I have a Volvo that was in need of many repairs. Kirkbride drove me home without me even having to ask. They looked at my car and gave me their honest opinion. I ended up taking it to a specialty shop but really appreciated the honesty. They could easily have charged me for the repairs (as the dealership has done) without actually fixing anything. Instead they recommended taking it to a Volvo repair shop to be done correctly. I will definitely use them in the future. read more

Charlie and Ryan are great mechanics. They can work on any car or truck from vintage, to exotic, and new cars as well. They are extremely honest and concerned about there customers not to mention they are great people. We have been going here for a few years and had been happy with the service.... Until Recently. My wife went for an oil change on our Audi Q5. When she picked it up The bill was like $250 plus tax, which seemed way too high for just an oil change, so he says he made a mistake and drops it to $200 plus tax. That still seemed high, So I called Audi Layton($159) and Audi Salt Lake($149). Then he lies and He tells me he called Audi and they were $215 right on his price. Not in Utah dude. Don't trust this guy as he will charge whatever he thinks he can get away with. We are done with him. read more

Been going to Charlie for quite some time. I trust Charlie, he has never steered me wrong. His prices have always been fair.

My family took our cars here and they would have to "fix" the problems we had four or five times before they actually fixed the real problem. I' not sure if they would swap in used parts or just do no work at all, but we would always be returning with the same mechanical issue that Charlie assured us was fixed this time.. We changed mechanics and never had an issue again with returning after a month with the same car problems. They also tried saying my car was totaled when it needed a new radiator pump and fan. Selective scammers with their regulars, or incompetent mechanics, who knows. I finally got my father to stop trusting these guys after he had paid literally thousands of dollars in unnecessary repairs. I can't figure out how they have so many google reviews glowing about them. read more

Rude, horrible customer service. My wife stopped by to get her emissions testing done. The staff at the desk was rude to my wife and child and made a comment when they left to "come back when you have something expensive to be done." If this business doesn't want to do emissions testing then they shouldn't do it, but don't be rude and obnoxious to customers because you don't make enough money on simple services like this. We came to this auto repair location because someone recommended them to us. We had nothing but problems. It took us 4 attempts to get our car before it was really repaired. The technicians that worked on our car put in parts that were defective and forgot to put everything back together after he "fixed the car." The whole time that we were trying to explain to the tech and the owner that the car was not driving right, and making noises that we had never hear before, they told us that we were imagining things and that the car was 100%. When we finally picked up the car, it was after hours and we requested the keys be locked in the car. Almost a week later we were still not able to find our keys, so I begrudgingly called the office and asked them if they had our keys. The response that I got back was that they were hanging on the wall ready to be picked up. What a joke! We will not be taking our car back to Kirkbride Auto ever again. read more

It is nice to know that there are still good people in this world! I became stranded when a rock became stuck in my calipers and Charlie went out of his way to come over to the parking lot I was at to look at the car. He had me follow him back to his shop where he was able to get the rock out very quickly. I was able to get back on the road and made it to my class only a couple of minutes late. Broke the cruise control when doing other work, then, refused to fix it, saying " these things happen, it wasn't something we did".

I started taking my old car here when we moved close to my parents, my mom has been taking her car here for a while. At first, he seemed so nice and concerned about giving you your money's worth. Well, Murphy knocked at our door and the car continued to break down time and again. I started getting concerned when it seemed like he didn't even remember me from time to time. I was in there at least once a month with my car since July 2012. Even if I told him details it was all news to him. I understand you don't remember absolutely everyone, but it just sat the wrong way with me. We finally got to the point where we decided if anything else went wrong, that was it. No more pouring money into this thing. We take it to him (because we broke down near him and needed to tow it nearby) and ask him how much to get it going again. Well, he comes up with about 4 things that are "contributing" and fixes them without asking if we wanted it done. Then, lo and behold, he calls and finds the "real" problem.. I am extremely upset about this because I feel like he just found things he could fix, fixed them without asking. Then it needs $800, at least, more of parts and labor, to even get it going. I never would have given permission to fix the minor things if I had known. It seems like he just looks for things to fix and does it without asking. I wish I had known before I gave him thousands of my dollars. Not to mention, I started getting quotes for some of the things he wanted to do at our old mechanic and other mechanics, and they were 50% cheaper than him, if not more. This place is a rip off. Oh, and one more thing, he'll probably keep your car for a week before he even looks at it. read more
