A superior experience for those, fortunate few, who make it to the property. The scenery is gorgeous, the staff is accommodating, the wine surpassed all expectations. I lived in SF for over a decade where my friends and I made frequent pilgrimages north to drink wine all over the region, including my favorite spot, Healdsburg. In my opinion, Kistler is the pinnacle experience in Healdsburg. The Chardonnay at Kistler is peerless; the most exquisite I've ever tasted. The pinot noir was nothing to sneeze at either. If you're interested in merely having a wonderful day, this might not be the place for you and your wine trip; Kistler should be your stop if you're only seeking the absolute best and nothing shy of that will suffice.

We went for the Golden Hour event this summer. Since the daylight is long, it's not quite "golden hour" as around sunset. But that didn't deter us from this fabulous event. Kistler is known for their Chardonnay, and they put together a beautiful set of edibles to pair with the wine. And of course, Hog Island oysters freshly shucked is the perfect pair. We can't wait until the next time!

A first class experience that is detailed, personal and authentic. We are huge fans of the wines so this felt like meeting a celebrity, but it truly is a unique experience around this area. Rosemary was our hostess and was an amazing guide with her knowledge of the estate and wines, as well as, a great conversationalist to some winos. From working with Katie to set up our reservation to the time we left the hospitality was amazing! Very generous and fun! Can't thank you enough! Well worth the money! Do yourself a favor and fill out the tock questionnaire associated with your reservation and enjoy!

Trenton Road house was an amazing experience. The Kistler team provided great service and at beautiful location. We enjoyed lunch under a pergola and drank amazing wine. I hope heaven is this much fun.

Burgundian style Chardonnay at its best, March 2015 visit! Brooke is wonderful here, thank you.

********************* 1266 ********************** BY APPOINTMENT ONLY, Yelpers please don't just stop by and write a bad review about it! Kistler Vineyards was never open their tasting room for decades until recently. Can you imagine that their wine club members and fans around the world can only drink the wines they purchase but couldn't taste it before until now. Once you RSVP, they will tell you the instruction how to get here with a gated property. Trenton Roadhouse 7095 Trenton-Healdsburg Road Forestville, CA 95436 Opens TUE-SAT, by appointment only at 10:30 AM and 2 PM only per day. A gorgeous cottage like next to their 2 vineyards on the property, a barn, a pond, and a gorgeous view from their second floor. A newly remodeled and beautiful tasting room where you can be amazed, along with their award winning wines for decades. Brooked was greeted us nicely as we pulled in. She has the brightest smile, model like figure, dressed stylishly, of course because she moved here from New York. I, on the other hand, totally over-dressed in my short and tank top gym clothes! I was embarrassed :-) Too much diking and eating the night before I just wanted to running around the vineyard to burn the calories, so my thought! Until Brooke poured us some of the best Burgundian style wines, I'd rather chilled and enjoyed it. She explained and walked us through the soils, "it's all about the terroir" and that's what Kistler Vineyards is all about. "If the Kistler Winery could be magically transported to the middle of Burgundy's Côte d'Or, itwould quickly gain a reputation as glorious as any producer of Burgundy grand crus." Robert Parker said. Brooke is also a sommelier from New York with a Southern accent. She's vibrant, fun, and passionate about the program that Kistler is doing now with this brand new tasting room at the Trenton Roadhouse. She involved us in the tour that makes it so much more fun, very informative and educational. She also allowed us to taste side-by-side of the 3 chardonnays, so we could compare notes. That's the best way to learn about the terroir and what you like. My friends and I had an awesome time here. Both their Chardonnay and Pinot Noir are crafted utilizing classic Burgundian techniques. Kistler wines are produced solely by native yeasts. Their barrels are crafted from French oak that is aged to specifications and specifically tailored to their program. All of their wines are bottled unfiltered and unfined. All of the sites are planted to the same clone, a California heritage selection that they have been using for 3 decades, imagine that. Their wines are always sold out and source after, to get their wines, you got to be on the mailing list. They don't even have library wines, because they sold out after every vintage release. http://www.kistlervineyards.com/how-to-acquire-kistler-wines/ They offer 2 tasting options: 4 wines: 3 Chardonnay + 1 Pinot Noir for $75 per person 7 wines: 5 Chardonnay + 2 Pinot Noir for $150 per person I know it seems pricey for wines tasting in Sonoma, but remember this is not they typical Chardonnay and Pinot Noir you normally drink, this wine is source after, some of the best ever. Think of old world style wines. If you want a buttery style chardonnay, this is NOT for you. Burgundy style Chardonnay displays less fruit and more earth and mineral notes. They are powerful and rich, with complex fruit flavors and notes of earth and minerals. The wines expess more of the terroir, where it comes from. If you like me, you wold enjoy Kistler Chardonnay tremendously. Kistler Vineyards at Trenton Roadhouse should be on top of your list to visit if you are a white Burgundy lover/collector.

