I went to Kirshner's to get some recommendations and plant talk, and Jeff and Drew were very helpful in the selection process. Three years ago I paid over $10,000 for my property to be landscaped. Part of the project included building a new front step. There were areas on the step where gaps in the stone still needed to be filled with cement. Jeff promised me he would address these issues the following week. I spoke to him several times and each time he promised to fix the steps. Three years later I'm still waiting. Since the installation the cement Kirshners used to fill the gap in the stone has started to disintegrate. Our front step looks awful. I am embarrassed when people walk up to our front door. I'm hoping that sharing my bad experience with Kirshner's will be helpful to those considering them for their landscaping project. Jeff Kirshner is not reliable or a man of his word! read more

I bought a rain gauge from Kirshner Landscapes and it doesn't calibrate the rain amount correctly. Either the markings are wrong or the tube is too narrow. And their merchandise is not cheap. Because I've had it awhile, they don't want to stand behind it. Be aware if you shop here, that expensive does not equate to quality. Who wants a rain gauge where you have to guess how much rain you had? read more

Knowledgeable! I've been to Kirshners many times over the past several years. When I lived in Doylestown many years ago, I had a "neighbor from hell" and needed something to block them, but inexpensive. They knew exactly what would do the trick, and offered other suggestions also. A few years ago I bought a short sale that had overgrown gardens (Picture the infamous "Grey Gardens"/ Hamptons. Similar state of overgrowth from lack of attention over years.) Corner property- so lots of gardens. On a tight budget with rehabbing, I stuck with big box hardware store for most plantings. But, when in a quandry as to "will it survive?" and "why is it dieing (and replaced every year)? Kirshners knowledge is top notch! You can't get that at a big box store. Priceless. And the plants/ trees/ bushes are very healthy at Kirshners. What I really like is the customer service. Upon pulling into the property, they instinctively know to let you look around for awhile before approaching. Impeccable timing. They are eager to help, though not overbearing. They LISTEN to your concerns, issues, preferences. The owner (I think- he's always there, and always on the move, but never too busy to put the customer first) is such a pleasure! I understand that they have huge accounts, both commercial and residential. But I get incredible service with my 1-4 plant purchases. If I ever have a large project (if I ever hit the lottery! LOL!), Kirshners will be my first stop for major work of patios and ponds and fountains. For now, I just so enjoy absorbing the vast amount of information I receive from Kirshners with my small purchases. read more

We would not recommend doing business with Kirshner. Jeff does ok with design and initial installation, but it is all downhill from there. He has no ability to follow up with issues that inevitably come up. We have been asking, for example, for a replacement light in the back. There is always a story about the supplier, but it gets worse. Jeff is rarely available, and never shows up when agreed. We have wasted days waiting for him to show up at times that he suggested (assuming you can even get a response from him). After 2 years of waiting for repairs/replacements/fixes, he has ceased responding. After your last check clears the bank, it will be impossible to ever reach him. Look elsewhere. read more

We hired Kirshner Landscapes to install a front walkway, outline our flower beds with a Belgian style curb stone, plant trees and other plants and install red tipple in all of the flower beds. We spent $15000-$20000 for this work. We were told the tipple would be 2-3 inches thick, it wasn't. In some areas it was fine but in many areas there was barely enough tipple to cover the surface and the underlying weed blocker was visible. We complained and were told they would be back to fix it...this is where the red flags came up. We were also told if there were any issues with the block walkway and porch they would come back and fix it...this is where it really went wrong! I contacted Howard Kirshner in 2018 many times to fix the uneven porch because it settled and was becoming a hazard. He promised to come back..over and over and over, months passed....so many texts with no replies and when I did get a reply, it was always an excuse. I kept texting and calling. Spring was here and the issues still hadn't been fixed. I texted and called more, then Howard Kirshner finally said he would get to it but his guys were behind schedule! I said I had been waiting since the previous year and how could it be that I was not at the top of the list! I even told him I would pay to have it fixed because it was getting so bad. It wasn't until I said I was going to handle it a different way if it wasn't fixed in the next week. Well, they showed up the next week and reduced the height of the blocks that were hazardous but not perfect by any means. They did not fix the failed border nor did they fix the red tipple. Howard said he would be back the next day "to drop off the tipple" , which meant I had to finish the job myself. Since then I have texted him numerous times. One response was "I talked to my guys 10 days ago and they haven't gotten to it"! Its a disgusting way to treat your customers and I am so sorry I hired them. I just hired a new company to fix their lousy work and will see Howard Kirshner in small claims court next. BE AWARE OF THIS COMPANY, THEY DO NOT STAND BEHIND THEIR WORK! They did a FANTASTIC job on my paver patio. They are very knowledgeable.

My parents started some DIY work on a fountain/mini pond in the backyard a while back, but they never finished. Kirshner Landscapes came out to finish and didn't skip a beat. They were fun, funny, and went above and beyond to finish the job. We are so happy with the end result and my mom gets compliments every time people come over and see it. The pond is actually so great, we now have fish!!!! read more

My husband and I had Kirshner Landscape install patios and steps in 2019. One of the natural stone steps was broken and cracked from the date of instillation. I took pictures of it and sent it to Howard Kirshner on August 18th 2019 after a few phone calls did not get a resolution. We went back and forth and the company was too busy to replace the broken stone step. After going in person the their nursery he said it would be done.. it wasn't and by the time he said he could do it it was to late in the season. He said they would do it in the spring. I stopped at the nursery again in the spring and did not get a response. I sent more messages. In April I sent more text messages and he stopped out to look at the step and said it would be taken care of... once again it was not. In June I stopped again and received replacements for the plants that died but had to plant them myself.. he did not offer install them. He made more excuses for why the step wasn't available. My last attempt was August 24th, he said he would replace the step by the end of the week. It is now September 7th. In addition to the step, the one patio has had constant problems that I had to hire a different landscape contractor to repair at a cost of over $1500.00. Kirshner's solution for this problem previously was to hand me some sand to attempt to repair it my self. I would like to make consumers aware that this company will promise you service but will not back up their promise. May the buyer beware... look elsewhere if you need a project done. read more

Never even knew about this place till I stopped by today. They have a huge property with a wide variety of different shrubs and flowering plants. I was especially impressed that they had a few specific varieties I was looking for but could never locate at other local garden centers.
