Without question the worst customer experience of our life. KBS let us down at all levels, from sales, to project management, to general management, to shoddy contractor work, and especially ownership. What's most confusing is the owner's complete lack of interest over the more than 6 months we went through this ordeal. He spoke to us twice, once when the problems started and then once at the end in an attempt to avoid bad reviews. He either didn't read or didn't care about the many emails we sent to him about our situation, since we never received responses or even acknowledgement. He simply did not care about helping fix the large quantity of problems we experienced. Again, worst customer experience of our life. Avoid KBS Kitchen. read more

Warning: Avoid KBS at all costs. I hired KBS for what was supposed to be a straightforward kitchen renovation. Prior to engaging and giving my initial deposit, they promised an estimated 12-16 weeks of total construction time. We are currently in week 24 with an additional estimated time to complete of 10-12 weeks due to cabinet delivery (which may have further delays). Even after the initial 12 weeks, the project was still in the beginning stages with no clear schedule, accountability, or progress. When questioned about the cabinet delay, they blamed "lack of workers after COVID " --which is not a valid excuse nearly five years later. After speaking with multiple other contractors in the area, I learned my experience is not unique. Other clients have kicked KBS out mid-project and switched contractors to salvage the work. I was also told there is an active lawsuit against KBS for unfinished projects. Several contractors confirmed that KBS significantly overcharges, including upcharging for the same cabinets that other suppliers sell at much lower prices. For comparison, (another local contractor) told me this same project should take 2-3 weeks maximum, and a separate local cabinet company in Westchester confirmed that I'm not the first client who came to them after a failed KBS renovation. This has been a nightmare for my family --costly, stressful, and completely mismanaged. With all this being known, the Company has not taken any action to help accommodate or offer any resolution. As a consumer, we understand there are delays in projects. But the major issue I have is the continuous false information, lack of care for their customers and treatment they've given to us as a family that includes 2 little toddlers that have gone through this whole process and KBS does not care Please take this as a serious warning: do not hire KBS. read more

I work in interior design- This is the second time I have worked with KBS - never again. We ordered VERY expensive kitchen cabinets that were delivered and half-installed weeks ago WITHOUT the glass in the cabinets, measurements off, half-scribed backs to cabinets, doors hitting other cabinets or loose doors, crooked hardware, missing shelf brackets, and more - I have emailed, called, left messages with no call backs and response other than vague messages about someone else calling me back. The rating would be no stars, if allowed. KBS is by far the worst, most dysfunctional organization we have ever done business with for any project. Renovation was a complete update (gutting) of two, small, second floor bathrooms. No walls were changed. Project work started in July 2023 and was finally completed in June 2024. Problems started before the project began with the permitting from the town. They requested information directly from KBS in early February 2023 to which the project manager did not respond until April. Although they were made fully aware in January of 2023 of our travel plans for June of 2023, at the end of May we were told by the project manager that we needed architectural plans, and we had to scramble and get them done a week before leaving the country. Once the actual work began with the demolition, they blew out a wall in the guest bedroom while working and about a week later one of the plumbers, doing the rough-in, put his leg through the ceiling into the first floor because they didn't bother to put down plywood to walk on. There are, however, a couple of things they are good at: 1) asking for money and collecting it immediately and 2) creating change orders for additional work resulting in additional costs that must be paid immediately. One interesting example was closing up a wall on the first floor that had to be opened to make repairs to a legitimate issue they found with the plumbing in one of the bathrooms. KBS cost to close up a one foot by five foot cut out section of a wall was $4,200 in addition to the plumbing work. We had the plumbing work done (also overpriced) to keep the project moving and we left the wall open and had another contractor we use close it for us for $500. The project manager was nonexistent; we never knew if contractors were showing up on any given day unless the actual contractor doing the work let us know. The communication from KBS was zero, the project manager just didn't care, and the owner didn't care either. We tried several times to have him intervene, but it fell on deaf ears. The only time the owner intervened was when we decided that we we're not going to pay the final amount due unless an issue with the finish on one of the vanities was rectified. We had been trying to no avail to get the project manager to take care of it for eight months. There were other issues, too numerous to list, that we had to deal with; in short, KBS is a nightmare to deal with from beginning to end. read more

