It was recently my birthday and this was my pick of where to go. I am not a person who typically chooses to go out for Italian- the food of my people, generally I find what restaurants are putting out to be deficient to home cooking, but not kitchen roselli. I love their old fashioned dining room, so simple and yet so welcoming. I love their friendly service, where the owner recognized and remembered us from our last visit that at least a year ago. We got the spaghetti and meatballs, lasagna with house red sauce, chicken Bianca, both kids of bread, two huge cream puffs and two cannolis. It's all just perfection, and just order a bunch of stuff and share it family style. Their sauces are rich in depth of flavor, the quality of the ingredients is top tier, just go! I went to East Bend tonight to visit a friend and we found this lovely little restaurant. Their menu was very small but had a good selection of pastas I really love the dining room and the floor. We ordered at the counter and sat down and our food was out in a very good amount of time. The food was excellent and the place is overall attitude was just amazing. We spent a long time talking to the owner who told us all about her history and the restaurant and was just a really friendly person. After years of wanting to try Kitchen Roselli for their famous eclair my husband and I were finally able to go there when we were both off work and they were open. They have been there for 18 yrs and have always had limited hours. As a true family run restaurant, the husband, wife and son keep their work/life balance in check. The day we were there they had even more limited hours and were just taking to go orders. Since it's a bit of a drive for us to East Bend, we planned to eat in the car however, once we arrived, the wife/owner allowed us to eat inside and we were so grateful! This charming restaurant has a cute country feel with an open bright dining room with lots of checker board tablecloth covered tables. Lining the walls are shelves full of cans of tomatoes-perhaps empty, but added to the charm. They make everything from scratch here so I knew I was in for a special meal. We decided to order the lasagna with meat sauce, spaghetti and meatballs and cheese focaccia. Of course the eclair was a given for dessert. The cheese focaccia was dripping with gooey cheese on top of the fluffy focaccia bread! It was SO good and I knew it was going to ruin my appetite for the entrees but just couldn't stop eating it. Our spaghetti with meatballs and lasagna entrees were generous portions covered in their homemade sauce. Every bite was a delight. The meatballs were not dense but perfectly tender and seasoned so well. We stopped ourselves after finishing half of each entree so we could have room for our dessert. The eclair was the biggest eclair I have ever seen. It's not a traditional one but more a round choux pastry filled with cream and topped with chocolate sauce. It was definitely sweet and rich but delicious and a must try here. I hope to go back to Kitchen Roselli again and try some of their other menu items. I can see why this place is beloved by the locals and they have been here for so long. They just do it right. read more

We've been trying to eat at Kitchen Roselli for years! With their limited hours and our work schedules it's just been difficult to catch them during their 6 hours of business each week. Today we finally made it happen. Being the day after 4th of July, we assumed they would be closed. We called and received a message that the dining room was closed and we could order online for takeout. We went online and it said to order at the counter. So we made the 30 minute drive to East Bend and found them open, and looked forward to our Italian dinner in the car. The owner was simply awesome, super friendly, and she asked if this was to go... I looked around the empty dining room and asked, "Unless you don't mind if we sit at a table???" She said absolutely, have a seat! Everyone was coming in to pick up carry out orders, but we were treated to a sit down experience. The food came out quick and it was fantastic! The cheesy focaccia was blistering hot, the Spaghetti and Meatballs were fabulous with their house red sauce and the Neapolitan Lasagna with meat sauce was a hearty delight. We finished up with a massive Cream Puff that was so good I can't wait to go back for another. There was an intense rain storm throughout our meal, and the skies cleared just as we were ready to leave. What a fantastic experience we had tonight... and it was a good 10 years in the making. I have a couple of friends who are from East Bend and they rant and rave about Kitchen Roselli so we decided that a group of us would get together and see what all of the fuss is about. This is definitely a meal I will travel over an hour for again. The lady working the cash register at the front was so friendly and told us up front they were short staffed for the night which really wasn't a problem. We ordered our food and sat down at our table without issues. I dont really have anything bad to say about the food - everything was absolutely delicious. We got the kitchen chicken, the Bianca chicken pasta dish, and the manicotti dish that was on special. We also ordered both garlic bread and cheesy focaccia along with meatballs as an app. The star of the night was definitely their family red sauce. I'm not a huge red sauce fan but I was pouring it over both of my chicken pasta dishes. The garlic bread was divine and the meatballs big and perfectly seasoned. We finished our meal off with a giant cream puff and it reminded me a lot of a Boston cream pie. This is not an establishment to sleep on, especially if you're anywhere near this area. I suggest getting there early as they get pretty busy as the night progresses. Also note they are only open on Friday and Saturday. read more

