I dropped in here for lunch because I wanted to try their Italian Sub. On my previous visit the young man who waited on me said the Italian was his favorite item on the menu. It is made up of pepperoni, ham, lettuce, tomato, onion,and provolone. I added mayo and oregano, with oil and vinegar on the side. The sub was soon out, nicely plated, with chips on the side. This crusty, 8" was very well filled with meat and cheese, and attractively topped with freshly cut veggies! This is a very, very nice sandwich with layers of flavors, a nice compilation of textures. My family came in tonight and we were looking forward to a good meal. They were not extremely busy in the seating area but were paying more attention to getting to go orders out. When we finally got food 45 mins later the wings were cold and the Stromboli was hard as a rock. The sweet waitress who was working so hard said she wouldn't charge me for remade ones. I thought she meant she was comping them. I went to the back area to pay and the rude cook guy yelled well she got them so... well I clarified with her and she said oh I meant I wouldn't charge you for the second ones. Well duh they were as cold as if they just came out of the fridge. Just avoid, too high of a price for sub par food and rude kitchen staff. read more

Despite the sign on the door warning us that service may be slow, we had a smooth and seamless experience at Venezia tonight. Our waitress was kind and attentive and I felt everything moved along just fine. We came with our in laws and between us all we tried the fettuccini Alfredo, manicotti, eggplant parmigian, chicken parmigiana and kids chicken fingers and fries. I really have no complaints! It was not the best Italian food of my life but certainly far from the worst. Everything was well cooked, nicely plated, the portions were more than adequate. Even the kids chicken tenders were really nice quality. They offer a lunch buffet here that would probably be a good move to try! I would say if you're in Advance and wanting some sit down Italian food, this place is a safe bet. My sisters used to work here over 20 years ago, and although this place is nostalgic and I haven't lived in North Carolina for just as long, it's still the BEST pizza I've ever had! We mom was a single mother of 3 who served as a waitress but always provided for us, and this place was always filling! I remember the huge slices and even though my go to is a pepperoni pizza, this is one place where I absolutely loved their chicken pizza. We had an excellent visit today'! After having had a terrible day, I decided to take my kids out to lunch for some pizza as a reset. We were immediately greeted by the manager, Noor, who has a beautiful warm smile and went out of her way to ensure we had a great experience. Their pizza is also a step above the chain pizza restaurants. The servers are always friendly and check on you often. My chicken calzone supreme had joint gristle and lacked flavor of any kind. The coffee was lukewarm. Spouse had the Philly cheesesteak. He said is was pretty bland too. Everyone near my home enjoys Venezia Italian Restaurant in Advance, NC. Mostly because it was the only pizza place for many years. As the region has grown their menu options have not. I believe it takes the kitchen an extremely long time to make the food ordered. (so we usually call I order in ahead of time prior to our arrival). The interior of the restaurant resembles a dark cave even in the middle of the day, but it always seems very clean and the several personnel are friendly and courteous to the patrons. read more

The food here is really good. We love their pizza and wings. But the clock in the kitchen is pretty much at least :30 behind the rest of the world. Every time we order from here for takeout it's always at least :30 after they tell us it will be ready before we get our food. Just an wonderful atmosphere, great food, and the "family restaraunt" feel is definitely felt. Granted, I am not transported back to Italy, but that doesn't seem to be the point of the experience. Like others have said, the restaraunt/ownership seem to really care about the community which is great to see. Perhaps this is one of the reasons why it is always crowded. I am mystified as to why Venezia's has a 2.5 star rating. The pizza I had last night was excellent. The toppings were generous (even the garlic! Oh my!) and they put more cheese on it than most pizzas I've had. The crust had an excellent texture, but my only nitpick is that it wasn't super flavorful. But overall it was definitely a five star pizza. The price was excellent. In addition, I've eaten here many times over the years and have found their strombolis (New Yorker and veggie) to be outstanding. read more

This is my third time over the past two years trying to give them the benefit of doubt. Tonight is my last try. Our server was nice and that's the only reason for one star. This is no way Italian food that I am used to. The meatballs are not made fresh, tasted water logged because they most likely were defrosted after being delivered by Sysco or alike. The "garlic" bread was missing the garlic and there was no olive oil with garlic and seasoning to dip, just straight olive oil. My son would only order a cheeseburger, not Italian I know but it's on the menu. The bun was toasted hard, burger was like cardboard and they put *White* processed cheese on it. What is that?? He could not eat it even when I scraped off the cheese because the burger was so dry and hard. When I raised the above, the staff didn't seem to be phased or care our food and experience was not what it should be. If you want diner style food, go to a diner. If you want Italian, go to a real Italian restaurant and this is not one. read more

Average southern rendition of italian food. Nothing was terrible, nothing was amazing. Had food from here 4 times, every time it took well over 40min to recieve food. One time in particular i called ahead of time, placed an order and when i arrived 20min later, it hadnt been started. You could imagine my frustration being that it was a single sandwich. This restaurant was not at all what I expected. I was driving thru and wanted a slice of pizza. Yelp directed me here. I thought it was going to be more of a fast food joint but it's not. It a sit down family restaurant. They do offer a salad and pizza buffet on Sunday's for 7.95. I was going to walk out cuz I didn't want to pay 8$ for a slice but the young lady convinced me to stay by selling me just the one slice of cheese I was craving. We are fairly new to the area and decided to try Venezia's for pizza since it was so close. We have been 3 times now and love it. The prices are very reasonable and the food is good. Pizza has a good dough crust that isn't soggy and reheats well. The wings were good and we tried a simple veggie pasta last time that was fresh and light. Family owned and local. We ate here for the first time last night. The pizza and the Stromboli we're both very good. Lots of garlic which we love. The server was a very nice young man. This is a 4 Star pizza joint for me but I am giving them a 5 because of all of the ridiculous 1star reviews. 1 stars are for the worst of the worst and this place is growing on me. I had put my nose up at it because of its 2 star rating until a friend had ordered it. It's a homemade not chain pizza. Every thing outside of the pizza is a bonus so the pizza is the star and other things are available. We always get take out and I have tried the pizza, gyro, wings, calzone and cannoli. Gyro is not authentic but was really good - fresh lettuce and tomato - probably homemade pita bread and frozen gyro patty that I have had at other restaurants too. Expected though from a pizza joint. Good fries here too. This place is local, clean, friendly and affordable. On a street with a McDonald's, Wendy's, Taco Bell and Bojangles - be glad you have some non chain choice. Sits next to a Chinese restaurant I also like. Don't be afraid - this place is great. Hardly any of the 1star reviews were even about food - any restaurant on the planet can serve a bad meal - did you ask them to make it right?
