Honest Review, Overall the classes are great,  most of the staff is lovely - however,  AKT biggest issue is their management. I started going to AKT WEHO in December of 21, I signed up on a 3 month commitment plan. $99 the first month, followed by two months of $159 You get first month unlimited, followed by 8 classes a month - All seemed great and lovely, i used the app which is super easy to set up. I started going twice a week and honestly - it was great. The space is clean, the people are friendly. It was a great experience! However, when I had covid and wanted to cancel my membership as my schedule at work changed I was dealt with poorly to say the least. I reached out via email to notify them that i no longer wanted to continue - The manager Brian decided that he'd try to sway my mind. Which i explained that I did not want to do - Instead of cancelling - he charged me a further two months of $159 I went back and forth many times with him via email, however he was rude and ignored me many times - and to this day refuses to refund. I would highly recommend AKT but not the weho location mainly because (from my experience) the manager Brian is money hungry & rude -  if this didn't happen i would probably have come back in a few month once things settled down. read more

Totally loved attending the classes at AKT West Hollywood. All of the instructors are really nice and do a great job at leading their classes. Unfortunately my schedule doesn't line up with what they currently have to offer members. I can't wait to jump back in to these workouts one day as they are super fun and you feel great afterwards. I definitely recommend trying them out - you will not regret the sweat! Bonus - you can sign up for a free class before becoming a member. Note - before you sign up to become a member (and you will because it's that great) go in with a list of all your questions and look at the schedule times for all classes to make sure their schedule fits your schedule, so you don't lose any classes. They don't roll over from month to month. And if you do foresee scheduling conflicts, you can always purchase 1 class at a time as time allows you to do so. All of the instructors are wonderful and the staff really creates a family environment, which makes everyone feel welcome! read more

I am a big fan of AKT West Hollywood. When I started last year, I was sure I would do a few classes and stop -- I tend not to stick to work out programs. AKT won me over. Not only am I going consistently, but I look forward to every session. There's something addictive (in the good way) about the AKT trainers, the work out, the music, the space, the way it feels to make progress and to move my body in a way that is challenging but very well thought out. Nothing is random. There's a structure to the work out and to how it is working different parts of your body. I can also make modifications (using the barre instead of the floor for example) because of certain physical limitations I may have. The AKT trainers are knowledgeable and care. I love coming to AKT because the staff & instructors here make working out fun! ....Which is something I appreciate because working out can be frustrating and tedious to me but not when I'm at AKT. Haley, Willis, & Rehima are my favorite instructors because they're motivating, have positive attitudes, & their workouts push me but don't make me feel stressed or exhausted afterwards! I also appreciate the fact that they do stretches/cool down techniques that are very helpful for recovery! I randomly found AKT on a google search and I'm forever grateful I found them! The incredible team that works here makes you feel so welcome no matter where you are in your fitness journey! The GM Rich is so awesome always remembers little details about you and the trainers... OMG so incredible I can't say enough about my girls Alyssa, Jenn, Mariela, Rehima, Tucker, and Annie. The community here is also unmatched we have planned outings and support each other in our personal and fitness journeys. I've been here since the studio opened and make the drive from Sherman Oaks that's how incredible this place is. Such a fun great workout studio for any fitness levels

This place is AWFUl. The instructor was not watching or helping many of the beginners. No supervision of form or modifications were given. The music doesn't go with the work out. It's outdated and so loud you can't hear the instructor even if she is communicating. There was no demonstration. She was there for her workout not yours. The class is repetitive and boring. Every class is basically the same moves. Also, they did the hard sell and immediately put you on auto renew with a 30 day cancel policy which took 4 different people to get cancelled. This is a chain and anyone can buy one with zero knowledge of fitness. The room is small and dark with no ventilation. 3 black walls and a wall if mirrors. Go anywhere else. This place is dangerous at best. read more

The classes are fine. All the instructors I've had were fun , but the studio is echo-y making it hard to hear. My rating is for the shady membership packages. After going to 1 free class I was asked twice to sign up for "discounted" membership. Mind you this was before they had released their schedule online. I decided to risk it for 1 month whith the assurance that if the schedule didn't work out the first month I could cancel. Well! You can't. I was enrolled over the phone so maybe in person you get some paperwork but you need to provide 30 DAYS NOTICE to cancel. Meaning you cannot sign up for 1 month but 2 minimum. Imagine my surprise when after the first month I realized that the evening class times don't work well with my 9-6 schedule. I had only used 3 classes that month but I was locked in for another month. And now we are at the end of the 2nd month I was only able to use 3 classes again. That avgs out to a price of 29.33 per class. Save yourself and just pay for the $30 drop in price if you're curious. read more

