There were a couple of cars in the small 'parking' area. It was nice and peaceful looking over the city and watching planes fly over. There were trails but they were muddy from the rain the night before so we decided against hiking. Spent time looking at a black squirrel playing in the woods. He was adorable, running up and across trees. It was a nice respite.

We saw several deer and a fox on our last trip! Our favorite part has to be the small waterfall. We've camped here before as well, and we enjoyed our night. The bathrooms certainly aren't sparkling clean, but they are still cleaner than many I have been in at state parks! Our next goal is to spend a night in one of the cabins!

The bottom area provides a place to stop and have a picnic, feed some fish and check out a "archaeological" area. It also provides some great hiking trails. They provide 2 trails that can be combined to give you a nice 2 mile hike. The trail follows down to a cool suspension bridge and you can get down into the creek area and explore the rocks. The trip back takes you through the forest to a high area of pine trees. They also have a nice playground and picnic pavilion up the hill as well. Take a moment on your road trip and stop and visit this amazing place.

It really has a lot to offer and me and my kids love going there. The downside is that it can get crowded and sometimes with older kids on the playground that make me less comfortable with my 4 and 2 year old. It's a great park and lots to do. I think the paved walking path is a little over one mile around.

It's…read morequiet and peaceful for the most part, on summer afternoons and evenings it gets a bit louder with kids playing and sometimes sports practices or picnics, but I love that people are using the outdoor space. There's a couple benches by the playground for parents to watch kids play, and picnic tables if you want to come for a meal or hang out. It gets mowed regularly but not often, and sometimes the trash could be emptied before they get to it. There are times people will leave things behind and it looks trashy but that's not too often thankfully. It really is a nice park and homes in the surrounding area around are well cared for, so it's a good place to come with or without kids.

Hickory Street off of 51st dead ends in a little cul-de-sac where people park to take dogs for walks or eat in their cars. It's good for walking dogs because you can choose cross country on the grass or stick with the pavement. Doggy duty clean up bags are available at a dispenser. This park was once two small, separate parks named for the prominent citizens who donated the land.
