I have so much to say about Kirkman Road Veterinary Clinic. Our 6-year-old Goldendoodle, Luna, became very sick and was struggling to breathe when we brought her in. We were cared for by Dr. Collins and her assistant Grace, and I truly cannot say enough about their compassion. When we had to make the heartbreaking decision to put Luna down, they sat on the floor with us, comforted us, and showed so much kindness and love to our dog. They wrapped her paws in gauze with a small heart so we wouldn't have to see the IVs, and gently wrapped her in a blanket so I could hold her as she peacefully went to sleep. They never rushed us and supported us through every moment. Weeks later, we received a beautiful card with Luna's paw print and nose print, along with handwritten notes from the entire staff. It meant more than I can express. In one of the hardest moments of our lives, they treated us and our dog like family. That kind of compassion stays with you, and we will never forget it. read more

Very distressing experience during an already difficult time. Our dog passed away, and we clearly stated--multiple times to at least three different staff members--that only our dog and a small photograph were to be cremated. Each time, we were told "okay" and understood. However, we were later informed that the bed and blankets had also been cremated--without our authorization. When we went to pick up our dog's belongings, before we said anything, a staff member stated that we had requested this, which is not accurate. All we want is to receive all of our dog's cremated remains. If additional items were cremated with her, we expect all resulting ashes to be returned to us in full. This situation reflects a serious breakdown in communication and documentation, and it has been deeply upsetting for our family. read more

Last week I took Drew, my Cavalier King Charles, for a well check and his rabies shot renewal. Dr Savardi noticed a lump on his stomach. The veterinarians consulted, did X-rays and preformed an emergency splenectomy same day! My pup had a near ruptured spleen and this surgery saved his life. Before leaving the clinic I also had all the medicine I would need for Drew's recovery. Thank you for staying to do the surgery Dr Eliscu! I've been bringing my dog here for 10 years and will bring every pet I ever have here. The whole team is truly phenomenal, but today I want to highlight Dr. Ebner for going above and beyond. While Riley is cared for by many of the wonderful staff here, Dr. Ebner was the first vet to see and treat her as a sick puppy. Over the years, there have been several times we've been in the office and he popped in the room just to say hello to her. He took care of her again today for a wellness visit and even though it's been a few years since we've seen him, I couldn't believe how much he remembered about her. We have been using a vet almost 45 mins away from where we live for years now. We're so particular with who cares for our pups. Our sweet girl couldn't keep anything down and eventually stopped eating all together. She was not acting herself. Our vet had no availably to see her for at least week so we have no choice but to try some place else. We are SO grateful for Dr. Joyner & the entire staff at Kirkman Road Veterinary Clinic. Dr. Taylor Collins might just be the best vet in Orlando. I took my Frenchie to her yesterday, he had several symptoms and she's not the first vet I've taken him to for these issues but she is the first vet that treated my baby wholly and not just the symptoms. Oliver's most prevalent symptom was lethargy. Today, Oliver woke up with energy and happiness that I had almost forgotten was his normal state. I'm overjoyed and extremely grateful for the efforts of Dr. Taylor Collins and the staff at Kirkman Road Veterinary Clinic. I cannot say enough about the staff, and veterinarians here. My cat has been sick for a few months fighting fatty liver disease, and each time I have brought him in to be seen everyone from the front office staff, to the techs, and vets have been absolutely amazing. A few names that stood out was Amanda she was incredibly kind when I spoke to her over the phone, Dr, Ebner who would call me to see how my cat was improving, and the tech that was there assisting the day I had to put my cat down. I was so distraught that day forgot her name (sorry). I will continue to praise the team here and I have two more cats who I will be bringing here. Stay away from Kirkman Rd. Vet Clinic! The worst of the corporate owned practices. There are multiple doctors who I think are employees of the practice and its difficult to see the same vet repeatedly. Came in with young, mostly healthy cat presenting diarrhea. Vet tech hands me a pre-invoice menu of services that's almost $1000 including X-Rays, test for Pancreatitis, blood work to determine organ failure, cans of food, pro-biotic supplements, and on and on. Vet Tech asks which of these I want to purchase. I said, "I want the doctor to examine my cat and recommend treatment". The Vet Tech seemed disappointed that I didn't order from the menu. Had to bring my cat back several times that same week to get treated. By the 2nd visit, I was asking for antibiotics, as a gastrointestinal bug was the most likely culprit. I was told they would need to do X-rays to rule out blockage and they recommended more blood work, supplements, etc... Long story short, almost $1000 in diagnostics and treatment/exams, they finally acquiesce and prescribe the $26 antibiotics I had asked for 2 visits ago. The Vet Tech tried to check me out without the antibiotics, I had to pretty much beg and get the doctor back in the room to get the antibiotics. 4 hours after the first dose, the cat was getting better. A day later, she had no symptoms. Now why the heck did it take almost $1000 and 4 visits to get there? If it was a 6 year old kid at the pediatrician, they would have went home from the first visit with antibiotics. There's almost no downside to trying a short, broad spectrum course. But, regardless of this one anecdotal report...they are so corporate that there is not a doctor or anyone who takes responsibility for anything there. If there's a complaint, you get a business card with an executive administrator's e-mail. They care more about cranking up invoices than treating pets. Old Dr. Porter (who used to own the practice, but has passed away), would be ashamed of their practice today, I think. read more

