Heaven. Potato salad - perfect; a little on the sweeter side. No mayo here, as it should be. Also, we were craving veg, so ordered the rucola salad. This being Austria, it was covered in ham and a sharp cheese. I'm not complaining The room had a simple, cozy cellar bar feel. It was a tad warm inside. Friendly service. Although I tried my best with German they also spoke excellent English. Drinks wise - hubby enjoyed the lager beer and I loved the Weiss gespritzt. At €3,90 a glass, I was happy! We ordered the Wiener Schnitzel, prepared in the traditional Viennese style, and it was amazing! The schnitzel was perfectly cooked and paired beautifully with their potato salad, which was also really good. We also tried the Tafelspitz, served with a flavorful beef broth and vegetables. It was hearty, fresh, and packed with flavor. Their house beer on tap was refreshing and went perfectly with the meal. But the real showstopper was dessert--the famous Kaiserschmarrn with apricot. These fluffy, shredded pancakes were absolutely divine, and the apricot added just the right amount of sweetness. Easily one of the highlights of the meal! Service was impeccable, and everything tasted fresh. I highly recommend making a reservation, especially because this is a small restaurant and it clearly has a strong following among locals. The atmosphere is lovely, with a neighborhood, non-touristy vibe that makes the experience feel authentically Viennese. If you're looking for delicious traditional Viennese specialties without the tourist-trap feel, definitely put Gasthaus Pöschl on your list!

There is automatic cover charge of 5.5 € per person for bread butter and sun flower seeds that the restaurant call "small surprise ". Very unfortunate for a Michelin mentioned restaurant. The ox spitz has the crispy bread crumbs on top with soft meat on top a bed of veggies. Highly recommend. Vienna Schnitzel is ok but the schnitzel one is better. Service is good. The house did bring out the cucumber cold soup to clear the palate and the cold chocolate to end the meal on the house.
