I contracted Kingsford to replace the windows in my house. The project was broken into 2 phases. The first phase went wonderfully - the team seemed to do a great job and the new windows worked for my needs. The second phase was full of problems. The wrong materials were delivered, the window flashing is horrible, the wrong color caulk was used. The team had to come back a second time because we found nails and trash left behind, as well as we noticed nails in windows still and windows that were installed in a very haphazard manner (Sloppy caulk work, nothing clean). All of this was corrected and I thought to myself "we can move past this - we have no windows and can make it work". Then about the weather rolled in and suddenly I have a water damage in my kitchen. I never even assumed it could be the windows (There is one window in the room above the kitchen, but it never came into my mind that the window could be the issue because it was new). I brought my normal home contractor out and they looked at it. Turns out the window wasn't sealed. Zero caulk along the bottom of the window. To make this entire scenario worse, as I found myself loosing faith in Kingsford - I asked my contractor to check the windows to see how Kingsford did on the rest of the windows. He found that the window drip plates were not replaced, and were rotten in a few places (Kingsford never even mentioned that to me). And that a few other windows had some issues. I had my contractor that I trust correct the issues since I didn't want to be exposed to the weather. I then called Kingsford and asked to speak to the owner. The owner is a soft spoken and reasonable person, however he had absolutely zero value to add to my plight. He said "You should have stopped work repairing the damage and called Kingsford - we would have come and examined things". My reply stating that I had lost faith in that company as well as the fact that I didn't want to leave my house exposed to elements seemed to fall on deaf ears". He then made me a bit more angry by saying "Out of his good will, he would send someone out to look at the windows". He completely missed the point that 1) It is not good will, it is however, the warranty of the windows - and is part of his job and 2) I've lost complete faith in Kingsford to actually do there job correctly. We've had them out 3x to look at things that were not done correctly. Bottom line - I will never use this company again - and bluntly - I'd advise you to stay away from them. They sub-contract out all of there installs - so there is zero quality assurance and nobody checks anything. If you have any issue and need to repair it - they are slow to respond and if you correct it on your own - to protect your house and investment, they will pawn you off and say that you should have called them first. I will never use this company again and recommend that you all stay far away from them. read more

I reached out to Kingsford to get an estimate on replacing the siding around my chimney and replacing the lattice work around my deck. They came out, took a few pictures and measurements, and then came back with a $7K price tag. They wouldn't break out the cost of each project because the "boss" would only do the job if they did both projects. I had already received another estimate and two quotes, all of which were between $2K and $3K. Completely fine if the project was too small for Kingsford, but they could just say that instead of deliberately inflating the price and then responding with that silly answer. We have had Kingsford do several different projects on our house over the past 15 years. All have been well done and within our budget. They have installed new windows, siding, gutters and a roof during that time and each time it has been a pleasure to work with them. We just had additional windows installed and they were able to match the new windows to the old ones so well that it is difficult to tell the difference. Very pricey! But they offer lifetime warranty for their work. Warranty work is prompt. Don't use if you don't intend to stay at your home longer than the product's warranty so find out what products their using and do your own research. Seamless gutters needed to be redone twice. read more

Kingsford put vinyl windows all around my house about 2008---10 years ago. That was the BEST investment of money I've made in this house yet. The quality of the windows and the work was outstanding and the price was reasonable at the time. I do not know what it would cost to do the same work today, or the quality. There is a lifetime warranty on the windows/work and a good product. read more

Tripp Herndon came out to our property on Saturday, June 23rd to look at some storm damage for a recent hail storm. He then promised an estimate on Monday, June 25th that we could send our insurance adjuster. By Wednesday we had not heard anything so I followed up with an email to see when he'll be able to get an estimate to us. He said he had been busy all week but would get it to us. Thursday he sends me an email saying that they could not take on anymore "storm damage" work right now but maybe in the Fall. Poor customer service and a 100% waste of my time. Do not use this company if they treat you like this in the beginning can you imagine through out the process how bad they will be. read more