The grounds, the people, and the wonderful wines!! Outstanding all the way around !!!!! Cheers

Amazing Chardonnay! Make an appointment and it will be so worth it! They give you a little cheese plate to pair with your wines and it's so delicious.

The outdoor seating area by the lower barn is lovely but my favorite tasting experience here is inside the barn itself.

We've heard a lot of stellar reviews for Iron Horse, so we were underwhelmed by our experience. To start, we checked in at the front, got a glass of sparkling to start, and was told to wait for everyone joining us to get here. We waited for a few minutes. Our host ended up forgetting us and started walking off with the other party when they finally showed up, and the guy we checked in with had to go tell him we were part of his group. I enjoyed the charcuterie box that comes with the tasting, albeit there was some moldy bits here and there. We got the harvest magnum experience ($90/person). They offer more affordable experiences as well. To be honest, I wasn't impressed with any of the wines. I did enjoy the seating experience, the charcuterie box, and the mini impromptu tour everyone was given of the production. The wine itself was underwhelming for the price and as nothing stood out to us, we finished our tasting and didn't grab anything to go. As we weren't wine club members here, the host didn't pay us much attention. Worth trying once, maybe, to see if their wines are to your liking.

Our host was not great. Greeting person seemed not friendly and stressed. Standing like that under an umbrella with no benches seems cheap and annoying. We bought wine and really like the Rued Chard and some of the sparkling. But we won't be back and we are locals. Stinks because for a few staff changes and nicer seats this place could have it all. Oh and outhouse bathroom not cool when you are spending money. Like your wines and magical view/location but too many easy fixes for us to come back or recommend.

What a gorgeous setting outdoors to dine. We were surrounded by gardens and trees. We were so pleased with our server, Joel, who even though it was quite busy he managed to multitask efficiently and with a great smile. We each received a glass of wine per the lunch special (a generous pour at that). The Pinot was outstanding! I didn't love the Sauv Blanc so Joel kindly brought me the same glass of Pinot my friend was enjoying. I had the veggie focaccia sandwich and my friend the turkey pesto sandwich- both were scrumptious. A tasty fresh green salad and a chocolate chip cookie were also included in the lunch special- all were yummy. While there I inquired about their wine club and after hearing all the benefits of being a member I joined. I appreciated I never felt pressured to do so.

This business does not care about it's customers and is so impossible to reach it's almost comical…read more I was a long-term customer of Fog Crest. In 2024 we received a shipment of wine where all the wine in the shipment was broken. In typical situations, wineries offer replacement of broken bottles, but Fog Crest was impossible to reach in spite of (literally) 50 phone calls and emails. Since I couldn't reach them, I canceled my subscription to their wine club. Flash forward a few months, they charge me another ~$500 on my credit card for wine, but never ship me any wine (in spite of the fact that I had already canceled online). Again, dozens of calls and emails, no answer and no response. Still trying. A few months after that, they charge me ANOTHER ~$500 on my credit card for wine, but don't ship that wine to me either. After probably 100 calls and emails, I finally talk to the wine club coordinator on the phone. She of course acknowledges my dozens of messages, and acknowledges my situation. She says she will replace the wine that was broken and figure out why they've been charging me for wine I haven't been receiving and make it right. But that she can't talk right now and she'd call me back with more information. That was a month ago. I've now called again dozens of times, and emailed. No response. Called and emailed the owner, no response. This is borderline criminal: $1,500 in charges for undelivered product, a non-existent customer service experience, and an online system so archaic that it doesn't process your cancelation and continues to charge you for product.

Zero Accountability and Terrible Customer Service - Avoid Fog Crest!…read more I'm absolutely appalled by my experience with Fog Crest Winery. We joined their wine club in 2023 and was charged $420 all of 2024/25 for wine that they NEVER shipped. When I called to inquire about where the wine was, I was met with complete silence--multiple calls and messages went unanswered. After finally getting a call back, the person said they only called me back because "she saw we had called a lot in one day." That was the first red flag. She promised to credit my account and look into another charge that had been applied. It's been SEVEN days since that conversation, and STILL no credit, no updates, and no resolution. I've followed up with multiple calls, messages, and emails... NOTHING. At this point, it's clear that they don't care about their customers. I highly recommend staying far away from Fog Crest if you value your time and money. Total waste of both
