We had visited both the older location and then newer location now directly across the street. The prices are...well..pricy, but that's because you are paying for quality. Actual quality, not Home Depot quality. I'm by no means bashing Home Depot, they are great for tons of things. As we were at Bender, we were even encourage to google Home Depot prices in comparison to Bender's and obviously Bender had cost more, but we were taught what aspects were different. Like prior to our Bender experience, I had no clue that specific items are "made for Home Depot" and are not the same exact items available for purchase elsewhere. The same goes for Lowes. Alright, now that I've gone off rambling about non-specifically related nonsense... All in all I'd totally recommend Bender if you want to do your home right.

It was a simple mistake and should have been easily accommodating with their Reception and or Sales team. Instead they turned me away at the door and told me to drive to New Haven. I didn't have the time to do their addition drive. Since they couldn't make an adjustment to just look at the showroom while I was there, they just lost a very good client. For both a new bathroom and a new kitchen remodel. Thanks for the deplorable customer care Benders! I don't recommend this place to anyone!! Stay away and choose another business that can appreciate your time, effort and hard earned dollars.

While we had no issues during the process, shortly after the floor was sinking in multiple places. The contractor returned and placed a saddle in one area. Saddles were included in my contract (two separate contracts one for materials and one for labor), so we had paid for both even though they initially didn't use saddles. There was no refund given for the unused materials and work that was never done. They returned again to "lift" the kitchen subfloor. At this point they had to remove the new LVP, so they used our warranty to replace the flooring. The floor continues to sink in multiple areas. They suggested placing multiple saddles throughout my floor. They claimed the floor manufacturer said I needed them, so I don't know why I wasn't told or why it wasn't done during the initial installation. I asked when they open the floor and see the subfloor is unlevel would they do the honorable thing and return my money to me so I can have my floor repaired. I was told the subfloor is level and we are no longer discussing it. They hold no accountability. On top of all of this, they have photos of my home including personal information of where we live, personal details of our family and refuse to take it down. What customer ever wants this!? They have now blocked me on social media, and fail to communicate responsibly. All I would like is the money returned to me for the flooring that is now garbage because they have to take it apart to level underneath, the money paid to do the work that wasn't done correctly, reimbursement for what was paid out but never used. This is a major inconvenience to have to go through construction again. This has been dragged out too long, own up to your mistakes and Do the right thing. be warned and stay far away from this company.

My wife & I love our home, but the shower in our master bathroom was looking dingy... particularly,…read morethe grout between the tiles. Me being a typical guy, I tended to overlook it. But it drove my wife crazy, and the more I looked at it, she was right... The grout was no longer white, but kind of gray & discolored.... it just looked bad. And also, when we moved in, the people before us had just applied caulk between the tub and the tile wall, and it was all yucky and discolored (and probably a bit moldy). So we decided we needed to regrout. I was considering doing it myself until I did some research... this sounded like a time-consuming, tedious job... removing the old grout, applying the new grout after mixing it, washing the tile, waiting for it to dry.... I'm not much of a do-it-yourselfer to begin with, so the lazy sombitch in me decided to see if I could find anyone who would render this service for a reasonable price. I called a few people, and some places (particularly Amore) were kind of douchy on the phone about re-grouting. So I called Mignone, and they were able to give me a ballpark estimate. He had someone come out in a week or so, and man, for just $175, they did an incredible job. It's unbelievable how new the shower looks now.... fresh, gleaming white grout between the tiles. The man got the job done in less than 4 hours, and in just over a day, it was dry and ready for use. So, if you are considering a little home improvement in this type of area, definitely give these guys a call. I do feel somewhat guilty not being a do-it-yourself guy, but then again, it felt good supporting a good, reputable local business. So, if you need anything work done with your bathroom tile, give these guys a call. Well, I take that back. If you're trying to install a secret camera behind one of the tiles so you can see your co-ed roommate take a shower, don't call these guys. You're a real sicko, man... and you need to get some help. But for anything else you want to do with your tile, try these guys.

I was told that a replacement unit would take at least six weeks to arrive. Not choosing to wait I repaired the defects and had to negotiate a partial refund directly with the manufacturer. Lesson learned: Just because it's expensive doesn't mean it's well made. On two occasions I picked up multiple products at the loading dock. After an exhaustive one-by-one check I found that several items on the delivery ticket were not in fact provided. Lesson learned: Check everything carefully or you will make multiple trips back to the store. Most disappointing, we purchased an undermount sink for the vanity top. After a lengthy discussion with the sales rep. regarding the exact size we wanted, the sink was delivered to us and we sent it to the granite fabricator. When the countertop was delivered and the sink installed, we learned that the sink was smaller than the unit we discussed and selected. We had to purchase a new sink and fabricate a second countertop for $870. Plimpton accepted zero responsibility for the error and would not even refund the $151 for the incorrect unused sink because we did not have the original packaging. (This is after spending more than $12,000 on bathroom fixtures.) Lesson learned: Do not trust that what you communicated and selected will be accurately ordered and delivered. Check everything carefully. We will not use Plimpton for our remaining fixtures, and for the reasons above we do not recommend them to prospective customers.
