The location is great, it's about 8 min drive from the downtown. The room was clean and had good rates for the night. It has covered partaking spots next to the door of the rooms and it also has AC, fridge, tv and a walking closet. A few things that could be improved: WiFi connection was bad. We couldn't connect and use it reliably. The rooms are a little old and there is some street noise. The ac noise was too loud for me and i had to turn it off to sleep.

Check in time is 3PM and I did not make note of this since I arrived at 1130 for my check-in. Oops. They did their best to accommodate me and get me checked-in even though my room was not ready and was in the middle of being cleaned. I got check-in, got my key (Literally a key. They are still old school, which I kind of liked, but was also worried about in case I lost the key.), and headed to my room to quickly drop my suitcase off. Housekeeping was really good about moving around my stuff and locking the door on the way out to make sure my stuff was secure inside my room. The shower gets hot fast, the towels are clean (I know because I can smell the subtle smell of bleach), the room heater works fast, the bed sheets appear clean, the bathroom and room look clean, and the room has a flat screen TV with directTV. My bathroom and shower floor were tiled and I really liked that. The room walls have minor paint chipping, the room is a little dated, and the shower curtain is probably a few inches short (not enough to get the floor anything more than slightly sprinkled), but is that really something to complain about? It is silly to compare this place to the Ritz or the Hilton because this is NOT a resort. This place is a BUDGET hotel/motel. For the price you are paying, this is a really good deal. You also get a parking space that is assigned to your room. The hotel is located about 5 minutes (By car. I walked the first day in flip flops. It took me 40 minutes. It was a nice walk, but I got a blister. Up to you.) to downtown Santa Fe, where all the touristy things are. I would definitely stay here again.

The King's Rest Motor Court is just that- a motor court! King's Rest looks like it was built in the 30s, a U shaped courtyard surrounded by individual cabins connected by the garages between. The rooms are large, comfortable but basic. Very clean sanctify, if worn. The motel's location is perfect for a visit to Santa Fe. It sits on Cerrittos, which runs strait to the Plaza, about a mile away. Just a few blocks toward the Plaza, US Hwy84 splits off Cerrittos and takes you strait to the Santa Fe Opera. Couldn't be easier. And the best part is the price. All the hotels and motels just a few blocks closer to the Plaza start at $120 and up. The King' s Rest is $60! And you have garage parking at your room. What could be better?

This is a fairly nice place. I liked the covered parking they had for each room and the beds were pretty comfortable. The door to the bathroom was a bit hard to negotiate because when you open it the person in the shower is trapped there until you close it again. For the price I would stay here again.

So we picked this place because it is close to The Convention Center. It old and has no phone but in this day I guess that is fine. They were nice when we checked it nothing special about the service. We stayed in room 20. It was clean but didn't smell all that great but that may be my fault for choosing a smoking room. They could however air it out ever once in a while. It is so rare to find a hotel you can smoke in so we went with it. They do have free wifi and it worked ok... A little slow but fine. The location is great because you are really close to a lot of places to eat and down town is not very far at all and it a really low nightly rate. We sleep ok and it was quite :)

For the price, it's pretty awesome and deserves four stars. Cute adobe exterior and car ports attached to the rooms like many old school motels in the West. Major points for that. Our room had a king size bed which was extremely comfortable with fresh fluffy pillows and the Wi Fi was fantastic. As a huge bath fan, I was disappointed that our room just had a shower. I see another reviewer talks about remodeled bathrooms and posted a great photo of hers...but our room did NOT have that, everything in the bathroom seemed to be at least thirty or forty years old with very hideous (yet clean) tile and a pretty ratty shower and sink area. There was a weird yet kind of neat skylight type of feature above the bathroom as well. Inexplicably our room had a HUGE well lit walk in closet as well as a gigantic vanity and bureau which was very handy for getting ready and stowing luggage during our stay. I wasn't too crazy about walking on the floor because it was uneven and creaky with very thin carpeting and the door to our room had a sizable gap at the bottom which made me a little nervous. I probably sound far more neurotic than I actually felt during the stay. It was nothing a pair of flip flops couldn't fix and I did not observe any signs of bugs or other pests due to the door gap. Overall, it was a clean safe room and the price was under fifty bucks. I did not encounter any wacko guests like some have, we stayed on a weeknight when there were lots of nicer vehicles and construction trucks parked here and no one roaming around. I'd return when in Santa Fe, but maybe hope for a room with the nicer bathroom and tub. One more bonus was the close proximity to a few good restaurants. Mu Du Noodle(s?) is a trendy little spot that is right next door to the motel, and we had a fabulous breakfast at Pantry Restaurant just a few blocks down. There's also a Baskin Robbins a few blocks down and across the street.