I was lucky enough to be one of the first members that joined AKT back in May of 2021 - I've never really 'invested' in my health before by going to a gym/workout studio. I'm so glad I did. I felt so welcomed in the beginning, and nearly 1.5 years later I've made some really great friends. You can easily find a trainer that matches the energy you're looking for - and I love them ALL for different reasons. Jen and Tucker are great at breaking down new content and encourage you throughout the class, Rehima and Camila always make sure everyone is focusing on technique (I always learn something new), Willis and Haley bring in that needed ENERGY that makes me smile and laugh all throughout class. But MARIELA will always have my heart - she pushes me to be the best I can be and she's really seen the growth I've had over this past 1.5 years. LOVE MY AKT FAM read more

I had a very bad experience from another place whom took no interest in me as I was paying them on a one on one training, customer service was bad and very flaky walking by AKT which I had seen many times but couldn't figure out what it was opened their doors to me today and were super nice and motivating so nice that I decided to start a free class hours later with Tucker, Lauren was quick to help with my questions and concern and soon booked me a try out, came back and just loved it, Tucker is a very sweet young lady and very good as well as motivating along with other ladies in the class she was just great. Very expensive workout studio, and you only get classes at ONE studio. So $175 a month for a limited number of classes available per day.... this isn't a great place for people with busy 9-5 jobs or those who travel. Also, if you forget to cancel a class with a (I believe) 6 hour notice, you get charged like $25. It's actually insane... because you're already paying so much money for just a few classes available per day. If I could go back in time to tell my old self to not fall for his scam, I would. Lastly, they gave me 10 free classes after I had to cancel my membership because I work in healthcare and literally could not make it to any classes.... then all 10 classes mysteriously disappeared from my account. I wish they could pay me back my last month's membership fee, because I literally could not make it to their classes because of their limited available schedule. Very nice staff, nice facility, great instructors, fun dances... but truly a waste of money. I would even argue paying more for a gym like equinox is more valueable because you at least get an entire gym, locker room, amenities AND classes. The AKT workout is fun, but isn't any "better" than your typical dance or HIIT workout at a regular full-service gym. Save your money and go literally anywhere else. read more

So glad I found this place! The classes are challenging but in the best way possible, the teachers are super sweet/encouraging and will modify moves so you still get a full workout even if you have an injury, the other people in class are also super friendly, and the studio is super cute with fun music! AND my fitbit says I'm burning 500 cals per class! All around good vibes! read more

I found AKT on a whim driving down Santa Monica Blvd one day and I couldn't be happier, I absolutely love going to AKT! I've never been one to enjoy group classes, but I must have been going to the wrong places! AKT has an amazing and supportive community in its staff, trainers and fellow members. I actually look forward to going to classes, which is definitely a new thing for me. The content of their core classes changes every 3 weeks so things don't ever get boring. I had been waiting for AKT to come to Los Angeles since discovering it in New York 6 years ago and this studio does not disappoint. The workouts are challenging, giving you cardio, resistance, endurance, strength and intervals in every class. But more than that, they're FUN. There are 4 types of classes so there's something for everyone- no following choreography necessary. The content changes every 3 weeks so you have time to improve and level up but never enough time to get used to it or bored. Every day a new body part is challenged...and potentially sore. This community is like no other. And that's across the board for AKT. This brand is inclusive, encouraging, inspiring and supportive. You can go anywhere in the country and you'll be doing the same workout as your home studio- there's something pretty cool (and comforting) about that. Classes are dimly lit and everyone is encouraged to go at their own level but push from there. Each trainer puts their own personality and spin on content so it's never the same class. Every trainer is passionate, knowledgeable, enthusiastic, and strong. It's what we call being BadAss here. Every trainer wants YOU to get the most out of your time in the studio. They will suggest modifications, they will make hands on adjustments and they will have the best energy while doing so. In short, everyone here, members and professionals, are dedicated to lifting each other up, pushing harder than you did last time and having the best time while at it. AKT makes me look forward to working out and isn't that the most important part? Nothing prepares you for AKT but AKT prepares you for everything. This is literally my home away from home, for which I am incredibly grateful. (Side note: before the studio opened during the pandemic I used the AKT On Demand platform... I never thought I could enjoy working out at home or stick to it. But the amount of content there is unparalleled and it's a great at-home or travel option. This gym, this workout, these trainers, and this phenomenal community of women have absolutely transformed my body and my life. Regarding the workout, it targets the most challenging areas of my body that I have struggled with throughout my entire life. Muffin top/inner thigh/outer thigh (saddle bag) issues are now virtually GONE, and my booty has never been more lifted. The workout is perfectly hard... the kind of hard where you feel like you pushed yourself and are full of endorphins but can still move and come back day after day without any debilitating downtime or risk of injury. The trainers are INCREDIBLE and deeply care about the success of their students, as well as celebrate our milestones with so much joy and fanfare that you can't help but be proud of what you've accomplished! I have never before had such a welcome, inspiring community of women and so much support around my physical health. My classmates have become close friends, and coming to class no longer feels like work - it feels like a social outing, which is something I NEVER thought I would say. I'm not sure where I would be without AKT West Hollywood. I am endlessly fortunate to support this local business, owned by a fantastic couple who truly cares about their clients' wellbeing and happiness.
