Gained self love and dressing more confidently in my body then before.

I've never felt so encouraged to get better, be better, and be loved exactly where I'm at. When I first spoke to Alina, I was in a really tough moment in my life--searching for a space that could hold movement, clarity, and safety. She spoke such uplifting things, but it wasn't until I stepped into Kinrgy that I truly realized what she meant. The energy was fun, loving, and free. It was the first time I felt like I could learn in an environment where there was nothing wrong with me. I discovered that I am smart enough to pick up steps, follow routines, and move in my own rhythm. After years of being criticized and bashed, my mental health had taken a hit. At Kinrgy, the simple act of being celebrated--high fives for exactly where you're at--was profoundly empowering. The moves I picked up were perfect, and the moves I was still working on? Also perfect. I want to thank Willis, Hayley, and Shay. The way they create and design the space, and the way everyone shows up with compassion and capacity in their hearts--it's beyond words. Kinrgy is not just movement. It's healing. It's community. It's freedom. Forever grateful.

This place has been the most magical collision of worlds + I love it with my WHOLE heart! As an environmental engineer and an enthusiast of dance cardio, it is so special to have a such an effervescent fitness community centered around the elements!! started at AKT West LA almost three years ago during their grand opening, and the transition to AKT WeHo and now KINRGY WeHo continues to make me smile in more ways than I knew were possible! Everyone here is beyond incredible! :')

I started going to AKT WEHO in December of 21, I signed up on a 3 month commitment plan. $99 the first month, followed by two months of $159 You get first month unlimited, followed by 8 classes a month - All seemed great and lovely, i used the app which is super easy to set up. I started going twice a week and honestly - it was great. The space is clean, the people are friendly. It was a great experience! However, when I had covid and wanted to cancel my membership as my schedule at work changed I was dealt with poorly to say the least. I reached out via email to notify them that i no longer wanted to continue - The manager Brian decided that he'd try to sway my mind. Which i explained that I did not want to do - Instead of cancelling - he charged me a further two months of $159 I went back and forth many times with him via email, however he was rude and ignored me many times - and to this day refuses to refund. I would highly recommend AKT but not the weho location mainly because (from my experience) the manager Brian is money hungry & rude -  if this didn't happen i would probably have come back in a few month once things settled down.

I'll be the first to admit i'm not a dancer, which is why I took the HTB (Hips Thighs and Buns)…read moreclass, instead of the Full Body class. I figured the Full Body class would mostly be dancing of some sort. This class was a combination of mat work and dance cardio (with lots of jumping, so high impact). It's one of those classes that you have to come often to figure out the routine. I was the only new comer in the class and it was pretty obvious, which was okay. I didn't find it awkward. Instructor and receptionist: I didn't catch the receptionists name when I entered, but he was really friendly and made me feel welcomed, which I appreciated a lot. I had Lauren as an instructor, she was very personable and friendly. She has a great attitude, did all the moves and was able to help correct my form. The only comment I would like to add was that the music was too loud at times to hear what she was saying (or maybe that's how the class is designed...?) The studio: It's a cute, clean studio with showers in the top level. I really appreciate them having showers, because it seems like it's very difficult to find a boutique studio that offers showers, even though you pay about $30 per class. I thought the shower situation was a little awkward. There are two showers in the same small room with a washer and dryer. After class, two of us showered, but I waited until the other person showered (I didn't feel comfortable showering next to someone else with no shower curtain, only clear doors). Parking: we all know that parking in WeHo is impossible and expensive, but they recommend a lot about a block away with parking being free the first hour. I ended up paying $3 though because it took me about an hour and twenty minutes. Overall, if you like high impact work like jumping and dancing I think you would enjoy this place.

But the staff couldn't be more warm, supportive and positive. I think this studio may only allow a few slots for ClassPass members, because it's always full right as the window opens for booking for ClassPass members. It's worth the effort to plan ahead. I did a Trampoline Cardio class and it was so much fun. Amazing workout, really fun and a great sweat.

His method of movement and instruction is high energy, intense postures with fluidity, and a bit of cardio to get the heart moving. I loved that he made us take water breaks, but not enough to bring the heart rate down. His dance breaks kept the energy up when I thought I might give up. It is a class to attend and he is amazing. My second class was on Monday. The structure and outline of the Ali's 5:15 pm Mat Pilates class was great. It's my first time for any Pilates class and I think this was closer to the traditional with a little yoga and cardio. It was intense and strong. The only thing I would have liked would have been alternative moves for newbies in class for some of the more intense plank work with lots of movement. I just did downward dog with a little walk or knee movement or stayed in plank, if possible. But I wasn't sure if that was correct to do in the alternative or if there was another move I could have done. A verbal confirmation or suggestion would have been great. She definitely knows the body and how to push it to the max level of tuning. I will take her class again, but I feel like I have to research some of the yoga/pilates terms to know what position she is talking about. She's an excellent teacher for higher levels. I'll get there one day. They are very different in their instruction, but both highly effective. Thank you both for the challenge.