When we drove in, the parking lot was just about full and the space that was available was too small for my truck. The security guard who I wish I could remember his name as he was such a gem, let me know that he will park my truck for me. He had a fabulous Texan accent and he was just the nicest man. He said go on inside and check in and when you come back out, I will park your truck for you. The woman who greeted me inside was so lovely. She said I am so glad you are here! You are our last guest to arrive and I will get you all checked in. It felt like we were in a different time almost, it was so cozy and quaint. Our hotel room itself was perfect. We had two beds and they were so comfortable and the linens were fabulous. The wall hangings and paintings were gorgeous. The bathroom was adorable and had pretty New Mexican tile. Even the carpets and rugs were beautiful. They do have a restaurant and room service. They have a complementary breakfast cooked to order which is something I have never seen before. Unfortunately we were so tired the next day we missed the breakfast, but we will definitely book another stay in this hotel. The reception area is beautiful and has lovely couches and sitting areas. The paperwork in the rooms is extremely thorough and will tell you everything you need to know, from room service to if you have difficulty parking your car to nearby restaurants and sightseeing. I did not read all of the paperwork when I first got to the hotel and in the morning I called for coffee to be delivered to my room. I later saw that coffee is actually set out for guests in the reception area so the woman who brought me the coffee really only did it out of kindness. I definitely felt like this hotel gives five star service.

And they didn't hv any 2 bed rooms available. So I found this place And in that week between Christmas and New Year's we still wanted to catch the Christmas lights and farolitos And if you too are about location, location, location This was perfect If you've ever had to drive to Santa Fe, you know that parking can be a bear -- and it was, with a lot of the main streets blocked off in anticipation of NYE celebrations. The hotel is actually quite a large, sprawling complex, much deeper that what might be assumed when pulling in. We got there mid-afternoon so could park rt in front of our first floor room. I hadn't even thought about that but my creaky knees were happy and quite relieved to only hv to haul my wee bag up 7 steps or so. Check in was easy, if a bit crowded, as a lot of regulars like to show up a bit early too. The doorman was a very polite young man and everyone made us feel welcome. The older gentleman at the counter was a font of information And made sure we knew abt the Happy Hour Short and sweet Whatever you do: try the biscochitos! (The official NM state cookie, fyi - for a reason - when done right, and these definitely are!) Everything was very clean Even with all the Christmas decorations and greenery out There's an excellent restaurant on site And when they say there's "a bit of a kick", and shd you be a wuss like me, order the spicy on the side. Staff was very considerate abt this. And breakfast is pretty good too! And it was so easy to walk to everything, stuff I usually don't get to see bc I'm usually on the other side of town. All in all, a lovely stay

Drury Plaza is a steal for a stay. The food was typical hotel food but reasonably priced. You also get free drinks and food at happy hour time. A very good free breakfast with great coffee to start your day. Once again the staff shines here. Food, coffee, and drinks all on point. The ambience was great hotel. I can't say enough the value you get for your money. This was my first experience at Drury motel. This hotel should be the flagship. They are doing it right!!! From staff to hotel experience 10'stars. I will from now on look to try Drury hotels anywhere I go just from staying here. I have traveled for the last four years for club volleyball and stayed at a a lot of hotels and motels. This one is at the top for me. High ends may have slightly better food which you are going to pay for. But for your money Drury is king. Keep it up if come through Santa Fe again this is where I am staying.

