I brought 8 shirts in on a Thursday for laundry. I asked for light starch. They originally said they'd be ready next Tuesday. Imagine my surprise when I got a text stating they were ready the next day! Great! They ended up dry cleaning 1 and laundering 7. I thought the price for each was high at $12+ for dry cleaning (1 shirt) and $5+ for the rest. I'm new to the area, so I'm not sure how this compares. It's more than I've ever paid anywhere in the country. I will say, the work is great! But you pay for it. I won't be back because I think the price is too high. read more

OVERPRICED!!!!!! Such a joke!!! Don't take designer here! I took a designer dress and my friend took a non-designer dress. Hers was actually more intricate and made of better material. They charged me more and called out the designer on the receipt! Designer doesn't always mean better quality but to this place it means higher $$$$. Never again! To begin with let me just say I have used Kite's Custom Cleaners for several years now. I believe they are one of the best cleaners in the area. Each time I pick up my clothes I am always pleased with there appearance. I am old school in the fact that I believe slacks should have a strong straight seam and shirts should be starched smooth and crispy. I have taken my suits, shirts, coats even some linen there from time to time and I have never had any problems. While it is true they are more expensive than many other cleaners in the area, I feel they do an outstanding job on my clothes. And as a poor man that has limited wardrobe and works hard to keep it looking as good as possible, Kite's is a major component in that equation. Do not use this company! Both Fort Worth locations are horrible. Not only do they overcharge, they can't even get a small order done in 3 days. I even offered to pay extra, but they guaranteed my order would be done by Wednesday at 5:00. Nope! Now there are 3 boys without their suits this morning. Terrible! Disappointing! Definitely decent on the cleaning side just can't justify the extreme price. About 5X from what I was thinking. Dropped off some slacks and a sports coat for dry cleaning. Should have asked the price but didn't. New to the area and went to where I felt was convenient. There is a base price for dry cleaning slacks. About $10.50. Then on top of that there were two levels of up charges based on the brands of slacks I dropped off. The first was over $12 and the second over $15. First time I have encountered something like this. Paid my bill without complaining because my fault for not asking but felt at least the up charges would be something brought up at drop off. Nothing fancy about the pants, just normal slacks and they don't do anything different because of brand. Just normal dry cleaning. I hope the employees are well compensated. read more

I got paint on my favorite Nike hat and I tried to get the paint out myself but I never could... I took it to kites cleaners and they said they can clean it..... I figured they maybe able to get some of it off and maybe it will still show through ..... I was wrong ! They did an amazing job and I am very happy!!! We heard good things about Kite's, so we trusted them to take care of a 96" panel of curtains from our newborn nursery. We needed a quick turn around, so they cleaned them for next day pickup. At the first pickup, we discovered a new black smudge from the hanger, so they reprocessed them again overnight. When we finally took the curtains home, the smudge from Kite's was gone, but the original stain was still present, and our 96" curtains are now 93" curtains. Management offered to steam them to regain length, but no amount of pulling will yield those 3" back. No offer of refund for the $50+ charge, and no offer of replacement of permanently altered curtains. read more

I'm so glad I decided to give Kite's a try - I prefer my dress shirts to be folded, and with one other exception (a laundry in Flower Mound, where I was living until January), there wasn't a single dry cleaners and/or laundry that could get it right. This Kite's location is the only one I've ever been too and they did an astounding job on one of my favorite shirts. The front counter lady(forgot her name) was polite and paid special attention to my shirt. She asked me to show her where each stain was and applied tape to each blemish. She also asked me what kind of stains they were(never has anyone at any dry cleaners asked me that). Not only were they able to keep the shirt "new" white but they also removed all of the stains. They've done such a good job that I will continue to give them my business. I recommend that you do too! Also the place looks wonderful since the renovations! Keep up the good work Kite's! read more

I have been using Kites for 15 years. Mostly because they are convenient than anything else. I recently got married, and had a tux made for my wedding. After only wearing it three times, I noticed a burn on the lapel. I went to Kites expecting the worst, but to my surprise, they were VERY sympathetic and understanding. After talking back and forth about the situation, they worked with the original tailor, and had a new jacket made to the exact specifications as the original...at no cost to me! Customer for life. I did not have an issue with their cleaning but with their prices. I was charged $20 to dry clean a pair of pants because it had a faux leather trim on the pocket. I was not told about the upcharge until pickup. Their "normal" prices are higher than any other cleaners in the area. read more

Not only are their prices too high but their service sucks to high hell. Not customer service but the ckeaning us sub standard. They charged me $30 for a 3 piece suit and did not remove the stains. The pressing of the suit is sub standard as well. I will return to Stanton Cleaners in Arlington. read more

Insanely expensive prices. I took my queen size comforter in to be cleaned (for the first time) and was charged $80. My roommate took hers in to be cleaned at another place close by and was only charged $32. Very expensive for an average job. read more

