the community. For students looking for a place to call their home away from home, or for anyone who's looking to set roots down - this is the church you wanna be at.
