Mike came over and spent a lot of time with me and helped me fix the problem. He was knowledgeable, very careful and made sure to test an area in my pantry to make sure that the floor looked good. He found a solution that eliminated all of the scratches on our floor and provided a very reasonable price quote to do a screening and cover the floor with a new layer of sealer. Ron made a measuring error on the carpet order, but as soon as he caught it, he owned it and fixed it right away. The carpet installers were quick, efficient, and polite. The tile work turned out beautiful, genuinely great craftsmanship. What really stood out, though, was this: when we got the estimate for the carpet installed, we couldn't afford it. We told Ron we'd come back and pick something cheaper. He said, "No, don't bother, I'll talk to my supervisor and get you a discount so you can have the carpet you actually like." And he did. Mike did an incredible job completely overhauling the floors in my 100+ year old home. I don't know…read morehow it ranks vs "normal" hardwood restoration projects, but it seemed pretty complicated to me. It involved not only sanding and refinishing, but leveling the kitchen floors and lacing in new wood with the old in multiple places, several patches, installing all new baseboards, and some creative problem-solving to work the quarter round around the floor vents. He also built a new cover for my crawl space entry to match the flooring around it. Throughout the job, Mike was responsive, friendly, patient, respectful, and worked with a high level of integrity and transparency. He was genuinely fantastic to work with - I never felt like I was being brushed off or taken advantage of (as opposed to some other contractors I've encountered).