UPDATE: I received a call yesterday (Wednesday) from the owner of Kite's cleaners, Gary Kite, who had been out of town and had just heard about the situation. He apologized profusely about the incident and about what I had to go through and said that there will be some retraining going on in all of his locations with his teams. He also said that they would be going over my letter point by point to illustrate what went wrong and how it could have been handled better. He assured me that their policy was not being followed in any way during this incident, that when the dress first had to be redone to get the side pressed open right that there should have not been a charge to me at all from that point forward, let alone that the dress would be in such poor condition when I went to pick it up the 2nd time. He offered to help me in any way he could, if I needed reimbursement for the repair, etc and he offered that, if I would be willing to allow them to handle my dress again, they would preserve it at no cost after my wedding. I was extremely satisfied with his response and feel that he will take the necessary steps to retrain his team regarding policy in such matters. read more

Took a nice vintage shawl blanket here that I bought from an antiques dealer. It wasn't overly soiled but did have light, short dog hair over a good deal of the fabric. When I picked it up it looked no cleaner and dog hair was still visible. I told the young staff that I wasn't satisfied with the results and she said she would send the blanket through again. When I picked up the blanket the second time it still had hair all over. I paid but was very unhappy. After all this is a dry cleaners right? But I guess that doesn't include brushing off dog hair! This was the Camp Bowie location and I will never go back. The second time the blanket was sent back it should have been made clear there was a problem and if hair was not part of the cleaning process I should have been informed. read more

Wonderful job on 2 formal dresses, both with beading. One with what looked like red wine stains on train and a few stains on the skirt of the other. Kite got all the stains out, they smell brand new, and the beading is in perfect shape. Staff was so kind and polite and was reminiscent of how customer service used to be! Prices were fair and service was quick. Left feeling like the staff were friends! Excellent cleaners for our formals! Will be back and will recommend this Kites location to others! Over priced, VERY RUDE staff (camp bowie location), and my clothes had a weird smell after being "cleaned" at this location....

If I could give zero stars I would. This is the second time I have used this cleaners for this particular item, however the first time I have used this location. I took in a queen comforter and two shams to be cleaned. I was told it would take about 10 days to come back , yet two days later it was back and ready to be picked up (this should have been a clue something was wrong). I picked it up, they charged $80 (and supposedly this was 20% off) this should have been my second clue something was wrong. Today I unpackaged the comforter from the cleaner bag to put back on the bed. It has NOT been cleaned, rather they put a couple of dryer sheets in it to give the fresh smell of being cleaned. Do not waste your time or money, and if you do best to check if in fact they did what they said. read more

I bought a leather skirt for a great price at a vintage store, so I needed to find a place that would get the smell out of the leather. The cleaners closest to my house didn't want to do it because the bottom hem was glued instead of sewn, and they were worried that it would come undone. I went to Kite's because of their reputation and because Google said they did leather. I had to sign some paper saying that I understood there was a possibility of something happening to the leather (I get it, stuff can happen when cleaning leather, and they don't want to get sued). It took a week, but I just picked up my skirt, and they did beautiful work. The hem didn't come undone. The vintage store smell is out. The skirt is pressed and looks better than before. While I would have preferred to not spend $80something bucks on cleaning a skirt, my skirt looks new and still costs less than a new leather skirt from a store. Their service was worth the cost, and I'll definitely return if I need a leather garment cleaned again. read more

My favorite "party" dress was covered in wine, and it appeared to be ruined. Not only did they get the wine out, a stain that I hadn't noticed from before was removed as well. My daughter's bridesmaid dress was covered in fast food (it was a great night!) and salsa and cheese were removed from it as well. I had no hope that either of these dresses could be salvaged. My daughter had gotten a chocolate sauce stain on her beautiful expensive prom dress. She was attending another prom the very next weekend. I carefully searched local reviews to find the right cleaners for the job. I definitely chose the right place. I took the dress in on Monday morning and it was ready by Tuesday evening. They did an awesome job of removing the stain and returned the dress to "like new". The employees were friendly and knowledgeable! read more

They did a fine job cleaning my clothes, but their prices are through the roof and they aren't advertised well at all. The only place they advertised their prices was off to the side on a sheet of printer paper, with tiny font. I was shocked when I picked up my 5 shirts and 4 pants and had to pay $56. This is partially my fault for assuming their prices would be comparable to other dry cleaners I've been to, but I did feel slightly deceived and taken advantage of with them pricing their items that high. read more

I went to Kites to get a pair of suede boots cleaned. They did a great job and charged $12. Five stars. Then I went back with some laundry items... The staff are ok. Get the job done, but not very friendly. The pricing, however, is INSANE. I took six items. Six. They charged me $72 for six items. Two shirts, a pair of pants, two blouses and a dress. All laundered except the dress which was dry cleaned. Maybe I'm just not used to price gouging from a cleaners, but I think I'll go to the ten other cleaners in the area who do almost as good of a job for about 75% less. Never. Again. read more

This is the worst cleaners I have ever used! After several attempts on many articles of clothing, numerous calls to get cloths cleaned again, I will not go back. My latest item was a pair of cream pants. When I picked them up they had blood stains that were not there when they were dropped off. Yuck! Obviously someone pricked their finger on a pin and left the stains on my cream silk pants. I live about an hour away, this is not a drive I like to make and do not want to go back to have pants re-cleaned. I called the cleaners to hear the same thing, we are so sorry.