I have a set of Ultracraft kitchen cabinets, which I didn't buy from them. I damaged the laminate on one of the doors, and wanted to find out about getting a new door, so I called them up on the phone. Even though they're an Ultracraft dealer, I was told they wouldn't sell me a door, wouldn't sell me a cabinet, they would only sell me an entire set of new kitchen cabinets. Really? An authorized dealer won't provide support for one of their product lines? I wouldn't be confident ordering a set of cabinets from here. read more

Stay away from KBS. Terrible customer service, pore installation that has never been corrected. The poor installation is causing problems. A follow up repair person came by and told me that the cabinets were not installed correctly therefore not all the components are fitting and working correctly. This was reported to KBS over a month ago. Never heard from them again. I guess they are hoping that this will all go away and I will never call them again. Save your money. Stay away. read more

KBS did my kitchen and a half bath in Fall 2019. I wrote a good review at the time which was accurate. I updated the review in December 2021 because a problem I was having with the cabinet door was going unaddressed. The cabinet manufacturer, UltraCraft, took no responsibility for their product. However, KBS finally (after hocking them) replaced my door after almost a year of going back and forth. Bottom line for me is that KBS did a great design job (thank you Marianna), provided me with good communication during the project (thank you Denise) and did a perfect installation. On time and pretty much on budget. I stand by my initial good review in spite of the cabinet issue that I had. KBS resolved it. They get points for that. It will be worth your time to check out KBS if you're planning a renovation. read more

Great place for custom made cabinets. They have an impressive showroom with all sorts of options for both kitchen and bath. They also do tiles, floors, counters, handles, the works. We worked with Steve who was very helpful with our questions and offered a good discount on quite a few options we were looking at. Recommended. read more

The first review paragraph below was written in July 2015...I was holding back, because of my designer who was respectful, excellent in professionalism and sincere with my needs. However, after well past 1 year, I'm deeply disappointed at their project management and the attitude of the owner. Review written in July----- Everything went smoothly until installation. My counter top didn't fit well so it added 2 weeks for the installation. Cabinet windows were wrong and several doors on the cabinets needed refinishes. They reordered the doors which was nice but took 3 months to receive doors and some of them were sent wrong. The cabinet windows were sent to me again after 3 months and again they were not the ones I ordered. My cabinets arrived in late March and its July now, I'm still chasing them, calling them everyday to see when my cabinet glasses are coming. This has been the most terrible customer service I ever had. I would not recommend KBS anyone. My review on overall experience------ They owner, Rob, claims he's very involved in their operation, but I didn't speak to him until early this year about remaining balance. With all the delays and the crack under the countertop resulting from removing the the misplaced countertop, I would expect their apology and attempt to mediate the situation. After exchanging legal letters from both sides, their people come into my place, tried to finish loose ends. However, my kitchen needed few more touch ups, and they never responded about my complaints until they realized that they needed to collect about $1700 balance on my account. I spent 40K in my kitchen.. They left a permanent damage under the cabinets.. They do have an impressive show room, and I should've listened to the bad reviews here, and took a notice on a minimal number of the reviews despite the impressive showroom. I hope you would take my review seriously and find a kitchen renovator somewhere else. VISIT THE SHOW ROOM TO GET SOME IDEAS, BUT DON'T DO BUSINESS WITH THEM. I had cabinets ordered and also used their contractors but they don't respond to you when you need them. And the owner will not show up until you have a balance to pay. He's probably busy replying on the bad yelp reviews.. I'm more than willing to speak to anyone about my experience here, if you have any questions. Feel free to leave a message. KBS was horrible to deal with. Their customer service is the worst. They did a poor job on our kitchen, refused to follow through when we complained, charged us for things that they never delivered. We had to pay other people to finish the work they should have done. Their work is incredibly sloppy. The contractor they assigned us was rude and difficult to work with. We don't normally ever write reviews, but for what we paid, I was so angry about their service. I should have read reviews before committing. At first they seem helpful and eager and then they disappear and don't return emails. I can't stress enough how disappointed we were. read more

