A friend recommended Kiowa Creek for my bachelorette party and I am so glad he did. This place was amazing from start to finish. The Real MVP of the day was Lindsey. She went above and beyond to make our day unforgettable. She was friendly, knowledgeable, patient and brought such awesome vibes to our experience. She somehow managed to wrangle a group of loud, competitive NYC women and turned us into (semi) pros by the end of the day. This was easily a highlight of my bachelorette weekend. I recently did a guided pheasant here and was very impressed. My guide Chris and our hunting dog companion, Scout made sure I had an amazing day. I went 5 for 5 on pheasant! I was so excited with this place I became a member and then came back two weeks in a row to shoot sporting clays. The set up here is fantastic. They have dog training fields and instructors, Sporting Clays, Shooting instructors, 5 Stand and the list keeps going. To top it off they have fantastic customer service! read more

I've come here a few times and each visit was equally as great. The staff is kind, helpful and provides directions/guidelines that are required/expected to keep everyone safe. They do have rentals if needed (shotguns, bows, golf carts, etc)-- pricing is on the higher end. The course is expansive but, does get very busy-- be prepared to wait on certain stations (sometimes skipping and coming back to those more popular stations is a nice way to keep the flow). Most people are pretty respectful in being aware of others on the course and time spent at the stations. Fun experience, much recommended. read more

Kiowa Creek Sporting Club never fails to be an amazing time whether you plan to shatter some clays or experience a guided hunt. Every guided hunt that I have been on at Kiowa Creek has exceeded expectations. Not only do we have a great time snagging some birds, but the bird dogs provided are amazing and Dennis the guide is PHENOMENAL. We request Dennis every time we do a guided hunt. Not only is Dennis extremely knowledgeable, but he is a great guide for both beginners and experts and is always willing to provide help when needed. His personality makes the hunt extremely educational, personal, and he is funny as hell. Dennis makes Kiowa Creek better than it already is and I hope they know how much of an asset he is to their team. I wouldn't do a hunt at Kiowa Creek without Dennis as my guide. I was hoping for a great hunt but got shafted instead. They divide individual fields into multiple units and don't allow any chasing of the birds you just purchased into the next corn strip. Fun idea for a facility, improperly executed and with unreasonable hunting practices. I will not be going again, ever. For the sporting clay side of things, simply awesome. Great layouts, 20+ stations with unique setups. You'll have a hoot there. Just don't recommend the bird hunting. read more

Awesome venue, went there for a charity shoot and amazed by the beauty of this location. Looks like they do weddings here and what a beautiful spot. We had golf carts to drive around to the locations and even got to shoot out of an old truck. Staff was friendly and had a nice waiting area. read more

yelpers probably aren't typically found practicing their weapons skills in the countryside, but just in case you are prone to delusions of an imminent government overthrow and need to make sure you can handle a musket when the blackshirts arrive on your porch, this may be the best place to keep your eye in. kiowa creek sporting club is an exceptional facility 45 minutes east of denver where you can brush up on all forms of hunting technique, particularly clay pigeon shooting. they have a very comprehensive set of 24 sporting clay stands that offer everything from simple rising pheasants, settling crows, springing teal and bolting quail to a ground-running mad march hare. all in defenseless clay and all ready to be smashed to bits by the accurate shotgun handler. the clubhouse is comfortable and serves good food; the staff are very friendly and helpful. if you don't already maintain a personal weaponry arsenal, all your equipment can be rented on the premises quickly and easily. it's about a buck a bang if you need 100 rounds, a 12-gauge and enough clays to have a lot of fun for two hours. safety off... I have had only wonderful experiences at Kiowa creek. The prices are very reasonable, and they have Beretta Over Unders to rent (they even have a womens size 20ga). Their sporting clay stations are some of the best I have ever shot at in my life. I would highly recommend this to anyone who enjoys shooting clays. read more

Great people at this club. Facility is terrific and the course is a lot of fun. Hard to reach and watch out for gps coordinates.