Stay away!! We got estimates from 3 companies for replacement windows for our entire house. Kingsford was a little higher, but we thought we were getting the best product/service for our money-WRONG! The salesman was helpful, but the problems started as soon as he left. I realized he miscounted the number of grids for the windows in his estimate. He was supposed to fix it that same day. It never got fixed, I noticed it on my final bill and had to call back. After they fixed that on the bill, I looked more carefully and realized they overcharged me on something else as well and had to call for another correction. But, I'm getting ahead of myself here, let's get to the heart of the matter. Kingsford's customer service sucks! Their installers were lazy, cut corners, didn't meet promises, and the foreman couldn't care less! I finally called to speak to a manager, actually spoke to the owner and found out HE was just as bad as the rest of his crew! They told me install would take 1 day. It ended up taking over a month for them to finish (and the job still wasn't up to par!). They were late for appointments, measuring appts, installs, then didn't call or come back at all on some of the days they were supposed to! They came by one day after we told them not to since we would be out of town and left our gate unlocked. We had to call and ask them to come back to caulk since it wasn't done. Then they said they'd rehang our blinds. They used ONE screw in all the brackets to hang up heavy wooden blinds! I found the remaining screws in the trash! One window had to be reordered since it was wrong, and we were still waiting on it as well as other follow up issues and they had the nerve to call and tell me to pay my bill! I'm sorry, but why would I pay for a job you still haven't done?! They left a mess, scrap pieces and insulation in the yard, cigarette packs, wrappers, etc. and left materials here. When we finally called them about the materials, we found out the job wasn't finished, but I don't think kingsford even realized they until they found the materials piled on the side of my house! They trampled my flowers and completed destroyed a shrub. I addressed all these to the owner and got absolutely no apology/feedback/solutions, which can only lead me to believe he doesn't care. I spent over $10,000, I deserved better. Find another company, I sure wish I had. read more

The salesman lied to us when he came out to our house about the type of product it was, and then when we realized that on installation day, they refused to do anything about it. The owner pointed out that it was only verbal information from the salesman, it was not on the contract. He didn't care that his representative lied about his product. Wow. These two reviews almost makes it sound like a different company. I had gotten numerous window replacement quotes. Kingsford was not the lowest but the brand of window (Softlite) is one of the highest quality window. The price I was given was about the average for the amount and type of windows I have (of that brand). Took about three weeks to get the windows and a few days after for the install to be scheduled. I was not happy when only one installer showed up, but he was meticulous and cleaned up after himself. Install took longer then I wanted (1 and a half days vs one only) but it was a good job. The windows are fantastic and I have no issues after the install. I had a much different experience that the other two reviewers. Not a perfect experience, but one I have little to complain about. read more

We have used Kingsford twice before and there is a reason that this is the 3rd time I have used them for my home improvement projects. The company is wonderful to work with, the representative is very helpful, the staff in the office is excellent and the installers are respectful of you and your home at all times and they clean up so that all you are left with is your beautiful new addition. We had a new front door installed this time, they were not only concerned with how the door fit and functioned but made sure that it would look wonderful in our doorway. Don't walk away from Kingsford run as fast as you can. They came in April to give an estimate for a simple front door awning. Three months later they came to drill holes in bricks and aluminum facia and install hardware. When they came to install, it was not the awning we ordered. They said they must have picked up the wrong one. They came back with another one and it also was not the right size nor the one we ordered. We called to speak to the owner and he wasn't available. We didn't receive a call back so we called again. The owner wasn't available again but the person who answered the phone said that the owner advised that we needed a patio cover and he would do it for the same quoted awning price. The salesman returned and we chose a patio cover. Three weeks later we received a refund check with no explanation. We called and asked if they were going to at least put our shutter back on and remove the hardware they had installed. They came the next day to do that when we were not home. The holes they drilled in brick and aluminum facia remained. Sixteen years ago we had windows, vinyl soffets, an aluminum facia installed and spent $5,000. We thought we were a valued customer. The owner should be ashamed. He doesn't value his customers and should have at least talk to us. I would rate their business no stars but I had to put one for a review. We had another company come out and do the work and the awning looks great much better than the one they were going to do for us read more