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY! I've done many rennovations in my house and this was by far the worst experience ever. Every time i look at my cabinets, I get upset. I had a 40K budget to redo my kitchen which is only 11ft x 13ft. They provided me with the eqivalent of MDF for cabinetry - however, they told me the it was maple. Post ordering and then receiving the cabinets-I noticed the quality was poor and went back to them. They said the doors and drawers are all wood - the rest is not. They should have been very clear about the contruction of the cabinets. In addition, they provided me with a contractor and at the last minute switched to someone else a few days before the demolition. Because of time constraints, I didn't hold off the project, but they were the worst! I had to argue with them regarding their quality of work. I had to have them resand the floors twice. They had to redo the molding on the cabinets - and did this only after I argued with them and sent a picture to Kitchen and Bath. I saw that there were some positive reviews, but equally some very negative ones. Are you willing to take the risk? Please don't. This company doesn't deserve to stay in business. read more

When the cabinets finally arrived - in August - they were wrong!! It took Robert until October 5th to return my phone calls, at which point he offered to re-do them "at a really good price." Called them to ask for a quote based on a design that is already completed with exacting specs including doors and color. Told that is not how they do business and I need to come in. When I explained I had no interest in doing anything other than sending the architect designed spec they said, nope. Thanks for letting me take my 50k elsewhere. Looking to remodel bathroom. Wife and I arrived on Saturday and were greeted by gentleman behind counter. He directed us to go to the back corner of showroom to see the few bathroom vanities that they had. Spent about 20 minutes looking in corner and other parts of showroom. No other customers in showroom. Ladies at desks, gentleman behind counter and gentleman in back office. No one offered assistance. We walked out and went elsewhere where we were warmly greeted and assisted in choosing cabinets and bathroom layout. read more

My husband and I had an appointment to meet with sales rep Marianna. She kept us waiting for 40 minutes past the scheduled time and was then incredibly cold, rude, and disrespectful to us once she met us. KBS shows a clear lack of judgment putting someone this unprofessional in a customer-facing role. If there was anything wrong with the cabinets on delivery or installation, I have no doubt she would be unhelpful. Avoid at all costs - there are plenty of other kitchen places in Westchester that know how to treat customers. read more

In the middle of discussing my design project, i was told that my time was up and that the next appointment was waiting. I walked around the showroom for 5 minutes and then saw the rep by herself at the copy machine with no one at her desk and no other customers in the showroom. After 2 weeks of no contact i called and asked for a quote which came in so high, it was ridiculous. All the negative reviews here are correct. I do not know how this place stays in business. Go anywhere else with your business. I have 3 bathrooms to renovate and Kitchen and Bath Source is the most unprofessional. read more

They'll treat you like a king when you are designing and buying, then when the measurements are wrong (they will be) or you need something replaced (you will) they are nowhere to be found. I am actually in the middle of trying to get KBS to complete a job that I have paid for IN FULL and what a disaster! No one shows up to work on our kitchen and no one has answers to solutions to our problems. Not to mention the work itself looks so unprofessional. My husband and I will SURELY be contacting the Better Business Bureau to file a complaint. and I will spend as much time as it takes on the Internet to warn consumers about this company that cannot stand by their contract, workers, or products. read more

I dont usually write reviews but I am because I was worried about my job with KBS because of some negative reviews on yelp --and the job turned out great. Although one reviewer had some bad luck, I have to say that my experience was 5 stars. I highly recommend the sales consultant Marianna who knew her job inside and out and was clearly very knowledgable, with the patience of a saint. I had countliess questions and each was answered by Marianna, including many emails that I sent (which might drive anyone nuts). Michelle, who coordinates the deliverys was also great. We used our own contractor but we purchased the cabinets, hardware for cabinets, sink and our countertops from KBS (There is a great tile store across the street and we got fanatastic tile from them). Marianna ended up spending late hours with us and worked so hard on our job. The important thing is Marianna designed the layout based on the one we had in mind using a computer program and she made many suggestions to steer us straight on the type of drawers, dimensions of cabinets etc. We had some small glitches but they were handled immediately and professionally. Measurements of cabinets are the most important thing and Marianna came with Robert to measure and they clearly knew their stuff, measuring everything perfectly. So if you are remodelling go see Marianna (she has many years in the business and was beyond fabulous). Tip: if you install an over the range microwave near a wall you need to get the one that doesnt have the door swing from the end -or it will hit the wall. We got a "sharp" with a door that swung closer to the middle of the microwave. We were so so happy with KBS. read more