Family run and family oriented is how I would describe this place. They have limited hours, but we managed to get in at open and were welcomed right away by the friendly and engaging folks at Roselli. You place your order and pay at the counter, then go find your seat. I've seen where the Italian dressing is a must get, and I would say it was awesome indeed. Their red sauce was spot on with low acidity. Clearly scratch made. The cheesy focaccia bread may have been the best thing, and that's not an insult to the other dishes. Last evening we had a wonderful dinner at Kitchen Roselli. We went with good friends who were equally impressed. I had the eggplant parmigiana while my wife had lasagna with meat sauce both dishes were excellent. Our friends had the eggplant parmigiana and meatballs with spaghetti. They also loved their meals. We all had the salad in a jar which was a unique and tasty addition. The prices are very reasonable and the dining room had a rustic, friendly, and homey feeling. It is only open a few nights a week. We frequent here about 2-3 times a year. Ever since covid we just get the dinner to go. I can't say much for the inside seating since covid hit. What we do order to take home is always so delicious and warm and WELL worth the money spent. I have never ordered anything other than the lasagna with meat sauce. It's always very consistent with taste and size. For what you spend you get a hearty portion of pasta. The Italian salad dressing is my favorite dressing to ever exist. In my opinion you absolutely must get a side salad if eating here just for the flavor of the dressing. We drove up to East Bend, NC today to have dinner at Kitchen Roselli. This is a casual restaurant with really good food. The wine, beer, and cocktail choices were good and the choices offered were plentiful. We tried 'Laura's Cosmo' and it was very well done. We started our meal with the mason jar salad and the cheesy focaccia bread. The greens were fresh and crispy with a creamy Italian dressing that was really awesome. The bread was warm and had just the right amount of cheese and came their home made red sauce. The main dishes were done very well. The lasagna is as good as any I've ever tried. The Neapolitan Chicken was tender white chicken in a red sauce with cheese. Delicious! The Rigatoni Rosso was wonderful for those who enjoy just a little more spice in their life. We finished with a cream puff that was seriously a five star treat. We highly recommend this place. The staff was very friendly, and the ambiance in a renovated historical building is perfect. They're only open on Fridays from 5:00~8:00, and on Saturdays from 4:30~8:00, but seriously, it's worth the wait to get there. Try it, you'll be glad you did. read more

Hidden gem in East Bend, NC. Incredibly charming and romantic setting in what seems to be a converted country general store. Family owned authentic Italian restaurant. Started with the meatball appetizer and it was phenomenal. Second was the house salad in a mason jar. Very unique idea. The salad was very fresh and the dressing was wonderful. Due to Covid restraints, Kitchen Roselli had been operating on curbside orders exclusively for the past year+, but I'm happy to report they are OPEN for dine in (2/5/22)!!! They are currently doing counter service but still a great place for a hearty, authentic meal. Kitchen Roselli has that mom and pop's comfort feel, with a fancier Italian twist. This eatery is located in a quaint historical building; its humble interior highlights the character of the original building, but the food is exquisitely indulgent. To start, their salads are served in a Mason jar with their signature creamy Italian dressing - it's a must! Hands down, the best dressing I have ever had! The presentation is great - all southerners know that everything tastes better out of a Mason jar. I am a creature of habit when it comes to this place. I always order the Chicken Bianco, because it's that damn good. This is their version of chicken Alfredo, but with spiral pasta, rich cream sauce, and roasted chicken that melts in your mouth! If you're more into red sauce, they've got you there too! Their red sauce is an old family recipe and you can get it with delicious lasagna or their award winning meatballs! Make sure to order one of their house made cream puffs for dessert. They are GIANT and doused in warm chocolate ganache. They have amazing drink options - the Laura's Cosmo Love is my favorite! Highlights of the meal were the meatball appetizer, the salad (dressing is divine!) and of course the famous cream puff which was as large as a small child's head. We also had the gnocchi (more of a soft, pillow-type ricotta gnocchi, as compared to other dense potato gnocchi) and the manicotti with meat sauce, which were both tasty too. I had to go and see for myself what Kitchen Roselli was all about due to all the five star reviews and chatting with Barrie P about this spot. I will say this place was good but I don't think it is the only awesome Italian food in the area. The way my GPS took me home was much better than the way it took me there. On the way there the drive was literally in the middle of no where, with no street lights, and high beams hitting me left and right. The way home was more through Winston and not on 40 which was much better. We got a last minute reservation and they asked if a window seat was okay, and they said