After hearing my sister and father rave about shooting clays out here, I finally made it out to join them. Man, was it a fun morning! First, the "clubhouse" is very clean, and the staff is super friendly. You can even get lunch here after a morning of shooting and head back out. They also sell additional shells if you need them and prices are reasonable (as are prices to shoot here. About $.45/clay, I think). Secondly, they have a couple dozen stations which encompass a variety of skill levels. There were quite a few people there, but because of the expansive grounds, there weren't back-ups at shooting stations or anything. They take gun safety seriously here, which is another plus. All in all, a great experience, and I'll certainly be back! read more

This review is based solely on the DOG TRAINING Kiowa Creek Sporting Club has to offer...specifically JOHN AUGUSTINE and Nickel Creek Gun Dogs (his personal business). We had a wonderful experience with the training of our dog with John! We have a Vizsla puppy (8 months when we sent him to John) who was your typical Vizsla, hyperactive, chewing, NOT listening, jumping on people, onto kitchen counters, and hard to train...if you have a Vizsla you know what I am talking about... We had "Murphy" with a trainer in town (after tons of research!) at about 5 months old...in 1 month of training, and a lot of $$$, he learned how to sit, roll over, and crawl...personally, sit was great, but I don't care about rolling over and crawling...the trainer was fired! Randomly, I ran into a stranger who was walking a German Short Haired Pointer...we began talking about hunting dogs and he told me about John...his well behaved dog was personally trained by John. I do not hunt, and I've never hunted, but I wanted a dog with the obedience of a hunting dog and to be a fabulous family dog; we took our chances on John... Wow!!! We trusted John with our Vizsla for 1 month...Murphy came back a completely different dog than when he left...he became everything we wanted in a family dog and more! In 1 month of training our dog has a broad repertoire of commands. We feel good with him in any situation; he's a much better dog because of John. After a month, when I picked up Murphy from John, John spent a good hour with me In the end, I would love to send Murphy back to John to learn to hunt as Murphy has a GREAT interest in birds in the neighborhood, but because I don't hunt, I cant justify paying more money for something we wont use. However, the money we did pay, for what we requested of John, was worth every penny! If you have a hunting dog you want to hunt, or just become a great family dog, call John!! Great sporting clays course and club. Everyone is friendly and helpful and the club house is comfortable. Their machines can be set up for a solo shooter with a delay and pairs setting. They take time to show you how to run everything and it works great. They have a 20 station course with the first 10 stations being a bit easier and the last 10 more difficult and some of them are very challenging. No issues with any of the throwers- other than hitting the clays. This place is an annual visit for me as a warm up on my way to pheasant hunt in Kansas read more

Today saw my second outing to Kiowa Creek. Admittedly, I've only been to one other clay/trap/skeet range so my experience is limited. That said, I really dig this establishment. The folks on staff are courteous and the grounds are beautiful. The equipment is pretty darn good, too. Lest I forget, they are good cooks ta boot! I bought a membership today, to work my dogs. Bought birds and we headed for a training field. The field for dog training was barely usable. It was covered in long thorn cactus. I spent most of the time pulling needles out of my dogs. My dogs are well seasoned, nothing makes them stop hunting. This field was so bad, they stopped, and were in a lot of pain. I stopped my hunt, and helped the dogs. I went up to the main office to ask for a membership refund, and they still charged me for the field. Then they upcharged the birds to non member price. I will never return. Clearly the dont care about dogs or the people that love/train them. read more

Kiowa Creek Sporting Club is the second place I have been to for shooting clays and I loved it! Everyone there was super friendly (well some of the adorable dogs in the club were a little aloof, but so adorable!) and the course is beautiful and fun. We went a little after noon on a Sunday and we were maybe two out of a dozen people on the course (it was a bit hot). Wonderful time and my new go to place for sporting clays. read more

I am a very experienced hunter and sporting clays shooter. I have shot at MANY sporting clay's clubs across the US and this place is by far, the best place I've found. I joined as a member and shoot here almost every weekend. The staff (Angie) and others are incredibly friendly and helpful. The clubhouse is super clean, well decorated and very welcoming. The range itself is very well laid out and the equipment ALWAYS works flawlessly, which is rare at ANY club. They change the stations often enough to keep it fresh, fun and interesting. It is out in the boonies a bit, but WELL worth the drive. I HIGHLY recommend this place and will be a member for years to come. read more