Dr. Joyner is such an awesome vet. She has a big heart to go with all the knowledge she has to care for all fur babies. As we all know that doctor offices are scary regardless if it's for us humans or pets, Dr. Joyner does all that she can to make my kitty feel comfortable during each visit. She also covers all her bases with making sure my fur baby is healthy and explains every step/need as well as patiently answers all my questions. My little one came in and out for spaying and microchipping without any issues. Dr. Joyner only wants what is best for my little one and I trust her fully with all decisions on what my fur baby needs. I live in Sanford and I'll make the drive so I can have Dr. Joyner as my vet!! I took my cat Angel to this veterinary clinic a couple years ago and asked the vet why she was regurgitating two to three times a week. The vet told me she didn't know; she never asked to have any lab work, blood work, x-ray or anything. She just told me she didn't know why. Recently, I was just watching a favorite YouTuber of mine who has a dog that had similar symptoms and her vet diagnosed Metaesophogus which is a narrowing of the esophagus and causes a blockage of food coming down and that's why they regurgitate it. Life expectancy is not really good for those animals. Also she never suggested that maybe a worm infestation could also be causing it which is also a possible diagnosis for her condition. Well now I'm having to amend this original review. This was the first strike against the clinic because they now said that they no longer have that vet, so I'm assuming she was let go because of incompetence. Well one of my cats started rubbing their butt on the floor which I looked up on the internet and it indicated that that might be a worm devastation. So I thought well maybe I better deworm my cats. Well, Chewy that I use, didn't have a place to put more than one animal in their app and/or a ability to put notes saying, oh by the way, I have two cats. So I assumed that one pill of Dronal which is a multi-worm deworming medicine that according to the internet and according to Amazon doesn't require prescription but according to Chewy they require it. So I said fine. Well my vet clinic never called me to indicate that the prescription would be 1.5 pills for an animal. They approved the prescription for my cat Cleopatra but they never called me to say, oh by the way, you need to consider deworming both cats cuz we know you also have Angel. So I only got two pills originally, but yet the prescription indicated I needed to give 1.5 pills to Cleopatra. So I immediately called and I said well I guess I need one more pill to give to both Cleopatra and Angel. So They said we'll submit a second request to your vet. WELL, YOU DONT WANT TO KNOW WHAT HELL THIS CLINIC HAS PUT ME THROUGH SINCE!!!!!!! When their office manager indicated to me that I was right the first time I called to them: and truthfully I said LOOK I'm going to tell you I'm not happy with your clinic because your vet, not necessarily misdiagnosed my cat but she didn't give me ANY DIAGNOSIS or any requests for any test or Labs or x-rays or whatever (basically that I'd wasted over $300 to them): .... she just said that that vet no longer worked for them. Well then I said well why didn't I get a call that I should deworm both my cats (that is standard procedure for a parasitic infestation. They then told Chewy that my cat Angel was never a patient at their clinic...... THEY f****** LIED.... THEY f****** lied that my cat hasn't been a patient or clinic. We recently took our 16 year old beagle-mix dog for a routine visit. Dr. Eliscu found an abdominal mass during her examination. An x-ray and ultrasound was quickly completed to confirm that the mass needed to be removed. The KRVC Team expeditiously scheduled the surgery. We were very nervous due to his age and medical history, however we have been KRVC clients for over 18 years and trust Dr. Eliscu and Whitney implicitly. The surgery went smoothly and our dog is on the mend. Dr. Eliscu provided a timely update after the procedure was completed and followed up to check on his progress at home. Dr. Eliscu and Whitney are very caring to humans and pets and beyond amazing. I changed my dog's veterinary office to this practice, as the one we were going to after moving was too high-pressured with hard selling their pet "insurance" plans along with expensive services. Upon comparison of a proposal for dental work, I could also have my dog's benign tumors & cysts removed for the same price, without pet insurance. We took her back the following month when an inner ear infection had her suddenly off-balance, head tilting and unable to walk or see straight. The vet said she should be fine within a few weeks, and to keep​ an eye her so she doesn't fall into the pool, etc. We trust them with her health and dental care. read more

