The sauna never seems to get hot enough, and I've always wondered why a hot tub has never been added, it would be a great improvement. We also found that basic supplies like toilet paper were very limited. This property has so much potential, and with some updates to the units and amenities, it could easily be a five-star experience. My entire family feels the same way. We had a fabulous view of the lake from the upper level balcony and enjoyed our meals looking at the gorgeous views. The rental units have beach access and despite being crowded for the 4th of July weekend, there seemed to be ample space for everyone. With beach access we hardly left the condo area! The condo itself was a good size for our crew (2 bedrooms, 2.5 baths, three beds for three adults). The decor is a bit out-dated and the kitchen looks like it hasnt been significantly remodeled since the '70s, but it had everything we needed and I'm not picky when I've got these great lake views. :) The owner keeps the place well-stocked with more amenities than other rental properties I have stayed in up here. Unfortunately, the furniture was not comfortable--the beds were way too hard for my taste and even the couch was rigid. I had back aches the first few nights from the bed so I slept on the couch for the remaining nights. Ultimately, despite the hard furniture, this place was GREAT and I would happily stay here again.

I signed the agreement, noticed that the number of people was 1 with dogs but did not see a spot to change the number of people, so I signed and communicated via email with Waters on the number of people and dogs. Waters responded that there was a 2 dog limit and they were canceling the reservation. I tried calling and emailing to discuss since I was more than willing to adhere to the dog limit. After repeated attempts via email and phone, I was unable to have a reasonable conversation with anyone from Waters. Now it's less than 2 weeks from my trip date and I have to try and find another accommodation that meets our needs.

They had a wide selection of dog-friendly cabins, and the area where we ended up at - Carnelian Bay - turned out to be a very dog-friendly area indeed. Pups freely roam the neighborhood where our cabin was situated, and there was many a healthy dog poop lining the snowy trails. Booking over the Internet is quick and efficient. We received a prompt reply and follow-up call after our first email, and were quickly able to arrange to send in our deposit and book our cabin. Take careful note of the amenities listed for the various properties - the lists for each are long and varied, and it's easy to make assumptions about say - high speed internet being available when it's not ubiquitous for all the cabins listed. We received explicit instructions once we sent in our deposit, and I have to strongly recommend that you follow the directions provided rather than relying on Google Maps. The cabin we stayed in - Cedar Lodge - was simply gorgeous, immaculate, and spacious, with an amazing modern kitchen (stainless-steel appliances and large kitchen island - perfect for a group with folks who love to cook and eat. Other places may advertise that a certain property may sleep -- say 10, but 2 may actually end up having to sleep on the couch. This place advertised for 10, and provided a bed for each of 10 folks (a mix of singles and couples) very nicely. The huge couch, too, was a sleeper sofa, so in reality we could have housed 12 quite comfortably. The lease, however, only limited our numbers to the max advertised, on the danger of losing our deposit. We arrived to a nice welcome of complimentary pinot and doggie cookies. All in all, we'd definitely rent from this company - with their lovely dog-friendly properties - again and again.

We booked this place just one-two days before Thanksgiving. Rachel (I don't know who she is in Tahoya Shores) didn't send us the instructions for accessing the place unlike our previous host in Shasta who clearly told us how. When I asked Rachel about how to get in, she evaded me. Since we would have been arriving on the day of Thanksgiving and I didn't want to be in a situation where Rachel would forget to send us the instructions ('cause she could be busy with Thanksgiving festivities), I asked her politely for the instructions again. To our surprise she didn't answer the question again. I got worried. I guess I should have explained why. Finally just a couple of hours before our arrival, while we were on the road, she sent us the instructions to our relief. On the night of the stay, we found what looked like a bed bug on the comforter! It was a cold night but we make did with other bed sheets in the place. The next day we sent Rachel a picture of what we thought was a bed bug. She said it wasn't a bed bug (why would she accept!) and asked for more pictures. I told her that she can examine it at her leisure after we vacate the place. We checked-in and vacated Tahoya Shores at the stipulated times. I wouldn't stay at this place again!

My rental is my only source of income so when the cleaners were late or things were broken and not fixed because I was not notified, guests would not have the best experience. I even caught one group of Mexican cleaners putting sheets just in dryer and not even washing them! That's when I started doing all the laundry myself! Unfortunately, some circumstances in my life caused me to not be able to actively manage the rental as I use to. I was in dire need of people who could do more, get the job done, and communicate with me and let me know they hear me when I communicate with them. Finding Vacation rental assistance was a complete miracle for me. Not only are they on top of the cleaning, (and all linens are provided by them and taken off sight for professional laundering) but many smaller maintenance issues as well and making sure the hot tub is cleaned and serviced between every set of guests. Their pricing is extremely fair, and I believe they earn it by keeping me informed of anything needed so I'm consistently receiving 5 star reviews from my guests. Which results in more bookings! I get pictures of any issues noticed after a guest leaves, which takes away a lot of stress! When they heard my beloved dog died, I even received flowers and a card. That's special. The professionalism via pre and post inspection reports, and ability to have a 24 hour on call handy man if you choose really makes owning a vacation rental much less stressful. Thanks to VRA I'm able to focus on my own healing and do more of giving back to my community. They are the most thorough, polite, professional, fair, people I've met in this industry, and I'm really so grateful for their whole team from the top down.
