Looking at the basked on hole 9.

I figured it's time for an update. So the overhaul of Seymour's disc golf course has finally turned the corner, making throwing a round here quite enjoyable once again. The biggest improvement is the installation of a new bridge. Now you don't have to risk spraining an ankle (or worse) crawling through a creek bed in order to get to the last three holes. While there is certainly more work to be done as far as replanting trees and general grooming of the course, it is now 100% playable. Yeah, it still gets busy on weekends, even during the winter months if weather permits. So your best bet is getting out there for a speedy round or two is on a weekday. You might even meet a cool guy named Justin who is really nice. No go get out there and throw!

My disc stuck in mud off hole 3!

Thursday evenings are definitely not a time to go to Seymour Smith. Apparently the disc golf leagues are in play during this time. It took me about 2 hours to play about 12 holes.

In it's current state this park is shit

Winding through the middle of the Iowa Western Community College campus, Treasure Cove is a…read morechallenging, beautiful course that's always in tip-top shape. Plus it's only about a 10 minute drive from downtown Omaha. There's plenty for everyone here: multiple tees for multiple skill levels, a few mando shots for those up for the challenge and holes that range from wide open spaces to secluded hideaways in the woods. There's a creek that winds through much of the course that's taken advantage of as well -- you have to love their signature hole with the basket that hangs from a pedestrian bridge just above the water (hole 13 I think?). Plus, you'll likely see a little wildlife when you're here, including adorable little baby deer. The only con I can think of is that you often run into the occasional jock or 40 as they prep to fulfill their juco dreams. Best to go during school breaks.

Treasure Cove? I would cal lit Booty Cove, but the locals might not like that. I had to start my…read moreround off at the 4th tee because I did not gain access to the back road that would have led me to the 1st tee. Overall a very fun course. Well groomed with a nice mix of hills and valleys. Not a terrible hike, but not an easy walk. Wearing sandals is not a great idea, but try telling that to a college kid. Outdated signage (hole 10) and rubber mats. If they would just pour some concrete (money$$) for the pads it would be fine. Leave the rubber for an Ace Race of the like, but make the rest perpetual. A couple of easy 3's and hard 4's. I like it a lot. I would love to see this course mature and am glad to have played it in its; youth