Unfortunately, my experience with the front desk and membership process was consistently frustrating. On my last five visits, my check-in was blocked because the system claimed I had unsigned documents. I signed the required paperwork multiple times, yet the issue was never resolved. Instead of feeling welcomed, I felt like I had to explain the same problem every time I came in to work out. When I finally decided to cancel my membership, I was directed to an online cancellation process and informed that a 30-day notice applied, resulting in additional charges before the cancellation became effective. I don't mind paying for a quality gym. What I do mind is paying for an experience where recurring administrative problems are never fixed. The workouts were good; the customer service wasn't. I hope management invests as much effort into member experience as they do into the equipment.

Parking is easy with validation (1 hr 15 mins) in the structure... just don't go over or you'll lose it. Street parking works too if you're early. When you arrive, you will need to check-in. There's always been different receptionists each time and they have been kind. There are small lockers at check-in, and large mirrors, showers, hair ties, lotion, shaving cream, q-tips, and a hair dryer in the restroom. Our instructor, Omar, is very personable and makes newcomers feel welcome. He announced he now only teaches BoxUnion Burn (1 Hr) at 10:45 AM on Saturdays. I was nervous at first, especially seeing the dark room, LED lights, and loud music. I get overstimulated easily, but they offer ear plugs and I liked how spacious it was. You'll need to rent gloves and wraps ($10-15 each) unless you bring your own. After my first class, I invested in them and a ClassPass membership (they have their own too) since I only come once a week and don't live nearby. The class includes punching combos, HIIT, ab work, and freestyle. Omar took the time to correct my form. Highly recommend stretching beforehand. Haven't tried other instructors, but if you prefer focusing on form, ask if any trainers offer personal sessions. I highly recommend this class if traditional gyms aren't your thing or you just want to hit something for funzies :b! Romi is such a great instructor: her transitions are smooth and she gives a lot of instruction about where you should be feeling the workout and the placement of your feet. I took ballet burn with Stephanie Hall and unfortunately it wasn't as great of a first experience I'd hoped for. There wasn't a lot of room in the class so it would have been great if Stephanie moved off to the side and let the students watch their form in the mirror. I think it also would have been great if she provided more descriptive detail - "jump here" doesn't tell me what foot goes in front of which foot or where I should feel it. Or if we're doing Abbs and I cannot see you please let me know if my head is up or down and don't roll your eyes when I ask. Hahahaha Once we got to the trampoline - I finally broke a sweat. Lord have mercy! Hahah I killed it on the trampoline but that probably had more to do with my familiarity with holding a squat. Some other poor ladies were having a bit of a hard time and Stephanie wasn't tending to anyone or giving assistance. I'm sure there has to be better instructors. I'm going to take a gf with me next time and give it another chance. If you are familiar with ballet and the steps - you'd be fine in Stephanie's class, but wear shoes that have a grip! Be careful!" when some of the untrained, highly confused girls are practically flinging themselves off into the stratosphere. Seriously though, I'll break it down: I signed up through Classpass and honestly was just like sure whatever it's a ballet inspired cardio class. Got to the studio, it's...not really that nice. Not dirty or anything, but just nothing to write home about. They have tea and water and some black apparel and random pointe shoes everywhere (god knows why). The front desk girl showed me around the studio after apologizing for assuming I wasn't using my real name(???) and there's no door to the actual studio so you just kind of mosey back. Class was pretty full and the dancer that was teaching (super fit, definitely a trained dancer, NOT. AN. INSTRUCTOR) didn't introduce herself or ask anyone's names. Jumped right into some pretty basic ballet routines if you have a background, but if you don't -- godspeed. At no point did she go around, provide corrections or modifications, which is why I say she was not an instructor. After a couple uninspired, repetitive floor routines to upbeat pop music, the trampolines came out. Trampolines. We were doing ballet choreography...to top 40 hits...on trampolines. The dancer that was teaching didn't have a trampoline though, so she just showed us the gist on the floor. I can't make this up. It was just...honestly....awful. Please go somewhere else and get real instruction by a trained professional to get after that body you want. If you want to try ballet, take a real ballet class. I promise it's not worth risking injury to come here. Goodbye, Classpass credits, I'm sorry you had to die in vain.