it like it was a bad thing. Well, I know why! It was freezing and drafty by the window, but on the plus side it is separated from the rest of the dining room so it was a romantic spot. And it also gave us a primetime view of all the cream puffs. I do like that you can get salad or antipasto, but I would prefer neither and have the entree price be a bit cheaper. I really liked the antipasto the fiance not so much. I knew I was going to get the spaghetti and meatballs. The meatballs were amazing but the spaghetti and sauce wasn't my all time favorite. I would go back and get the meatball appetizer for sure. Zac got the veal parm which is egg battered instead of breadcrumbs, it was tasty as well but he prefers the breadcrumb variety. I saw the week before they had a fresh pasta with vodka sauce special and I wish I could have tried that! The waiter didn't tell us the special of the night but I had already scoped it out online. We knew we couldn't leave without a cream puff and we also ordered a cannoli. The cannoli was really tasty I would get it again. The cream puff is actually an eclair in a round shape, since the filling was custard and not whip cream. Let me tell you, that custard was delicious. This was my first visit to Kitchen Roselli, but it won't be the last. Recommended by a friend, I knew the first thing to do was to call for a reservation. I really enjoyed the space--historic with modern touches, plus Frank Sinatra playing. Now to the food: the Shine salad with the Sunny Italian dressing was delicious. I ordered the Aglio Olio spaghetti with black olives, pine nuts, garlic, and cheese. The dish was light and rich and I enjoyed it very much. My partner had the Veal Parmesan, he thought the veal needed to be pounded flat as it was a bit chewy. I tasted the red sauce and liked it. I would say it's one of the best Italian places in the Winston Salem/ East Bend area! I went to kitchen Roselli's recently and they have completely changed the layout of the restaurant and how you order. It is basically fast food Italian. My husband ordered spaghetti and meatballs and I ordered lasagna. It was all pre-made earlier in the week, all they did was heat it in the microwave! Their food quality has definitely gone done hill, not much flavor! We could have made the same thing at home for much less than $50!! Called ahead and made reservations as suggested -- so glad we did! Parking is tight in the back of the building, so if it's full, there is parking across from the grill & ice cream place. We were seated quickly and since we had previewed the menu ahead of time, we place our order with our friendly waiter. We got the meatball appetizers as other reviewers had recommended and we were not disappointed. The meatballs were sooooo good! It came with a side of bread. Husby got the bean soup, and I got the salad. The dressing is so very yummy! Husby was jealous he didn't get the salad, but of course I shared! For our entrees, we ordered the lasagna and the veal parm. The lasanga was extremely noodle heavy and smothered in sauce -- husby thought it was a bit dense. The veal parm was tasty. We both thought the red sauce was a little too salty and acidic for our tastes. We didn't get much water service as the evening went on. We finished up with a cream puff for me and a cannoli for husby. Cannoli for the win. I wasn't a fan of the cream puff's custardy innards, but we're glad we tried it. What a nice, little Italian joint. Food is fresh, the menu is simple, and expertly crafted. Super cute interior too. Our large group made it's way through the menu - some highlights: Meatballs, veal parm, and that mind-blowing cream puff. Outta this world. The ricotta gnochi are different (in a good way) - creamy and delicate, unlike the usual gnochi balls. Their red sauce kicks ass, and they generously serve it across the menu. Cream puffs are custard not white cream. Depending on region and style, they are different. Order at beginning of meal. We have never been impressed with them and they are often a bit soggy. I have been here 5 times. I have spent upward of 200 dollars or the people I was with have all of the 5 times. We have had different servers. I think one out of 5 times we might have had good service. Last night, the restaurant was only 2/3 full and service was horrific. We were cut off from ANY refills for the last 45 minutes. We were charged a mandatory 20 percent tip so maybe that's why service was bad. We were not offered a special but the table with same server next to us was. The owner did refill our drinks once. Food isn't bad but isn't worth the price they charge. I think homemade fresh food is worth paying for. The atmosphere is heavy and thick not light and happy. Beware. If you do not have your whole party together they will not seat you and the hostess will give you attitude. They used not to call you back when you left a message but they did this time. Greensboro and Charlotte and even Clemmons all have decent restaurants with good service. Do not go here. If you hare older and have any hearing issues, the space is small and on weekends you will not be able to converse. This is not a good date night place. On weekends there is a lot of drinking and they allow the guests to get very loud and obnoxious. They think they have a corner on the market because they are in East Bend and they are right. They do. So this is an adorable family owned restaurant. The family waits on you and makes sure you're well taken care of. Their drinks are delicious. Unfortunately there food was not made the traditional way we were used to. The eggplant parm had a strange flavor that I was not a fan of.