The valets offered a warm welcome that set the tone for our entire stay and the front desk check in was friendly and efficient. In fact, every single staff member we came into contact with was an absolute delight. From the manager who we encountered each afternoon and always took the time to engage with us, to the awesome lady with the funky makeup who served the complimentary afternoon drinks. Everyone we came into contact with was lovely, even the lady bussing tables was a delight. Our room on the 2nd floor was ok, it was very long and narrow and despite having plenty of sq ft, the layout made it feel small. The bathroom was decent and the linens, towels and amenities were a good quality. Each day at 5.30pm the hotel offers complimentary drinks and snacks. We checked it out once; the cocktails, although served with a big smile, were cheap and sugary (as expected). The food (pasta and baked potatoes with fixings, hot dogs and popcorn), wasn't to our taste but many of the guests with children appeared to be making a full dinner out of them, so that is definitely a great feature for families on a budget. The location is really good, no more than a 7 min stroll from everything in the historic center of Santa Fe. I would recommend this hotel for family road trips and business travelers on a tight budget. The staff make this hotel a place you should consider if you're ever coming to Santa Fe.

But where? Reviewers touted the Inn Of The Turquoise Bear.....and they were right. Pros: - Location: Central. Just south of the downtown area and a 15 minute walk to Canyon Road. - Exterior: A sprawling property in a residential neighborhood. Several smaller buildings seem to have been added over the (many) years to the main building seen on most photos of the property. - Interior: Like going back 100 years. Things were fixed, of course...especially in public spaces...but you might feel as if you're in a living museum. - Our Room (Witter Byner): Large and rambling. More than enough room for 2 people plus a balcony overlooking the front of the property. Very comfortable. I could live there for a month if we didn't mind going up and down 15 stairs to the main floor. One interesting aspect: The bathroom. It was very nice and fully equipped, but separate from our room and down 5 stairs. That wasn't a problem during the day, but a few nights were an adventure - Breakfast: Unreal. Everything was homemade with great taste. The buffet portion had sliced fruit, granola, juices, pastries and yogurt. The hosts and kitchen staff had 3-5 entrees available each day. I rarely tried those since I filled up on the buffet, but my wife ate one every day and only had good things to say. Service at the community table was gracious and unhurried with lots of interesting conversation. - Amenities: A 1-2 hour Happy Hour every day starting at 430 or 5 PM. Fresh cookies, fruit, tea and jug water were available all day (coffee from 630-10 AM). Umbrellas. Plenty of smiles. - Hosts: Everyone was very friendly, helpful, informative and even charming. Special thanks to Aileen (sp?). - Housekeeping: Effective, efficient and unobtrusive. - Parking: Sufficient. The large courtyard in front of the of the property provided enough room for cars in the 11 room B&B. - Price and Value: Reasonable. It's not cheap, but as in most cases you get what you pay for. We'd heartily recommend the Inn Of The Turquoise Bear, but make reservations well in advance.

The door frame lets light in, the floors creaked like a haunted house, and the entire layout felt like it was designed by someone who's never actually had to sleep there. There were no privacy blinds, only wooden shutters, and the artwork provided enough clutter to fill the room just in case you forgot your own luggage. Breakfast was the big show! Most of what we were served was delicious. For an extra $45 per person, you'll be given whatever the kitchen feels like making that morning... no choices, no allergy considerations, and not even a glass of water. During our most recent stay, our vehicle was one of at least three that were broken into with many very large/heavy items stolen overnight while parked in the hotel's paid parking lot. The lack of security measures, whether cameras, patrols, or staff presence, was disappointing and left us feeling unsupported after the incident. What was even more frustrating was management's response. When the answer to multiple vehicle break-ins is as we were told by the GM - there's nothing we can do and that cameras don't deter theft or help identify thieves - it's time for us to stay somewhere else. We understand that crime can happen anywhere, but guests paying for parking should reasonably expect the property to take security seriously and make an effort to protect them. What makes this especially difficult is that we've always loved this property. The hotel has a historic charm, a great location that makes it easy to explore Santa Fe on foot, and while the rooms aren't luxury accommodations, they always felt comfortable and familiar - like a home away from home. Through the years, the staff has consistently been friendly and welcoming. That's what makes this review so disappointing to write. What was once a 5-star experience for our family has dropped to about a 3-star experience because we no longer feel confident that our vehicle and belongings are safe while staying here.
