Was pretty good in the beginning then it failed to the point of selling and running. Looking for a more personal bank or credit union.

the people is great at the bank but customer sever is a joke. This is great been calling 2 hours Stright during bank hours with customer serves still I get sent to there voice mail. 2 hours straight. now gov. shut done so I have to wait transfer my money. i on ssdi so with gov. shot down cant do it at this time. I did open new acct. with Navy credit union. will one good thing Kitsap just merge with Hiritagebank maybe they can clean up there mess. At this time they don't even deserve 1 star read more

I had an issue that ended up being an almost a weeks long process (not due to any fault of the bank). Judy and Terrance helped me out & they were incredible! I have always banked with a credit union, but I switched my business account to Kitsap Bank because it is local and has been around for over 100 years. I have never been charged so many fees and had my accounts mismanaged in such a short period of time. When I opened my accounts (personal and business) in May of 2020, they only provided me with a checking account, not a savings account. Weird, right? I had to go inside the bank after many confusing phone calls and finally I was given a savings account. I suppose it is common to open a bank account and only want a checking account? No way, that is weird, everyone wants both checking and savings. It is absurd that I had to REQUEST for a savings account. Absurd. My biggest gripe is the plethora of problems with their online banking/phone app. I wasted a lot of time on the phone and in person regarding this. Pop-up messages said I did not have authorization to deposit checks. HOW NUTS!!! I'm the only one on the account, what do you mean I can't deposit a check in my own account?! I was unable to use the online deposit because I was never given a debit card (which was absolutely essential for using Kitsap Bank's phone app, as they have a second party app you must also download and then enter your debit card number in order to use their services). Impossible to do that without a card, which should have been given to me right after opening my accounts. While on the phone, multiple separate times, I was speaking to the bank's web master/developer of the app. I know this because while on the phone, they were re-writing the code so that when I closed the app and then re-opened it on my phone, options that didn't exist magically appeared. Because of their poor service, I closed my accounts a month ago and only NOW am I finding out that I was charged a $25 closing teller fee. NO ONE EVER told me about that fee. I want my $25 back, I found out about this fee after I was sent a paper statement (which earlier I had to OPT OUT OF in order to not be charged $5 EVERY MONTH, and the only way to opt out is through their useless app). I received no receipt the day I closed my account that said ANYTHING about this fee. Let's be honest, wow, burned while opening my account, burned closing my account. I took my business and money to Kitsap Credit Union and I'm never looking back. I will write a review on any and every website to warn people of this bank that certainly doesn't care about you, only your money. Kitsap Credit Union was so helpful and it was easy to open my new account with them. They even printed my new debit card that day!! And their online/phone app is excellent and easy to use. Stay away from this bank- so many fees, lack of communication, poor service, and let me tell you, when I closed my account at the Kingston branch, the teller asked me why and I said the online services were beyond sub-par. She agreed then she went on to tell me THAT SHE has an account with Kitsap Credit Union. So there you have it folks, even the employees don't want to bank where they work. That speaks volumes. Excellent branch service, nice staff. Terrible loan department. Crammed fees into loan causing us to pay it off, so they added a prepayment penalty because they could. Ex-customers for life. 2 star rating is 5 star for branch, negative 10 for loan department, and 7 bonus points to get into 1-5. read more

Kitsap Bank's slogan 'Financial Freedom for Families' is an exaggeration at best. If you put your hard earned money in this bank be aware this bank may now assume proprietorship over YOUR money. They may question any withdrawal you make under the guise of their own bank 'policies'. Ignoring a Court ordered Executorship granted to me after the death of one parent, they have refused access to accounts that would allow me to care for my remaining parent suffering from advanced Alzheimer's dementia, again citing their own institutional policies. I recommend you place your money elsewhere. read more

I needed to come here for personal business.. They were not open on the weekend, not even for JUST 4 hours! Lame! The number I called to was getting no answer to find another branch.. Kitsap Bank is the best bank at which I've ever been a customer. I first moved my accounts and savings there because they did not get involved in any of the shady dealings that so many financial institutions engaged in that led up to, and caused, the Great Recession in 2008. They do not take risks with their customers' money. They are a stable and conservative bank and they are solid. Every employee with whom I've dealt has been patient, friendly and helpful: complete professionalism. If you are in Port Orchard at Bethel and Lund, the branch there has some really great people. Jackie, Jessica, Lisa, Joshalley, Samantha and Judith are some of the nicest people I've met. The customer service there is impeccable. They even sent me a get-well card after I was injured. Amazing. I can wholeheartedly recommend Kitsap bank to anyone. read more

I have banked with Kitsap Bank for 21 years now. They have helped me with several disquieting financial situations, and it always ended on a positive note! When a lot of banks went belly up in the 2008, Kitsap Bank was still standing! My mother had wanted me to switch to her bank-which was one of the banks that needed to close. I have a checking account with Kitsap bank and their debit card does not work half the time even though there is more than enough funds available I still it still says declined. And if there is less than $100 available it will not work at gas pumps. I have had nothing but problems with there debit card. Also they are extream So buyer beware. read more

My better half could not be set up for an account at the time. So I made a joint account with her. We have been with this bank almost 5yrs now. BUT! I'm going to close it... "why" you ask. She had linked this bank with her PayPal account. Bad news was she got hacked on her PayPal account. So the hackers not only took out over $100+ dollars. But they did it twice. For some kind of Hospital needs. She is covered and had NO reason for this service. We came into the bank to show the problem. The manager said she could do nothing about it or the $10.00 for 2 months of being under $200.00 limit. We had over $230.00 at the time. This Lady Manager really NEEDS a check on CUSTOMER SERVICE!!! "Period" So we called on another local Kitsap Bank and that Manager I give TOTAL thumbs up. She not only took care of our problem but told us what she could do and even a follow up. Now that's good Service. So why could we not get that kind of Service from the Port Orchard Bank? Any how we now deal with my Favorite Bank that I have been with for 13yrs. Worst custumer service was told there was no hold on tax return check there was when i tried to pull out money and while trying to figure out why i was lied to the teller Ben lost patince and told me to NEVER COME BACK. This is unacceptable customer service i wont be back. read more