If my first review wasn't bad enough this one is so much worse. The shots that they gave my puppy has made her sick for the past several days so I needed to go pick up medication for her. I work a full-time job- I got off at 5:40 and immediately drove a half an hour to go pick up the medication. I spoke with someone on the phone earlier in that day and I did warn them that I could be running a little bit late and to please wait for me. I then called again once I was on my way to let them know, "Hey I'm coming please don't lock the doors. I'm on my way. I'm gonna get there as fast as I can to pick up her medication.." I only did this based off of my previous experience from Saturday to give them a courtesy call and to ensure that I would be able to get the meds I paid for. I got there at 6:08- they close at 6:00 but again we communicated with each other and had an understanding. Out comes the Vet who was extremely aggressive towards me She said " This will be the last time we will accommodate you, I do not like pet parents who run late. I also do not like pet parents who are rude to my staff." Excuse me? If I ever spoke to a customer/guest the way you just spoke to me I would get fired. All you had to do was hand me the medication and send me on my way- but you chose to attack me and come at me. Wouldn't trust her with a 10 foot pole- let alone my puppy who I left in her hands who is now sick. Your staff was the one who was rude to me and beyond disrespectful towards me as a paying customer during my other visit that I left another review on- and now the shots have made her sick so of course it's upsetting to me.! You guys are clearly traumatizing my dog. She then said to me " there are plenty of other vet clinics if we're not working out for you!." I then said "I will not be coming back." She said "THATS FINE." I spoke with the manager 2 days ago who was very kind and apologetic about my experience from my 2nd visit but now after encountering this I am at a loss for words. I was running 12 mins late for my appointment, I have a new puppy who is 12 weeks old and very fussy and difficult to get into the car. We had an appointment at 1:30 for her shots I showed up at 1:42 They gave my appointment away, told me I had to wait 1-2 hours to be seen. Told me maybe come back another day, I drove a half hour to get here!!! I did the best I could to be on time- it was 12 mins not 45 mins. This is absolutely unacceptable and not a good way to run a business. The woman I spoke to was very rude and condescending and not at all understanding and made me feel very unwelcome. The tech who saw me had a nasty tone with me when we asked about the influenza shot and how my puppy had a 5 in 1 that included it. The first time I went they also would not allow me to go inside the room because it's "curbside only". I have never had such a negative experience at a vet clinic before and I've had dogs my entire life. I demanded to speak to a manager but there was not one conveniently available. I know the staff have their own lives and it's was a Friday night, so they could have easily sent me to an emergency vet. They were able to get us in and out, and my dog on the mend. Today was just another reason why we will never part with this office(we have been with them since 2008). Yes they are far but you pay for what you get! We had a pet emergency occur last night. I called as soon as the office opened the next day and they were able to squeeze me in for a 4pm appt. My dog and I arrived 1/2 hour early and they got us in right away so we didn't have to wait until the designated appointment time. I was thrilled! Dr. Ebner examined our girl with such care and was very thorough. He definitely knows his stuff! He was very receptive to my questions and never made me feel silly for asking. Amazingly, the office was able to schedule the surgery needed for 2 days from today. All this and we were pulling out of their parking lot at 415! We took one of our rescued cats here last month for a surgical procedure. The wait time was under 5 minutes & I really appreciate that they have separate wait rooms for dogs & cats. The front desk staff were polite & helpful - the veterinarian didn't leave us waiting in the back, either. Both vets that I met while there were knowledgeable & had excellent bedside manner. They answered all questions fully & in a manner that was easy to understand. We returned when we got our new dog after this positive experience & again; no wait time, friendly faces & even for just a bath/nail trim drop-off the vet met with us and answered questions we had about our new dogs dietary needs - I found this very helpful considering they do not charge for an exam when getting a bath. read more

this is the worst vet I've ever experienced! they are all about robbing you and not servicing you at all!! I literally have been trying to get my female French bulldog fixed for the past four months. I've already paid for two lab reports because their receptionist never gets back to you. I walk in today to pick up some wipes for her and get an estimate for her up-and-coming appointment to get fixed and the fee goes from $400 to $900 including a fee for micro chipping, when she had that done when she was a puppy! it's like they just add stuff on your bill hoping that you don't even realize what they're adding they never give you the results for your heart test for your fecal test, but are so quick to add it on they charge me for heartwarming medicine never give it to me! do not bring your dogs to this vet. I will be removing both my dogs from the system and be finding new vets to go to. They do not deserve your dollar horrible vet. read more

I have a 5 year old Hollond Loop Bunnie. It is silly but he is the love of our lives in our home. He recently got sick and I had to find a vet that was familiar with rabbits. I read a lot of reviews and made some phone calls. I can't say enough great things about my entire experience here. From the first phone call to Coco's continued care. The office was clean, super friendly, and sympathetic, on time, no wait. Dr. Ebner was very knowledgeable about rabbits. I stayed silent and listened to everything he had to say. In other words, in my spare time, I read about rabbit care I think I could be a rabbit vet..lol Just kidding. He was really on the money. Speaking of money. I expected to leave with a huge bill and added services but that was not the case. Super inexpensive. The entire office came to see Coco when he was there. I will never go to another Veterinary clinic. FYI Coco is doing much better. Turns out he has a kidney stone. When I took him in he was near death. Not moving, not pooping, which is really bad for rabbits. I could hear in his breathing the pain he was feeling. We've been taking our cats here for a while - they're always very kind and timely. I personally love Dr Alicia - she never treats me like I'm someone who doesn't know how to take care of my animals. Just explains why something might be happening, and what I can do in our home to prevent it. This is pretty rare in vets, I've found, unfortunately. But she's great. They sometimes do some unnecessary procedures that can get expensive (for example, an x-ray to make sure there wasn't a stone blocking things up - it turned out to be nothing but it was around $100 for a 5 minute thing), but I'd rather that than they don't do it and miss something important. read more

Long story short: My 14yr old cat had to get her back left leg amputated due to cancer, we took her to Kirkman Road, and they not only did an *amazing* job but the entire staff was caring and compassionate beyond words. And the surgery was half the cost of other Orlando vets. Long story: On the 4th of July our kitty's ear was bleeding, and we found a tumor on her foot. Having been through similar situations in the past, we skipped taking her to our regular vet - Kirkman Road - and went straight to the specialists at AVS. Huge, huge, mistake. At AVS, for one appointment, we spent $600 and got the following: A check-up, blood work, an aspiration of the tumor, anti-anxiety meds for her while they aspirated the tumor, and someone who looked in her ear to confirm there was a mass there. They recommended a $1500 ear biopsy, $300 chest x-rays, and a $2500 amputation of her leg upon finding out the results of her aspiration. By the way - the aspiration said the tumor was 'likely' cancer, but inconclusive. We were shocked, we didn't know what to do. We had all her AVS work faxed to Kirkman Road and they called to ask us what was up. When we explained, they recommended bringing her to them for x-rays since they were cheaper there. At Kirkman Road, for one appointment, we spent about the same as AVS, and got the following: Chest x-rays, a scope of her inner ear and a disk with the photos, total sedation so they could completely flush and clean her ears (the 'mass' was just bacteria and flushed right out. Got photos of the clean ear too), and TWO actual biopsy's of the tumor. The biopsy confirmed that it was cancerous, and for half the cost of AVS we had her entire back left leg amputated. Before we had it done, I looked at photos of amputees online and it was bad. I prepared myself to see a really ugly wound and back leg area until the fur grew back. But Dr. Eliscu did an absolutely amazing job of our kitty's amputation. If a wound can be called 'beautiful,' this one certainly is. It was done so cleanly, and so neatly. It was absolutely outstanding. They gave Lexi plenty of meds and kept a close watch on her, and they also let us spend plenty of time visiting and loving on her. I don't think there are words to describe how grateful we are to not only get amazing surgery and care, but to also be able to afford it... but I don't know what we would have done without Kirkman Road. We now get many more years with our Lexikins, and we are so thankful. read more
